The biggest thing that people don't realize is that he was never good at basketball. AT ALL. When he was this so called "basketball prodigy" as a child, he was only going viral and famous at a young age because he was just really good at dribbling fast and had really good ball handling for his age. All he does is just showcase his fast dribbling and he has no control of it sometimes because he goes way too fast for his own pace. His ball handling for an 11 year old and the range on his shot was ELITE. Then he got older, never got much better, and didn’t get much taller either. Once he was at the age where guys are hitting puberty and getting crazy growth spurts, he simply couldn’t keep up anymore. And that’s not even talking about his atrocious personality and play style. And we are seeing the problems in real time... in the NBA. so many players who love their stats, and that's all they'll have, because they still don't know how to play on a team.
Those are 3 Division 1 teams vs a small Christian College. The Masters is an elite NAIA team that many low level D1s like Fullerton, Northrodge and Santa Barbara won’t play. When he plays in his conference he’ll do better
This kid and his dad are completely delulu. He just stands there and dribbles hoping to fake out a defender. Its like everything he was taught is completely wrong. He brings the ball up on the wing and instead of looking for a pass jacks up a shot with the defender paying complete attention.
The sad thing is this: Julian Newman could have been a good player. He's clearly got good quickness, fast hands, and a good feel for the ball. But he trained, practiced, and played to create highlights. And he would only play on teams where he could be the number one guy. Like he averaged something like 35 ppg and broke Teddy Dupay's Florida scoring record with two years left in his HS career. But if you go look at the schedule? His teams all sucked. They were getting blown out by very average squads. But instead of doing something about it, the people around him fed into it and hyped all the wrong shit. He wouldn't play anywhere he couldn't go try to create youtube clicks. I always assumed that he had done well money wise and they knew he wasn't going to play at the next level. But watching him beclown himself as a 23 year old walkon at an impossibly low level of college basketball makes me think that, no, they didn't actually understand what was going on. Which blows my fucking mind.
His dad is what people made Lavar out to be. Julian never stood a chance one he is way too small, then his dad enabled him to play a brand of ball that don’t work on any level. His dad didn’t try to help him develop into an actual basketball player he just wanted the attention. His wanted and allowed him too dribble the whole clock out and jack up 30+ shots😂
All I see from the low-lights is how he dribbles through defenders and has wide open teammates, but takes a terrible shot. If he actually tried to be a decent PG, he might now be half bad.

Its clear he just doesn't know how to play basketball outside of doing the same dribble move over and over and over and over and over. Its actually pathetic how bad he is for Division 3.5 or whatever the frick Bethesda is.
This dude is still out here. He never learned how to play the game. Shot selection is horrible, no defense and oh yeah he’s short. Nobody around to give him a reality check. And he’s 23. Let it go. He’s not even taken seriously at a rec league gym
Two things. First the dude needs to be a great assister which he isn't. Second, he needs to bulk up and have crazy hops. He does not have that either which makes him useless. Plenty of small guards his height making a career from basketball. Check up Jordan Crawford in Australia. He plays tough defensive and is very athletic. I do think he has some level talent and likely lacking a lot of confidence which can have a big impact on shot percentage. EIther way though the guy is skinny as hell. Hit the gym properly.

0-17 from 3....He's looking up at Klay Thompson at this point
Bronny vs Newman ….Who yall got ?
