So Helaena, the woman at the end who ran with her remaining child is a dragon dreamer. It’s practically having premonitions, dreams or visions of things before they happen and they can often be prophetic. We can see this when Helaena mentions a “beast beneath the boards” which was Rhaenys coming through with her dragon during Aegon’s coronation. We get another example in this episode when she mentions being afraid of the rats, which is a nod to the man (cheese) who said she was “telling true” as he is the castles rat catcher. Helaena often also struggles to get a grasp or understanding of what she has dreams about and many just believe her to be crazy because when she does speak of them they don’t make much sense, as you saw in the episode. When Daemon is also meeting with Blood and Cheese (the two men who offed Helaena’s son) he mentions that they might have an issue with confronting Aemond due to him being a good warrior and then they ask what if they can’t find him before it cuts to another scene. It’s assumed by a lot of people that after they asked that Daemon replied with a son for a son and just settled for getting one of the king’s children in turn. In the books instead of the necklace, Helaena offers herself instead but I like the differences they have in the show. Anyways, Helaena along with her children are probably the only innocent people on team Green that really didn’t deserve anything that happened to them. Her story is a tragic one for real. 😭
I hated that they didn't show the only time that Helaena showed courage, when (in the book) she offered her own life if Blood & Cheese would spare her child(ren). I think that makes more sense than her offering of a necklace.

@Playradise it's not that Helaena didn't want her boy to be king, but she was afraid for him and didn't like how Aegon was trynna raise him. It doesn't mean she premeditated her own son's murder. She literally chose to tell the truth coz that way they could get away and Helaena could atleast have saved her daughter and herself from further harm. Otherwise, all three could've possibly been killed if they got pissed off by a different answer.

fun fact, because ser criston cole and alicent were getting groofy, Criston called off all the Kings/queens guards , and Criston cole normally protects the Queens chambers, [Aka helaena]
They made Helaena basically neurodivergent and in a different state of mind. I know people wanted her to scream but her expressions really shines here. Phia did such a wonderful job.
I was actually feeling scared for a second there before they transitioned to Helaena barging into Crispy Cole banging Helaena's mom and the latter having a low tier reaction.😂😂😂
Aemond was the primary target. Aegon's heir was the secondary target, It was a reason why they did not show Daemon response to Cheese when he mention what if they cannot find Aemond.
Helaena (the Queen/Aegon’s wife) didn’t save the daughter to protect her from the crown. She pointed out the boy because Cheese said if she didn’t point him out they would kill both children. It was either lose her son or lose both her children, an almost impossible choice.
In the books the Blood and Cheese was far worse. Blood and Cheese had a more elaborate plan where they held Alicent hostage and waited for Helaena to visit with the children. They forced Helaena to choose who to kill, Aegon’s first son Jaehaerys or his second son Maelor. Helaena chose to save Jaehaerys because he was the heir (being more valuable) and hoped that Maelor was too young to understand what was going on. So Blood and Cheese told Maelor that his mother wanted him dead and killed Jaehaerys instead. Maelor was old enough to understand and remember what happened and Helaena became distraught over her son’s death and her guilt for choosing to kill her surviving son.
yeah she's a bit eccentric nothing wrong with that🍀 the helaena slander must stop I swear🥲🌻 people be making fun of my girlie for no reason..sure she's a bit odd but the best kind of odd ⚡
@@mememachine147 I know this scene was underwhelming for some of y'all i can understand..but I personally am content with how it went down..the show portrayed the helplessness in helaena's eyes perfectly because of how she was forced to choose between her children...her reaction to it all aligns with her character in s1...and I don't think some people would've taken this scene very well if it was done by the book⚡ but still.. helaena slander hurts lol
They completely misunderstood what Helaena did……she didn’t “sacrifice” Jaehaerys because “she didn’t want him to be king.” They were gonna find out who the boy was anyway (they threatened to undress the kids) so they would have known if she lied and possibly all of them would have been killed. Helaena assumed they would think she was bluffing (like Blood did) but Cheese knew she was telling the truth. But she never wanted the son to die because she didn’t want him to be king. That’s a huge reach of a conclusion honestly 😭
Helena see’s visions and speak metaphorically. In the books; I believe they said Daenys the dreamer was the one who saw a vision about the doom, magic runs through Targaryen blood which explains the tie to dragons and wanting the bloodline to be pure by insect. Luv y’all content tho🤎🤎🤎
You guys saw that after saying that she is afraid of the rats she looked directly at the cradle of little Jaehaerys, she had a prophetic dream about the death of her own son. And before Aegon entered the room, Helaena said, "They just want the boy."
Don't forget Helena is clairvoyant and she seen her options and how things were gonna play out. So when it happened she immediately got detached and went into shock
Helaena gets visions about the future (ex; "he'll have to close an eye" in response to Aemond wanting a dragon). A theory I've seen is that Helaena thought she was actively in a vision when Blood and Cheese happened. That's why she said "no" afterwards because she realized it was real
Nephew? That’s Rhaenyras brother, Aemond, Aegon, and Helaena are siblings of Rhaenyra or were you guys talking about Daemon. Also Blood and Cheese was all orchestrated from Daemon. Cheese asked him what if we can’t find him (Aemond), then Daemon smirks at both of them implying to kill another son. That’s why both the assassin were so compliant with killing a kid.
They ask what should they do if they fail to find aemond and then the camera cuts away as daemon smiles, then they say, he said a son for a son, something that we never hear daemon say but I doubt these two dudes just came out with that, daemon clearly is to blame for this
Yeah nah read the book 4 times, them going bar for bar with that scene would have been horrible especially for child actors, glad they did what they did-
Yes Roshi, don't stop your boat and they'll just follow you until you run out of food and water if they don't just throw fire arrows and burn your boat down 😅
They actually tamed this scene down from the books. In the books both children are awake and they make Helana chose. She choses and then they kill the opposite child. After they kill the child they look at the surviving child and say to it - See there, your mama wanted you dead. So it was like a double edged blow that the child would never forget and tortured Helena.
Roshi, if you wanna know how easy it is for another ship to board yours, play sea of thieves with friends. You will soon find out at night, during storms or fog, literal boats can sneak up on you as well.
I just started reading the books and what's cool is that at this point in time cregan stark just had to handle his uncle for trying to usurp the throne of the north. That's why cregan speaks with such honor and responsibility.
16:10 I think a lot of it is also Jace was the one that suggested for Him and his brother to personally go as messengers for the Great Houses. (Jace would blame himself for his brother’s death.)
im not sure if anyone has commented this but in the novel: Aegon & Halaena already had 3 children by this point; the 7 year old twins Jahaerys and Jahaera, and 2 year old Maelor. when Blood and Cheese arrived in her chambers, they told her to choose either of the sons to kill as she "had a debt to pay". she was very reluctant and told them to take her life instead but eventually chose Maelor because perhaps he was still little and wouldn't remember a thing. they then told him "you hear that boy? your mother wants you dead" before beheading Jahaerys in his stead. it's crazy how HBO didn't stick 100% to the source material but still managed to capture how dark and grim the circumstance was. unfortunately they diluted it with goof grandma and superbad's sex scene :/
Seeing Rhaenyra, Helena and syrax losing their babies is so gut wrenching also did you notice Helena walked the same path Rhaenyra walked up the stairs while leaving a trail of blood after giving birth. Loved seeing the Young Stark lord😢
I don't think Helena made any "choice". She froze up, panicked and pointed at the son. She knew if she said the daughter and they found out, they would kill all 3 of them. She did what she could and escaped with her daughter.
Not sure if you guys know this, but, both Rhaenyra and her dragon were grieving when they found the remains. Arax was Syrax’s hatchling. She wasn’t feeling her riders pain, she was feeling her own.
I don’t think anyone is this show is evil. I find that too be a very honestly shallow representation of all the characters in this show. We can’t really view these times with modern lens . They all have their reasons, goals, morals and etc. some are definitely more evil than others but I think most of them are just…idk
@@flameron1 both sides dont really care about the realm and the people in it, they just want power and revenge for their own families, and the people of the city are paying the price.
In the books this was slightly different because they made the mom choose between her two sons (there was an extra toddler boy who doesn't seem to exist in the TV version) but I'm wondering if they changed it to make succession a more interesting question within the Green faction. The succession question in the Dance is essentially- does the king's word decide who his heir is or is it decided by precedent from previous choices that have been made when there was a question of succession? If the king's word decides, Aegon is a usurper but if Aegon's saying he's the rightful heir due to precedent... then he has to pass over his daughter and make his brother Aemond his heir, since the precedent they're following places a king's brothers above his daughters. So by giving him only a daughter left instead of her & the other son, now Aegon's got to make a choice to choose his daughter (undermining the strength of his own claim against Rhaenyra) or pass her over for his brother.
Well at the start they (the greens and the kingdoms) went with the female heir over the kings brother, its not tell the king had a son that people changed ship over too the son. I think they just changed this too have this part be very different cause son for a son would work with either. In the books blood and cheese made her choose just too mess with her I guess and they killed the one she didn't choose so she would have to live with the son she knew she choose too die. Kinda not as good as in the books plus the walking in on sex part seemed a bit of bad timing in what was meant to be tense.

The opening titles being a tapestry that shows the entire history of house Targaryen from the Doom all the way to now in the show is beautiful!
fun fact, because ser criston cole and alicent were getting groofy, Criston called off all the Kings/queens guards , and Criston cole normally protects the Queens chambers, [Aka helaena]
This was never confirmed tho. Fan theory. Bit extravagant to call off the guards in two floors just to have some
They made Helaena basically neurodivergent and in a different state of mind. I know people wanted her to scream but her expressions really shines here. Phia did such a wonderful job.
During my reaction, hearing the bone crunching and sawing of the kids heads in my headphones was INSANE. Speechless lol
"Do we slide on the opps tonight" 😂😂
That pic about Naval war had me dying 🤣🤣🤣
Helaena (the Queen/Aegon’s wife) didn’t save the daughter to protect her from the crown. She pointed out the boy because Cheese said if she didn’t point him out they would kill both children. It was either lose her son or lose both her children, an almost impossible choice.
I read that Rhaenyras dragon was the mother of Luke’s dragon, so they both were mourning loss of their sons 😔
Where are you getting that Maelor remembered? Also these accounts are not 100% reliable
Maelor was cut for the show, that's so sad
they better start listening to helaena lmao she a bit off but she'll never tell a lie!
yeah she's a bit eccentric nothing wrong with that🍀 the helaena slander must stop I swear🥲🌻 people be making fun of my girlie for no reason..sure she's a bit odd but the best kind of odd ⚡
@@juno_liishe didn’t fight for her children at all bruh. Book Helaena did though
She going to be like “dolphine” and still going to be left confused.
@@mememachine147 trying to fight B&C would've got them all killed
Weird how there were no guards around anywhere, especially during a war.
And it was in the Royal quarter of the castle, and not a guard in sight.
17:15 somebody turn that into a meme 😂😂
Word!!😂😂
Omg plz!!!!!! "Let it burn" sheera has to happen 😂
Wild how you guys missed bill from warrior being the blacksmith hugh hammer who asked for money to build weapons
Edit: he’s at 11:02
This season is gonna be seasoned
Heavily 😂
Lot of people miss it but rhaenyra was looking directly at daemon when she said she wants aemond so that’s why he went on with the plan
"Put my cape on so i can be supermad" is legitimate genius 💀💀
You guys saw that after saying that she is afraid of the rats she looked directly at the cradle of little Jaehaerys, she had a prophetic dream about the death of her own son. And before Aegon entered the room, Helaena said, "They just want the boy."
Don't forget Helena is clairvoyant and she seen her options and how things were gonna play out. So when it happened she immediately got detached and went into shock
The castle is well guarded on the outside by Vhagar, while on the inside Criston guards Alicent's bed
Those Grey Beards AKA Winter Wolves are gonna be fucking Tough. I can’t wait to see them in action.
10:00 Two mothers were mourning their children's deaths on the beach. Luke's dragon was also Syrax's son. 🥲
Not Bill O'Hara out here making dragon crossbows
Helaena gets visions about the future (ex; "he'll have to close an eye" in response to Aemond wanting a dragon). A theory I've seen is that Helaena thought she was actively in a vision when Blood and Cheese happened. That's why she said "no" afterwards because she realized it was real
3:25 yeah I know about the office elevator, but we’re talking about this medieval show
Aegon lls son was the backup plan if they couldn’t find Aemond. Dameon’s smirk when Cheese asked “what if we can’t find him?” Alluded to that
They were probably talking about Daemon
They figured it out in the full reaction like 2 seconds later just didn’t add it into this video
Lupa always look stressed in these thumbnails😂
They ask what should they do if they fail to find aemond and then the camera cuts away as daemon smiles, then they say, he said a son for a son, something that we never hear daemon say but I doubt these two dudes just came out with that, daemon clearly is to blame for this
No one cares, its war
daemon dont care
He should because that’s one of the reasons Rhaenyra gets kicked out of the city and dies.
@@abdirizakm9426 daemon dont care and all of aegon lines die out while the blacks survive

Like bro the scene wasn't as hyped as I would love it, but did u expect them to show the killing of a child, even d boys I haven't seen it
It's better in the book my guy
Yeah nah read the book 4 times, them going bar for bar with that scene would have been horrible especially for child actors, glad they did what they did-

16:46 "Lisan Al Gaib" LMFAO bro this took me out
Yes Roshi, don't stop your boat and they'll just follow you until you run out of food and water if they don't just throw fire arrows and burn your boat down 😅
10:00 that Dragon translation 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They actually tamed this scene down from the books. In the books both children are awake and they make Helana chose. She choses and then they kill the opposite child. After they kill the child they look at the surviving child and say to it - See there, your mama wanted you dead. So it was like a double edged blow that the child would never forget and tortured Helena.
Yea its a shame they cut all that man. I dont care abt the gore or whatever but the emotional dmg hits harder in the book
Roshi, if you wanna know how easy it is for another ship to board yours, play sea of thieves with friends. You will soon find out at night, during storms or fog, literal boats can sneak up on you as well.
10:00 did the dragon said "lets fuck them up!"?😂
I just started reading the books and what's cool is that at this point in time cregan stark just had to handle his uncle for trying to usurp the throne of the north. That's why cregan speaks with such honor and responsibility.
That laugh track at 19:25 got me. 🤣🤣🤣
Byeee not him saying lisan al-gaib when jace was MOURNINGG 🤣🤣🤣
FYI, 7:08 If yall like Assassins Creed, Allen the man who saved Corlys, his actor played Bayek from Assassins Creed Origins!!!!!!!!!

8:04 "so i can be super mad" lmao bro😂 . Im gonna use that one time for the one time. 😂
I wasn’t ready for that Lisan al Gaib 💀
Criston Cole was the original munch. Crazy….
The way I interpreted the last scene was Haelena pointed out the son because she assumed they'd think she gave it up too easy like one of them did.
“I’m tryna watch bluey tomorrow” 💀💀
@9:27 So am I the only one that saw the caption for the Dragon that said "Let's F them up!"? 🤣
Not sure if you guys know this, but, both Rhaenyra and her dragon were grieving when they found the remains. Arax was Syrax’s hatchling. She wasn’t feeling her riders pain, she was feeling her own.
Big Bill from Warrior playing the Master smith lol
20:16 most violent scene in GoT history lol
this episode just keep proving that both sides are pure evil and that all of them needs to go.
Definitely! They are so toxic except for a few characters who're not corrupted by power and vengeance like Halaena and Daeron.

Great reaction as always. @ 6:00 mark the blade was for Lucerys who was Rhaenyra’s son, not Laenor who is believed “dead”
Damn bro this is the first video I've seen if yours. That intro was insane got my sub immediately 😂🔥
15:26 not sure if yall were talking about Daemon or Rhaenyra murdering but Aemond is Rhaenyra's half brother not nephew
Aemond is both nephew and brother to Rhaenyra because Viserys is also his father and Daemon is Viserys’s brother. She’s his aunt by marriage.
