Not RENs “side project”.
You may not have known that, so I don’t want to come off as a gatekeeper. It’s Rens old band. They were instrumental in getting Ren back into the love of music. They disbanded only because they were all off to separate parts of the world. Ren to Canada for treatment, Gorran traveling abroad, Glen, the drummer, got married and moved to Australia, and Romain, the amazing Frenchman, stayed in Brighton. I hope they get back together one day. They made amazing music together.
Hi, when you do I Shot The Sheriff, do the version from this same "Red Suspenders" set titled I Shot The Sheriff / Road to Zion / Hip Hop. Also, I would not refer to The Big Push as a side project, Ren was a band member from 2018 until band broke up in 2022, all before he took over the universe with Hi Ren.
FYI, the above song is the one TBP did right before the War Pigs Mashup, the massage before the kick in the face! ❤

I wouldn't call this "Ren's Side Project". They are musical equals. Check out Romain Axisa or Gorran Kendall for some great solo work as well.

That was awesome. I remember listening to the original version in grade school. This cover was very good

Ren and his flatmate Charlie Fowler had just restarted their band from their university days, Trick the Fox. In fall 2011, they had recorded about 20 songs for Ren's debut album "Freckled Angels", at The Sanctuary studio in London. Then in mid April 2012 they decided to make it a band album and restarted Trick the Fox. Soon after, the band became a trio, with Tommy Frampton on drums.
From mid April to mid June 2012, they released a few songs as a duo, including the studio version of "Love Music" (no video); a teaser of "Satellite Girl", showing various clips of them recording in the studio; an EP of acoustic tracks, including "It's Alright" (the EP is no longer available); the two mashups; a one-take video in the studio of Ren's cover of the John Mayer song "Neon"; a one-take video in the studio of "Lost Boy"; and a video for a short song named "The Four Elements", filmed out in the elements around Bath and Bristol. They finally revealed their new drummer, Tommy Frampton, in mid June with the release of a video for "Run Away", which included more clips from their recording sessions in the studio in London.
Two months later Ren's health deteriorated and he went on a health break in mid August 2012. (He'd been sick since summer 2009, but the symptoms were getting worse.) His health deteriorated even more in late spring 2013, when he developed allergies to most foods. In early July 2013, he announced that Charlie and Tommy had moved on to the other projects. He moved to Brighton and shifted the focus of his life to his health and health blogging over the next 4 years. Finally, after two stem-cell treatments in 2016 and 2017, he was able to get back to performing gigs and busking.
He started busking around Brighton with his flatmate Romain Axisa in spring 2017. They were were joined by Gorran Kendall in the summer, and they started performing as The Big Push in fall 2017. They released their first single, "It's Alright", in spring 2018, along with a video of a live performance at GAK (a music store in Brighton). By fall 2018, Glenn Chambers had joined as their full-time drummer.

I am new to your channel so I don’t know your story, but you briefly mentioned some of your history in your first Ren reactions. It may be another emotional one, but I really think you would appreciate and connect with Ren’s most recent release, Troubles.
