A better way than trying to re-align the template with the pencil marks when taping it down after cutting the initial hole is to clamp scrap blocks on all 4 sides of the template so you can just drop it back into place.
Ideal for a home made router table top but not for retrofitting to a table saw extension (SawStop) which is what I want to do as you'd have to totally unbolt and remove the extension to be able to flip it over rather than cutting the opening out in place, otherwise I like the Infinity solution.
With most tablesaw side tables, the table itself will need to be removed and modifications made to the bracing regardless of how the opening for the plate is cut. With our template system the only part of the process that is done form the bottom is the final trimming of the opening. This is the least critical part of the process and the opening could be cleaned up by other means if the table cannot be removed.

Absolutely, you just need to make sure your lifts plate measures 9-1/4" x 11-3/4".
