This man has persevered for decades as his body decays for the sake of his family and when called to defend it once more he dragged himself out of his deathbed to do so. Viserys is not in his 90's, he died at the age of 52. He was 4 years older then his brother, Daemon.
The reason Aemond lashed out was because Luc laughed at the pork (referring to 'the pink dread') not sure any of y'all noticed it. He was bullied by his nephews and brother through out which made him the most determined.
He also lost an eye. It seems like every one forgets that they took one of his eyes.
Because they are too focused by talking and make jokes during every episode.. 🙄🤦🏻♀️

You guys can miss stuff what their saying by talking and joking during episodes like that.. Why not wait with the talking until the episodes are finished. You can react yes, but talking through the whole episodes are little annoying.. Just my opinion!🤷🏻♀️

As for Helena’s dragon dreams it doesn’t mean everything she says is a prophecy. Her talking about Aegon was just talking but before that she said “beware the beast beneath the boards”

No, I think she does predict what's going to happen. She said her brother would have a dragon when he looks through one eye. He got the dragon and lost an eye. She also says the beast beneath the boards, it foreshadowing what is going to happen with The Queen that never was.

Marketa as always being the one I relate to the most. I was sobbing the entire episode, Viserys truly embodying just a poor 'loved too much' fool. It was enraging to see how things could have been and knowing its all about to go to shit once again. This was a beautifully heartbreaking episode
It’s also interesting symbolism that as viserys has his mask off, the half of his face that is rotting is also the same side of the dinner table where the Hightower’s and his sons sit. And also when Rhaenyra & Daemon come to see him & later Rhaenyra alone... They're on the side that's not rotting away. But when Alicent comes to give him milk of the poppy before he dies, she sits besides him on the side that's rotting away
I noticed/thought about this too! The symbolism of Allicent and Rhae on the sides of him at the bed, court, and the dinner - brilliant.
I noticed this as well! These types of little details is what makes HotD great. I think the fact that Alicent is sitting on the side where Viserys can't see at all (unfortunately) made it even harder for him to discern in his addled state who he was talking to.
On this episode, the Normies discover puberty.
How can you guys laugh and joke around during that Vicerys scene? I was speechless and so emotional throughout the courtroom and dinner scenes.

The crown falling off Viserys was an improvised scene. Daemon was meant to give a toast during the dinner scene as well, but the creators thought Daemon crowning his brother said more than a few words at a dinner table ever could.
Feel so bad for Marketa, and I know it's a YT reaction, it's fine, but, she is having a genuine emotional reaction at a great performance with deep reaching themes, and people around her interrupting it with droll remarks and arch comments etc. The range on Considine and what he brought to that character this season has been the biggest surprise of the show for me.
He was amazing
I dislike watching reaction videos for precisely this reason. People act different when they have an audience. Really detracts from an amazing and moving scene.
Marketa was really watching the show. The others were just competing on who can crack the wisest smart ass joke thinking this makes for a good reaction. Marketa’s reaction saved this reaction video.

I had the same reaction as Marketa. Paddy killed it in this episode. You really feel for Viserys. He just wanted his family to love each other. It's so tragic.

Daemon saying he can keep his tongue was like saying he spoke the truth but he sliced his brain because he was an idiot.
Viserys made me want to cry in this episode, especially when he walked to the throne room to defend and protect his daughter, loved when Daemon helped him up the stairs and put his crown on him. The dinner scene also was sad because they were making toasts and were getting along for a short time but obviously it will be undone.
Paddy deserves all the praise he's getting. He was incredible.
Also poor Rhaenys, she's been through it.

This was one of my favorite episodes of the entire franchise. So amazing and sad. It's the only episode that ever made me cry. The scenes with Viserys walking to the throne, the dinner, and the ending were so powerful.
Someone give Marketa a hug. Whether because she's just really empathetic to Viserys or because she may have a grandfather/father/uncle that she can relate some of this to, the poor girl needs a big hug from ya'll.
Y’all also missed that Haelaena said “Beware the beast below” or something very similar like right before her dialogue about the marriage.
beast below the boards is a reference to corlys who is on a return ship below deck. Overshadowing that he gonna be mad.

The ending is incredibly powerful with the Viserys reaching out as if he sees his first wife one more time right before he dies when he says “my love”. Reminds me a lot of my 100 year old grandfather who passed away last year wanting to be with my grandmother again towards the end. Incredible performance by Paddy Constantine. He better win the Emmy
Not every moment needs to be made into a joke guys, you can watch and appreciate some serious moments without going all Thor love and thunder. Love you guys.

Emma D'arcy is doing a good job, but some actors on this show just steal the show, even when Rhaenyra (as the main character) is on screen. Just my opinion

@@iso460 bc those characters are given those moments. in ep.6 their performance with the delivery scene was perfect, in ep.7 the confrontation with alicent the most expected moment since the trailer aired. ep.8 the moment by viserys bed pleading for his help gave SO much emotional weigh to his entrance later. And although next epsiode we'll see little of them, episodio 10 will be rhaenyra's, 100%, just wait.

I don't think half of you understood what Rhaenyra's kids marrying Daemon's kids mean. Not only House Velaryon would still be ruled by Velaryon BY BLOOD, but also Iron Throne would be ruled by Velaryon BY BLOOD. The brother (Vaemond) was just being unreasonable after that point or was just after taking over the Driftwood Throne for himself.

Viserys was 52 when he died, the leprosy really took a toll on his body and made him look older.
I love your videos. But c'mon guys, you don't have to make a joke on every line or scene. Sometimes you need to be quiet and just appreciate a beautiful dramatical moment on the series. I get the feeling that the blonde girl was the only one committed to feel the impact that this intense and dramatical episode had to offer.

Usually am a big fan if y'all, but I think I am out for watching this show with y'all, lmao. It's hard to wanna watch it with this group when only ONE person seems to be taking it seriously. Gunna stick to just watching funny show's with them I think, I still like this group.
We *did* see the Silent Sisters; way back in the 1st season of GOT. They performed some sort of rites around the body of Jon Arryn & they worked on the body of Ser Hugh of the Vale after the Tourney of the Hand™

There's no way Luke did. He's been out of the red keep for so long, why would he order for that. And besides his expression says it all. He was surprised when they placed a roasted pig right infront of Aemond. Luke no doubt thought it was a funny coincidence which is why he couldn't hold back the laughter. All the more funnier coz Aemond looked at Luke but still didn't see what was right under his nose until he thought something was up coz that was the first time during the dinner Luke looked right at him and was giggling no less.

Plus, Luke never goes out of his way to prank someone like that. The last time he ever brought a pig to Aemond was back when he was a wee lil kid. Who do u think gestured him to participate in the prank, who do u think came up with the idea? That's right, Aegon. So stop accusing Luke of something he didn't do.
It is so sad. It finally felt like Alicent and Rhae started to see eye to eye there for a moment, but the opposing views have already spilled over to new generation 😭😭😭

Honest to god, I teared up 3 different times this episode. That hasn't happened since my first viewing of the Red Wedding. Paddy does such an amazing job to show you how sad and destroyed (physically and mentally) this king is.
He's a family man, yet his family hates each other. That's an absolute tragedy 😭
I'm pretty sure Deamon makes sure that there's a chair in every room just so that he doesn't have to stand whenever Alicent is around.
As for whether Viserys believes Rhaenyra is fit for the throne, *he got up and walked when he was in searing pain and dying* to support her and her sons.
As for Daemon? He never wanted the throne - it was always Rhaenyra and, in that moment, when Daemon *could* easily take the crown and doesn't, Viserys knows it. Daemon is wild and a bit uncontrollable, but he's *loyal.*
As for Rhaenys - she's loyal to what may be her dead husband's memory; if he lives, great - if he doesn't, she hasn't dishonoured his memory. So she'll do all the shit she needs to for his memory, his brother be damned. It'll be *her* granddaughters as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms *and* Lady of Driftmark, so she'll do it. Not bad. Not bad at all.
You know a tv series is great when you're sad that there's only 2 episodes left in the season

Viserys entering the court made me tear up too. That scene is incredible.

the three eggs Deamon took are not the three eggs that will be given to Dani, those eggs were stolen a long time ago by Alyssa Farmen and were the eggs of Dreamfyre. This three eggs are meant for Deamon and Rhaenyra's children (Ageon, Viserys and the child she is pregnant with in this episode)
Just found out the scene where Viserys’ crown fell and Daemon picks it up and puts it back on Vizzy, was unscripted… The crown accidentally fell and Matt Smith went to pick it up and Paddy went along with it. I’m gonna cry, Paddy and Matt are literal goats
I'll admit that I had doubts about Paddy Considine's casting as Viserys, yet 8 episodes later his acting is at GOD tier in the GOT universe.

I cracked up when the pig was brought out in front of Aemond. If that was my family, it would have been a riot of laughter. However, Alicent has poisoned her kids so much, they couldn’t move on.

Has Pat ever known any single other person from childhood to adulthood? The idea that if you're short when you're 10 then you're short as an adult might be one of the most insane things even Pat has ever said, God love him. The fact that I've been basically average height for my age my whole life is more of an anomaly than a drastic change in height through puberty
Funny thing is how many times its the opposite. As a kid, I was always the tallest. Then I ended up stalled as a 5’5 dude in adulthood.
