It was so cool,1st time seeing a total eclipse, wow I wish it lasted longer but it was much more amazing than I expected. I'd definitely travel to see that, luckily it was in my back yard today.

I saw it in Avon Lake, OH. Flew up from Orlando to see it. I had extremely high expectations, and it was more than more than I could ever imagine. Like so many comments here, it is something that that you have to experience in person to fully appreciate. I will NEVER forget how I felt experiencing the eclipse.

It looks like there were plenty of real people around them who were having a great experience. When you're in your backyard alone, you've no person to share the experience with, so of course you'll be quiet. If you're at a gathering of thousands of people, you're going to feel the collective energy of the crowd and it results in emotional outbursts, especially during the change of phase into and out of totality. Cheering out loud for a home run is utterly irrational and stupid... and yet with a crowd of tens of thousands of people, it's just what one does. This isn't rocket science.
