Most of the studios had a 'flapper' star in the 1920's; Colleen Moore was the resident at First National. She was the 'nice flapper'; not too racy or misbehaving, though she did make a film called "Why Be Good" in 1929. Flappers disappeared with the Depression, but Moore was smart; authoring books about finance, and maker of a miniature home that drew crowds and sold for plenty. Moore made a few films in the 1930's and chose to retire.
Colleen Moore is delightful!
