    Wheel spin over wheel hop for FWD any day!

    Good to see you back Man! Although I can see the mount for sure helped the wheel hop I would not be able to get over the vibrations! I have the purple bushings on the front of the mount and I also have the rear mount where the one bolt goes in I just need to press it out and press the new Powerflex one in and that should do the trick👍

    Awesome video bro! I have the SXTH lower motor mount and I can say on the street it doesn’t help me much in my KN, but that’s mainly because of road conditions. On a prepped drag strip, this is where the stiffer mount is a plus. I consistent hook perfectly and I’m usually able to do 4.5-4.9 0-60, granted I am JB4 tuned but even works I was getting 4.8-5.1 0-60 at the drag strip

    I used the "yellow" Powerflex street bushing on the lower stock dog bone and the upper engine mount. I feel that the bushings should be matched so you are not transferring torque from one place to another. These work fine for me to reduce wheel hop and a nice benefit is vastly improved clutch engagement. I have not noticed any increase in NVM. My Veloster N is a daily driver so I like things smooth and quiet...as much as possible. I am pretty sure the "purple" performance bushings would also be a good choice based on forum posts. These were also one of my first mods. Very cheap and effective.

    I've had both Brandon, and as much as I LOVE the full mount (SXTH element) the NVH is just too much, especially with my family in the car. I have all three powerflex bushings (tranny, front and rear bushings) and although it helps the wheel hop, it doesn't get rid of it. Good video!

      I as well and now that I'm Stage 1+, it's only going to be worse...plus I've got KN tires & wheels, so narrower tire and less quality tire. That said, once the KN tires are worn out, the EN tires go back on👍👍

      Just out of curiosity, how long did you have the SXTH mount installed for? I hear after ~500 or so of break in miles, the NVH goes down drastically

    • @LeftenantMalachi
      @LeftenantMalachi Рік тому

      @@burblen7818 I had it for several thousand miles, the NVH did not go down at all, despite what some people state in the review of the item. You get used to it to a degree, but it's still too harsh, especially for a daily driver IMO.

    • @LeftenantMalachi
      @LeftenantMalachi Рік тому

      @@klasseact6663 That's exactly why I am not going Stage 1 or doing a tune. More power means more wheel hop, and ultimately less mileage. My car has to be a practical daily driver. I do have the bushings, BOV, intake, and a Stillin rear sway bar that's coming today!

    That makes sense. You have steel versus aluminum. It might be a tad more rigid, but probably not noticeable when you consider that the bushings will flex a bit. I think under most load cases, you are feeling how the bushings perform.

    Maybe with a new set of 18” wheels with 240/40 tires the car will fill better 😂, at least on the VN the stock 19” wheels feel pretty heavy on the road and the bad roads around here dont help either.

    What do you think about doing the yellow one for a person who doesn't race, at all, and just sorta gets on the gas every once in a while? I've never had any wheel hop because I never slam on the gas. The car has also never been driven on wet roads, and probably never will. Not too much rain here in AZ as it is. Definitely don't want perma-vibrations tho.

    • @owenshen36
      @owenshen36 Рік тому

      I'd put in the purple on the lower engine mount if you want to reduce the wheel hop to a sizable degree - there's a small bump in vibration but not really noise, and it's definitely not as pronounced as having the full mount replacements such as the SXTH or the new powerflex one(those are probably like 3-4x just the purple bushing). If you really don't care too much about having a ton of wheelhop reduction and want absolute max comfort, then do the yellow, but I'd personally just get the purple. My upper engine mount which is yellow actually ripped from driving since I think it's a bit too soft (I have purple lower engine, and purple side transmission bushing)
