I own a 2024 BMW X1 M35i. I also own a 2023 740i. That car is incredible. The X1 , although inexpensive, has some nice features. For me I exclusively drive the X1 in sport mode. In sport mode it’s a fun driving experience. Sounds great and handles well. The new idrive 9, I’m not impressed. My 740i has idrive8 and it’s much faster, smoother and in my opinion much more user friendly. The X1 idrive9 is slow to start up and is not as intuitive as the idrive8. Overall idrive9 is ok, but just ok. The Harmon Kardon sound system is good, no equalizer, but still decent. For adequate sound the volume has to be around 3 quarters up, then it’s good. Lacking on bass but acceptable. I generally like the x1 , my major complaint is the rear body style. The front is awesome, but toward the rear it looks like every other swinging compact. No complaints on the interior. I’m impressed with it very much. I have the red accent seats and purchased F1 mats , red accent, looks great. I highly recommend F1 mats, however pricey Around 500 for a set, but the best there is, custom made for any car. If y’all have any questions feel free to ask. Godspeed
Great video and very informative. I my 2022 X5 hybrid lease is up in September so thinking about what to get next as I want/need to downsize a bit but not sure if I want to leave the brand. This video has given me something to think about. I will definitely be test driving this one.
The modified B48 will also be in the new M135i F70, with the DCT instead of the massively compromised Aisin unit in the current M135i F40. Some nice internal changes on the B48 with parts used from the current B58 6 cylinder engine 👍
Great job mate; thorough review. You have a good voice for UA-cam. I’ve owned numerous BMW M products. Love the M series BMWs. I’m also a big P-car owner/fan… My wife needs/wants a new smaller/midsized SUV. This will be my wife’s new SUV over the base Macan. This is a much better buy over a base Macan; hence, why I’m picking this over a base Macan. Cheers/B
Great review as always! I've watched other YT reviews and some of them mentioned that the DCT jerks a lot from 1st to 2nd gears from a stop. Did you notice that, too? I've never owned a DCT, but I'm thinking about buying this X1. Thanks and happy holidays to you and yours.
I just have to wonder how many people there really are in the subcompact performance crossover market, especially those who are looking to spend 50-60k, also it's always going to be a hard sell for a performance BMW that doesn't have the iconic straight 6. This would probably be a pretty good off lease car though as im sure they will depreciate severely.
That’s what I would have thought too but I’ve seen numerous X1 M35i’s out on the streets lately. In fact every one that’s come in the last few weeks has sold, so it was surprising to get my hands on one to feature.
I have a 2015 f30 335i all modded and tuned it was my first car at 16 im 23 now and im looking to switch to this i was thinking about an x3m40i just because of the b58 but idc about speed much anymore and this x1 is beautiful aesthetically
Have had the Xline package 2024 X1 for about one week now. Came from a 2024 X3. Virtually the same price as an entry level X3. Nothing budget about it, folks. I do love my new X1. It's fully loaded and feels similar to my X3. Speed when not in sport mode can be a bit slow on take-off. My biggest complaint is idrive 9. What a mess. Slow, keeps dropping my Android Auto. Although that only started happening on day 5 when an update was pushed to the car. It does usually takes a minute to wake up/recognize.
This review is competent but at this point doesn’t add much to the discussion. The elephant in the room is whether the alleged issues in the regular x1s with turbo lag and dual clutch jerkiness (see e.g. Savage Geese review earlier in the year) have been addressed in this later-appearing x1 M35i.
Unaddressed here is a straightforward comparison with the regular X1 - my Xline with 18” wheels ran $45K. For $15K more I get quad tailpipes, a second faster to 60mph, and lose a spare tire. We need to see some startling steering and ride improvements for that dough, a better ride, and have the turbo lag and jerky starts from a stop fixed up. This last is unlikely to have any improvement until a 48V mild hybrid battery is put in place.
Is someone paying you to watch these and post this same comment? This is the third or so I've seen from you. You're on every video of this car posting the same drivel. Is this the Mazda brigade I've heard about? Go do something else with your time.
I am a big big BMW fan nowadays (driving dynamics & reliability) & am always owning or in the market for subcompact stuff at this point in my life due to my Mrs' & my life circumstances. 1 car in my stable is a BMW now. I'm a BMW CCA member, I can get a discount on BMW stuff via the club. I can also stack a military discount onto that. BUT, the fact this gen of X1 (& X2) has all glass controls via any knobs & has that dumb arm rest setup with no closed storage bin under it, pretty much has us being hard-pass moving fwd. Also, horrible-mention for BMW dealer service experience (have to beg beg & hope you might get a loaner when in for service) & be treated like one typically is at any Chevy, Ford, Kia etc dealership (like cattle) & it is a solid hard-pass. We'll either be buying the wife's next car with Audi or Lexus name on it. The Lexus NX F-Sport is a crazy nice looking vehicle (especially with the red interior), still has knobs for key things inside, & based on a coworker of mine with a Lexus, you get a loaner car with ZERO hassle when in for service. All that makes a huge difference.
BMW, bring more money. No thanks, this is only for well heeled Americans who seek status over reliability and have above average incomes and can afford to lease this German status symbol.

I just downsized from my 2021 X3 to the 2024 X1 M35. Best decision ever!
It’s a mini
Nice vehicle, good video, you did great on info, no annoying music, thanks
Insane new BMW X1 M35i SUV I can afford.

Hi Stacey, How is the drivers space for a bigger guy? Like 5-11 230 lbs? Thanks
Does it feel quick enough or would you like more power? Does it feel as quick as your 740?
❤ Great Car, that will be my next One ! Now i have a 128ti ,I'm very satisfied with BMW ! ❤❤❤
Excellent review. I'm pretty happy with my X1 M35i but do wish they put a six in it. if i want old school , I just hop in my daughters 11 328ix!

What was blinking on the cluster around 21 minutes.

Are you able to throw it around in corners. I think the style 869 wheels would look great on X1.
Really great suv❤

Bro this cat fits you perfect
in EU the difference in pricing between M version and the usual one is significantly higher than in US: basic x1 costs 44k eu, m35i starts at 70k eu

Why are they so scarce? I just saw a 25 x1 m35i in transit and that’s the only one closely remotely to me no deal ships have any 24 or even 25s
Amazing review bro.
Nice looking little ute, but hard pass on the DCT and the horrendous giant screen with no tactile controls.
Why dont u like the dct

I just don't like the middle console and the other buttons attached to it
Hello
U is the best
GLA 35 AMG
BMW X1 35M
Looks like a baby x3 m40i.
Why does no one mention the FWD AWD bias as it relates to this model?

Wasn’t expecting a Rotten Tomatoes-like review of a review, but here we are. 🙄
Lag and jerkiness aren’t going to be addressed until the mild hybrid approach is introduced. Audi did that with the A3.

No zf automatik gearbox ?
It has a dual clutch
It’s a tough sell for normal people but US does have 22 million millionaires

Me gusta bmw para wendy
Affordable he says... lol

No other car other than a Porsche drives like a bmw excluding supercars ofc
In Europe this car is 90.000 euro🎉
