Desmond is a great Michigan man. He and I were both students at the same time, so I was in the student section for all those amazing games in the early 90s. While ive always liked college football, Desmond made me really love college football. Nowadays , I enjoy working all the home games, at the big house. Go Blue!

I remember being a grade school kid at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic school in Ann Arbor Mi. Desmond came to speak to us at the school. I think I was in 7th grade. Would have been maybe December of 1991 or winter of 1992. We all were shouting for him to make the Heisman pose. He very humbly said something like, “no I don’t don’t that anymore”. I think we thought maybe Bo was on him for doing the pose. But now I look back and think he was a Michigan man of greatness and humility. Funny the things that stick with you. Go Blue!
I had the pleasure of meeting him at a game he called back in Louisiana. I took a pic with him and asked for him to do the heisman pose and he said the same thing. He was nice about it and had a big smile while we took the picture.
I remember being a grade school kid at St. Thomas in the 60's and high school kid in the early 70's and the football players didn't come talk to us, but our High School Track coach was "DC"; Don Canham Jr. A great guy and great coach. Track practice was on Michigan's track at "Ferry Field" outside Yost Arena. Those were fun times.
Oh, and DC's School record 100 yard dash time was listed among other records on the wall of the Gym.

His record probably dated to the early 60's and was probably 10.1 in the 100 yd dash. They don't know what a 100 yd dash is anymore...and I doubt his record would stand for 60 years. @@journeywithjeff1579
I believe Mikey Sainristil will follow in similar footsteps maturity wise as Desmond Howard.
Sainristil is woodson 2.0.

Sanristil is a future NFL Hall of Famer.

The uniqueness of the mental makeup of this team as Howard points out, makes me think Corum was the leader of this team. Unusual, usually the QB, but JJ has enough humility to share that role with Blake.

Have to give thanks to some of the radio station talk show hosts in Detroit that are sparties. They were big on being disrespectful to Harbaugh. This was helpful to galvanize the team

Most people don’t know this but Desmond played G baby in the movie hardball.
The last 4 Big 10 national title teams were Michigan in 2023 and 1997 and Ohio State in 2014 and 2002.
3 of those teams, 1997 Michigan, 2014 Ohio State and 2023 Michigan beat Nick Sabin on their way to the titles.

How can you hate on Des? He is a stand up guy. One of the greatest we ever seen in college history and he won at the next level. He is a solid and fair announcer for ESPN (Everyone Sux P Nis) whom I do not care for or even watch outside of college football. Stop the lame comments about the guy and just be respectful.
