Jim's the most standup dude. When recruits ask him about leaving he told them "you never know what tomorrow holds, commit to Michigan, not to me." How many coaches would do that? SO many scumbags would tell recruits what they wanted to hear.

49er fan here and I love Jim Harbaugh, I was so upset when we fumbled it and lost him, but so happy for his success. It's harder to root for him now that he is coaching another team in the NFL lol but glad he got another chance
His interviews when he got fired were great.
And, the KNBR takedown interview on the owner was hall of fame worthy.

I love Jim Harbaugh, also as a 49er fan! He's great for the sport and no one can deny he is 100% all about football. He doesn't need the money. He is there for one reason and one reason only, to win a SB. I don't think the ownership of the Chargers will ever hold the Lombardi Trophy, but I do think the Chargers just got a hell of a lot better. Enjoy the ride Charger fans!

2006 was the Super Bowl title that got away from the Chargers. If they hang on to beat NE I think they beat the Colts in the AFC title game. And they would have smoked the Bears in the SB.
Michigan fan here, and very sad to see coach go. He most certainly is a players coach. He has shown this in both the NFL and college football. Also, I find it both refreshing and humbling for him to proudly express his belief in God and Christianity. I wish the very best, with the Chargers.

Jim cemented his legacy as a great coach and shut a lot of people up. Once he wins a Super Bowl he’ll go down as one of the greatest coaches of all time.

As a Chargers fan.. hearing that he is focusing on improving the run game is music to my ears. A healthy Herbert with better protection and a run game would definitely close the gap between us and the Chiefs and Ravens.

As a life long die hard SAN DIEGO Chargers fan, I am HYPED to have JH as our HC! The only big time HC we've ever had - that was already big time when we hired him - was Marty Schottenheimer. Coach Harbaugh is going to make the Chargers a winner, and I would bet Super Bowl champs within the next four years
the AFC West just got a lot tougher, might have the best HC group in the entire league.

@Steve Jamieson, yes it is VERY possible that Jim was headed back to the NFL when the “right” opportunity presented itself. His ultimate goal is that Lombardi trophy. With his competitive drive, my guess is that he will not be completely satisfied, until and unless he can lift the Lombardi trophy. I still will miss him along the sidelines in Ann Arbor and other collegiate sidelines this fall.

As much as I admire and respect Jim Harbaugh as a charger fan for over 30 years. , hyping the Chargers, who have the ability to constantly let you down. Besides the Detroit Lions ill be rooting for Harbaugh to get one Superbowl ring if they aren't playing each other. Happy for Harbaugh and the as Harbaugh put it "Michigan West" Chargers. Great the chargers colors are slightly similar. Makes it easier to root for them
Ohio State fan - early in harbaughs career, thought he was incredibly overrated. Have to give huge props to the guy for looking in the mirror and making real changes in how he operates. More than anything- he is for sure quirky, but truly passionate about the sport of football. In this Era, you have to really appreciate that
