Great review, mine should arrive in UK in next 3 weeks for March (24) registration. I love the nods for the M cars . BMW show this under the section on their website for M cars. Similar to new X2 M135i but not due in Uk until August onwards. Got lucky with mine as dealer had a build slot reserved.
I love this car; I just got one for my wife, and she loves it too. Despite having a 911 Turbo S, I find myself enjoying driving the M35 even more. Hard to fully figure out how to get spots plus mode
Sport Plus you’ll need to go into your settings in the sport drive mode menu (the little gear on the left side when you select sport mode) then change your traction from sport to sport plus, it will save that and every time you go into sport it will give a disclaimer that you’re limiting your traction too.
Canceled my x130e due to the constant shifts of delivery dates. Initially ordered feb23 delivery rescheduled from aug23-nov23-may24. Ordered the x1m35i a month ago, will probably get it in dec23 Totally stoked after your video My first semi M car Have a good one!
All BMWs with Drivers Assist Pro technically have the hardware to do hands free driving L3 Automation, it’s more a question of if the public is ready, liability, and full security in the system. So my best guest evaluation is that as of today the general world public is not ready for L3 autonomy driving cars, bottom line is until it’s literally perfected it will be front and center in the media every time something goes wrong… but statistically speaking self driving cars will only get better and safer with time. The #1 issue with that is the “with time” part because you’ll literally crack a few eggs before self driving is perfected… statistically it will be infinitely safer as time goes on… just not perfect yet…
A hard driving canyon carver might get their $15K extra out of the M35i, but the average Joe gets only some badging and quad tailpipes. And gives up mileage, a spare tire, and smoother ride with 18” wheels. Both models suffer the same laggy jerky starts from a dead stop.
How does this feel in comparison to the outgoing X2 M35i? Not sure if it’s just because there’s less info on it, but the X2 seems to have gotten more fanfare early on and perhaps a little more “raucous.” Do you believe the 0-60 claims? The X2 got it in 4.5s but some have measured the X1 at an honest 5.1 per BMW (more or less).
to me the new x2 looks like a baby x4/6 which is an amazing looking bubble. way better then this. but if this handles like a sports car then it’s a tough choice between this or the x2. both seem to be priced really good.
@@michaelschneider1365 it felt larger than my X1 but not overtly so. The turbo lag and torque steer was just too much for me personally. I’m just going to wait for the new X3.
It would be great to know how the car rides on washboard. The X1 I drive feels washboard a lot. Also, has any improvement been made on start-up from a stop? My X1 exhibits lag and jerks.
Before you buy this vehicle, let me point out the error BMW made in its design. On the front grill area where the radiator is located and slightly visible. Designers should have considered to put a mesh grill cover. Just recently purchased the M35i version, in less than 3 weeks of driving on the freeway to go to work. A rock punctured the radiator, took it to BMW for service and unfortunately it is not covered on their warranty. Hefty service price to pay 😏
Many thanks for the review. How does the car handle uneven roads? Is the "M adaptive suspension" anyhow adaptive?
i’m hoping for an early lease buyout in late spring early summer and get the new x2 or this

I have a g63s, RR and a turbo s taycan. Just bought one of these for my daughter 16 bday. She loves it

@btizzle3657 Are you crazy or just stupid?
Thank You so much for the wonderful Video !!! Now, I habe a 128ti, but the X1 35i could be my next BMW, best wishes from Hamburg / Germany, Andreas ❤

My first semi M car
Have a good one!
how does storm bay hold up against waterspotting and swirls? are they super visible like black?
None that I’ve seen after a few years that are beyond any other colors
Are the 23 7 series models capable of L3 Autonomous Driving in the future?

For $10K -$15K more than a regular loaded X1 what do you get? A quad set of tailpipes and 1 sec quicker to 60 mph.
The official 0-60 times are very conservative. Also a different transmission if I remember correctly

@@michaelschneider1365 FWIW, I test drove the M35i and then a X3 M40i about a week ago and left feeling confident that the M40i was a better purchase.
@@ggill1313 the x3 is twice the size as x2 and x1.

The auto start stop is better but not as smooth as the 6 cylinder engines running the same system
Needs a mild hybrid 48V battery with electric turbo wind up and starter.
Just saw one today in sf
Does the exhausts make little pops and bangs when you drive it? Do you hear the exhaust?
what about fuel consumption
31 MPG
23/31mpg with 26mpg combined.
Man that steering wheel sticks out like that of a 1980s truck.
