- Chrysler’s popular Pentastar V6 engines have a few weak points from the factory. We got our hands on one of these engines and overhauled it with all our favorite upgrades engineered to improve reliability and longevity. Any of these upgrades would be smart choices for your vehicle, or you can install all of them like we did to take your Pentastar to the next level.

I wish you still made the oil filter housing/ cooler in the USA
Doesn’t that suck
Dorman should still make this in the USA. Maybe this item should fall below the standard markup/profit margin budget for them. Especially since this has been such a problem for so many people for so many years.
Buy a mishimoto cooler. Japanese has excellent craftsmanship. They also make a screw in oil filter to prevent dry starts on the 3.6
Good to see aftermarket parts companies coming up with reasonable solutions to OEM greed and sabotage.
Should’ve been metal from the factory
Dorman makes great improvements over OEM. Two more great Maga ones are Cardone & Detroit Axle. The USA has a bright future.
You just perfectly explained why i will never buy a Chrysler product. Absolute junk straight from the factory.
Hate to break it to you but several engines from toyota etc use plastic in the designs. You’re just ignorant is all.
I have bad news for you. All manufacturers use plastic for components. I guess you won't be buying ANY car 😂.
Out of everything he listed only things I've seen personally go bad was the oil filter housing and the solenoid. Ive never had a crossover housing go bad or manifold bolts break (I'm in the south though) pentastar is probably one of the most reliable v6s out currently at least out of the big 3
I’ve got a 100k miles on a town & country.. hauled the family all over the place.. no issues been a great family rig
@@joshcallen4838 mines is at 180k miles. Replaced the oil cooler to all aluminum. Still running solid
As long as you also replace rockers lifters and cams as well, 60tho tick is real, dealing with that on my 2015 jk now, junk motor from manufacturer, my 97 1500 4.3 200tho with no major issues....shouldve left the i6 alone
I hope JT the online mechanic sees this. If I knew how to send it to him, I'd do it.
Lol, im about to make a video about this now
@@OnlineMechanicTips
Yes, I've got to see it.
Noice
What about an upgraded oil cooler? Those seem to fail regularly as well.
Oil filter housing / oil cooler is the same product!
That's what he showed you here. Oil filter housing and oil cooler.
Can I buy from South Africa please I have a dodge journey 3.6
Hello, Cape Advanced Vehicles in Cape Town is a Dorman seller. I recommend calling them for more information!
Am I just able to buy the engine from a guys with all the modifications done because my Durangos engine is about to kill itself
Unfortunately, we do not sell the full engine with modifications. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Can you please send link to the timing cover kit that includes the water crossover?
Everthing these days is made cheap as shit and four times more expensive than back in the day its disgusting

Even after the Dorman upgrades, it’s still 💩
Crap of aluminum 😂
What should they make it out of? Cast iron? Billet steel? Billet aluminum? Latinum? 😊 Who knows what will last. Oring failures everywhere are a problem. Gaskets always seemed to last decades.
Just do buy dodge crap
I've replaced so many plastic oil filter housings, these engines are throw away powertrains. The Dorman kits are awesome
They aren’t throw away by any means. They are very good engines.
