In this video I talk (in great detail) about some of the different ways you can grow your existing creative business and make more money - not just from new jobs, but from the jobs you already have. And if you’re wondering, “WTF does Lizzie know about all this? And why should I listen to her?” Well, I run a six figure production company… that’s why. :)

What are your biggest struggles in growing your creative business? Have you overcome any? How?
Getting started, lol. I'm in the process of setting up a media company to work on the side (as I still have a full-time job in marketing).
Finding time to shoot because I’m still at school and I need a solution
The biggest struggle right now for me is transitioning into paid work. I'm traveling in India right now and the markets for this kind of work are very different than say back in Atlanta where there was an established industry. Most work here is only for weddings for photo, and very few companies value photo/video work for their businesses. We've been going to places like Bali and Thailand where there is a bit more of a tourism industry and making content in exchange for stay and food, but I want to start transitioning into more paid work. Maybe that could be a video you or Chris make?
Btw - You guys are awesome. Thanks for making all the videos! I'm falling more in love with Canadians thanks to you, chris, Matti, Peter and the rest of the Canada gang! lol
Lizzie, great video! I lost a major contract last week so I will definitely check out the what to charge video! I was right in the average pricing but it is most definitely experience where I lost most of the points. How do you go and get a great gig without the experience?
Lizzie Peirce Accepting to do photoshoots for free so I can learn from them and charge for them in future shoots!.. :)
This is a good portion of our juicy secrets guys! When Lizzie and I partnered together on the company. This is the insight that grew us into a successful business. Great video Lizzie :)
You two should do a live Q & A on this topic!
Thanks for being awesome btw 🙂
y'all are just too cute! keep doing great things, both of you!
This is the video I needed! Your teachings crossed with Chris’s Contract Checklist PDF. Absolutely mint 👌🏼. Now I feel ready to transition over fulltime. Thank you Lizzy and Chris, y’all are an awesome team and the Dope Squad too for inspiring me everyday to shoot a style and out of my comfort zone. I really appreciate you guys. Lmk if you guys need a guide in Boston, MA.
All incredible advice. Thanks Lizzy. I’m a freelance content creator myself and Im super grateful for all this great insight.
So. Frickin. Good. I recently went full time doing wedding/small business work in my local area and everything you hit on was solid real world advice that actually works. DONT CHANGE!
This is one of the best channels on UA-cam for creatives hands down!
Lizzie. This video is fire. The tips are the truth. I've been watching Flashfilm Academy and he goes in-depth on what you speak of here. I'm eating it up... Thank you
Super helpful tips and an enjoyable video. Great Job. I'm just starting a business and these tips definitely help me get an idea of how to grow.
Thanks for the tips. I enjoy you and Chris giving us more insight into the business side of things. Your caption in the beginning was kind of tiny, had to get my glasses, lol.
No problem the standing up and down a lot. I really like you. Your video I mean😃
Very informative to. Thanks for the tips! Greetings from the Netherlands.
VERY well done!! Many, many thanks! I subbed and anxious for more 👍🏼👊🏼
Thank you so much, Lizzie! For this and the video with Chris (how much should you charge)! This exactly my biggest struggle atm. I want to start my avocatinal business, but I don’t know where and how to start with charging for my services. Love and greets from Germany. You both rock🤘❤️Cheers
I just wanted to say that I follow Peter Mk, Chris, Casey, Ben Brown, Mango Street, Matti Hapooja and a lot more and your channel is the ONLY ONE I have with the notification bell. Theres something about your videos that makes me want to see more. You talk very smooth to the camera and that makes it so easy to watch. Thank you for the great tips on making more money, super helpful =)
P.S
My biggest struggle right now is that where I live, the biggest income as a photographer/cinematographer is making weddings which I want to avoid. I really want to make commercials but dont know how to start and every time I think about this I just get so stressed I end up doing nothing.
I wanted to respond to this days ago but had poopy wifi when I saw it! THIS IS SO NICE!! I really appreciate your nice words Mario. :) I'm so glad you're finding value in these.
In response to your biggest struggle - honestly we all feel like this. We want to do a different type of work and stop loving the first kind of job we got that's making us money. Totally normal! I would suggest 1. Putting that intention out into the world which you're already doing! Tell everyone this is what you want to do and try making contacts in that field so you can keep learning from those already doing those gigs. 2. Try making similar productions just for fun and post them online! Then you have an example of what you can do to show potential/future clients.
Hope this helps!
Client communication time. Good one. Also, charging for additional rounds of notes is a big one.
This is so so so helpful, especially as someone who's trying to learn more about this industry in general.. Thank you for making this 😄🔥
I would like to see the final Toyota ad. Also the Volvo one you guys did. Do you have links to them?
Spot on Lizzie! I worked as a digital marketer but is into photography, we use the tips you gave and they work like wonders! Hoping to actually make my hobby into a biz but I still am not sure how or where to start. I really love how you are so real in your videos. Keep it up girl! ❤️
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and helping creators. That was another awesome video.
I appreciate this (and really all) video. I'm no where near far enough along to be making my living off my photography, but I've recently had friends seek me out to comission some work. from me. These are great things to think about as I attempt to move forward from hobby to side hustle and eventually, full time.
Thanks Lizzie, you're the best.
Another amazing video. I am looking forward to using these tips... oh I look forward to seeing more of your legendary videos.
Love your guys content together. Big fan of you both. I have mostly done stuff with car photography / videography past couple years but recently got into portraits and shooting with people. Friends and referrals seem to like my work and have asked about weddings lately. Could you guys do a video about how to photograph a wedding or a tutorial on best plan of action to go about that. I am confident in my abilities, however just a nervous feeling because it's people's big moments! lol. Thanks! Keep up the videos!
I loved this! I am so bad at selling myself short. Itemised budgeting sounds like the future so clients can see where the money is going and why
Hustlers! Making UA-cams during client shoots. 🤑🤑🤑 Communication time fee! Didn't think about that! Such helpful tips again Lizzie ❤️
I'm starting my business these months and this video was soooo helpful! Great tips 🙏🏻🙏🏻
So much great information here! Pricing is so hard sometimes... Thanks for offering perspective!
Awesome video Lizzie. This is definitely something I'm thinking about in the future...after the travel vlogging adventures are over. I'm actually coming to Canada next March...would be cool to meet you and Chris. I've learned a lot from you both so that would be awesome. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the video and advice.
Thank you for featuring my music in your video Lizzie, much love
They're great tracks! Thanks for offering to let me use them. :)
Great tips thanks great video! 👌😌
Just subbed! I found your channel from the Becki and Chris channel! I'm new to youtube but I'm a professional who started a channel with free imovie templates for people with no skills or software. I love your style 👊
Keep these videos coming!! Always watching you and Chris
Can't stop won't stop!! Thanks for watching :)
No idea why you haven't popped up in my recommendations until now but I'm shotgunning this stuff right now.
Great tips in this video. Thanks a lot, stuff I've been thinking about lately.
I freaking love these videos! Everything about them just puts a smile on my face
Great Job finding the loudest places to film at ...reminded me of a Marine calling in an airstrike in the middle of a battlefield.
Do a live Q and A on business tips?
Me when Lizzie posts a new video 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sooo much great tipps and content here, well done Lizzie! Many greetings from Germany, Daniel
That extra edit was such a good idea! I'm working on a stop motion for a baby's toys' company and I will try to offer different edits for them. I tell you later what happend, but thanks in advance!

This is amazing! Thank you
Love your Foo Fighters t-shirt!
And thanks for the tips!
Thnx! great information!
Dayum, Lizzie, your videos are awesome!
Great tips on time management and where and how to charge.
Question: while you have the car for the video shoot do you have to take the insurance or Company provides that?
Love that edit out of the guy at 1:27
Hey that music artist you used is from Oakland, my town! Great video. My biggest challenge is doing this creative work, and keeping my day job (career). Hard to grow it without committing 110% . But my career good to me. Ah well.
That's awesome! Yeah he reached out to me and sent me some of his tracks to use. :)
I agree it can be hard. But honestly it never goes from zero to 100 you just kinda keep increasing the commitment level over time. But it does mean that other things will have to go on the back burner. Really depends on your priorities - which change often!
This is gold!!!!!!!!
Do guys will keep the Production Company or are you planing oneday to only do UA-cam and selling your own Products? cheers Daniel
This is great stuff! Pure value and gold. Thanks for making great content 👌🏽
Thanks Javier! Glad you found it helpful :)

Great video! Where is that parking garage?
Downtown Toronto!
Lizzie Peirce I was looking for the address... want to go grab some car photos there ;-)
I'm struggling with choosing the ideal client to work with and charge a valuable price.
Hi Lizzie!
oh hello there!
Great tips Lizzie!
Thanks David!
0 dislikes because you're flawless of course
2:24 though :D - Anyway, lovely video, more more more !
Great vid 💯
This is worth its weight in gold...wait video doesn’t really have weight. Duration? Worth 12 mins of gold?
Look, the video is really good is what I’m saying. Thank you!
6 Figs... i cant eat that fruit! ??? i dont know what i meant by that but great vid! ill charge for everything~
This was extremely helpful! Thank you for the peace of mind!
Anyone know of good laptop for editing ?
Linda esa gringa :)
Is that licence plate registered? You might want to blur that no? Also I would recommend burying you "phone communication time" in some production costs. I've been on the agency/client side where I've seen production companies get denied because the agency account executives doesn't feel communication time between production and client is an efficient use of funds.
Quote a bit higher and in many ways that plays to the production companies advantage, if they're worth it.
Modern Slice I actually list “client meetings & communication” within my preproduction cost line in my estimates. Budgets are different and we keep those to ourselves.
Also it’s a rental car - I wouldn’t worry about it. :)
Nice! Good answers. Thanks for taking the time.
👍👍👍👍👍
😊🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Why not 7 figure?
RubixMan99 because I don’t make 7 figures... yet :)
