I'm from Lithuania. I followed them while they were playing here. What can I say. If they would have came here to play and not to turn everything into a circus (half of the games they played were organised by Lamar and they were playing basically against school teams) they could have learned a lot playing in a professional league against a grown up men. Lithuanian league is not the steongest in Europe, but half of the teams could compete with G league teams. So potential to learn was there, but instead they made a show putting basketball aside.
Talking about LiAngelo... Then watching him play in Lithuania I was saying he is not an NBA material, but he could be a decent player in Lithuanian league. Not sure about Euroleague. But even in Lithuanian league you can earn much more than in G League.

I feel like out of all the 3 brothers, LiAngelo listened to his dad the most, and Lavar said that the middle one was his favourite. This was his downfall. His Dad gave him the worst advice and he listened to his dad the most. LaMelo listened to his dad the least, and that's why he's the best one, least injury prone, and is going to be the most successful. Your parents love you and want what's best for you but I've learned that they more times than they care to admit , they don't know what's best for you.

Even if he never made it to the NBA, it'd be hard to argue that he completely screwed up his life with his career choices, as was done. It's hard to make money playing ball, especially if you're not playing ball... If he became the face of the British league, like Marbury in China, would anyone say he screwed himself? Imo there’s thousands of hoopers globally who can play the 10+ man on an nba team. U r very replaceable so even a small mistake like stealing something small will and honestly should cut NBA career short if u don’t got atleast important role player talent the moment u step into the league (regardless of age).
If he wants to play he’s gonna be a role or bench player in an overseas league. It won’t be fun for him. He can just live off his family and girl and do his own entrepreneurial thing and play pickup when he wnats

He should of went overseas when he left UCLA. Melo played overseas and it helped him develop & get drafted in the NBA, although Melo was was getting drafted regardless. Gelo went long periods not hooping on a pro level, he put a lot of hope into the G League when he should of played pro overseas were he could get lots of minutes & show off his game for NBA scouts

He should have stayed in school to improve his game. The transition to the NBA is not automatic.

At age 25 it DEFINITELY not too late. Your brain is just now fully developed at 25. That's why everything clicks at this age, things seemingly all fall into place. You make better decisions, become more patient. That sort of thing. If Gelo still wants to play in the NBA he can still play the game and the Hornets are restructuring and they need real ballers with heart and Melo can help him get his foot in the door again.

He has nobody to blame for his current situation but himself. 🤷 It's his fault he decided to shoplift in China and ruin his college career and it was his fault he decided to leave the Hornets organization when he did.
