Reaynor gets eaten by her dragon. By Aeron Targarion who sits on the iron throne, her half brother. It was foretold in GOT 3rd season by the boy King Joffery!
the hilarious part is that the "whore rumor" started with Daemon. Back when he took her to the brothel and people found out. Then he kills Vaemond for calling her a whore. what a psycho
An emmy worthy performance by Paddy Considine. He had me in tears from the moment he entered the throne room until he took his last breath. You could tell Daemons heart was breaking seeing his brother this way and when he picked up the crown for Viserys, it was beautiful and heartbreaking. Just a great episode.
They said that when the king dropped his crown and Daemon picks it up and helps the king to the throne was all improvised by Matt Smith that plays Daemon
Yes, amazing. There are things that cannot be planned, they just happen. And if there's a group of people willing to let it happen...that's what's makes an amazing show. Sure, they put an ass load of money into this. But this show is also allowed to life and breath, have a heart. And this is what RoP lacks.
I wasn't sure if y'all caught it, but Aemond was calling Rhaenyra's children strong bc their father was Harwin Strong. It was a way to call them bastards to their faces w/o it being treason.
@@angelalurtz3638 what? not good reactors then. Just like Aemond got mad before the speech they placed the roasted pig in front of him a call back to his brother and cousins strong to tricking him saying they have a dragon for him and they gave him a pig instead.
I have to applaud the consistent and touching performance of King Viserys throughout the series. He portrayed a truly benevolent and caring patriarch. His speech at the dinner-table was tear-inducing. With his every breath you could feel the sorrow, joy and hope for the people around the dinner table. Even though he was not born a great warrior nor a great conqueror, you believe he would die a thousand deaths if he knew it would save the life of any single person at the table. So with the last ounce of his fading strength, his only plea is that when he no longer has any life to live - nor give, that everyone at the table...simply not strike against the other. So tragic. RIP King Viserys, First of His Name.
I only knew Paddy Considine from Dead Mans Shoes, he was amazing but I thought it was terrible casting when it was announced. Never been happier to be so wrong, he’s been unbelievably good as Viserys
15:45 He came for his baby, his Daughter, his only child with AEMMA, despite the pain . ALL HAIL THE KING VISERYS , blood of the dragon, First of his name, King of the Andals, The Rhoynar & The First men. Lord of the seven Kingdoms & Protector of the Realm !!!
All hail to king Aegon Targaryen Second of His Name King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Successor to king Viserys the peaceful and his rightful heir.
King Viserys is bowed over from the weight of the massive Emmy that Paddy will be winning for this performance! The first time in my life I want to watch the Emmys!
the hooded girl at the end that went to see Mysaria was the girl that brought the tea to the queen in the beginning. one of three ppl that knew about what Aegon did
This was absolutely the most emotional episode for me. I cried when Daemon helped Viserys up the stairs, I cried during the kings dinner speech because you can hear his pain, and I cried when Viserys dies and his final words are "My love".
yeah i cried too cause that happens in real life. During your final moments nurses and family members said the person sees something they cant see and Viserys holding his arm up in the air as if he was reaching for something then saying My Love shows he saw his wife that died in episode 1.
Poor Viserys he hung on as long as he could because he knew it would be chaos for his family and the realm when he died 😢 What a powerful and emotional episode! Also, Daemon. Woah! 🤯
If Paddy Considine (king Viserys) doesn't win a Emmy or a Golden Globe i don't know what to say. I watch GoT , Lord of the Rings and currently watching Ring of Powers and HoTD and in the all three shows and magnificent movies i didn't see a more powerful scene actually scenes . The throne scene and the dinner scene took his acting to a all new level. The moment when Daemon helped him a startet bawling my eyes out. Such a great episode.
16:26 The Wielder of DARK SISTER, Rider of CARAXES, The Prince CONSORT of the heir Princess, Blood of the Dragon & The TRUE BROTHER of the KING, DAEMON TARGARYEN !! 🔥 That's what he really wanted, to be needed by his brother, to be his Hand to help & protect him & the house. It's a shame he only got to do it in the end.
When king Viserys striding toward the iron throne and that sound track...so epic..such powerful scene. Noticed the iron throne didn't cut him this time. Even though the king at his weakest physically he showed his true strength and presence there!
@@bryanxjames1215 It's said that he was cut many times. He has leprosy, which lets small cuts go unnoticed so that they infect and become worse. It's also said that the throne cuts kings who are deemed "unworthy".
This episode was so incredible for so many reasons. Paddy's performance was absolutely flawless and that "My love" at the end broke my heart. But nothing prepared me for Daemon being Daemon and "letting him keep his tongue". Legend🖤🖤🖤
I noticed a lot of reactors missed the "My love" because it was so quiet and they didn't have subtitles on. I cried so much because I'm pretty sure he was reaching for/seeing his first wife.
alicent is really not the villain people think she is...she's been taking care of viserys for like 20+ years and is always the first to run to him and aid him when he's struggling. she cleans his wounds, brings him food and drinks, carries his body weight, smiles at him to comfort him, strokes him tenderly, gently wipes his face (mind you viserys' body is literally rotting at this point, many people would be genuinely disgusted). if she were anything like cersei, viserys AND everyone on rhaenyra's side would be long dead). tbh if alicent were a worse person she definitely would have speed run viserys' death after she became his child bride, having been maritally raped (see ep 4), and being forced to pump out 4 kids (1 isnt in the show yet idk why he wasnt mentioned) as a teenager (children he doesnt even care about). i'd be wayyy more mad than her. she's like that wife with a terminally ill husband who is never appreciated the way she should be (and is somehow resented too). i think she really just wants to be validated and be given a morsel of respect for what her life has been. in the beginning of the series alicent's first line to viserys is "all i wanted was for someone to tell me they were sorry for what happened to me". rhaenyra's toast did just that, she said thank you to alicent and apologized to her as well. IMMEDIATELY after that alicent is softer again, kinder, and much like she was as a young girl
I flippin balled my eyes out this past episode. I always felt so bad for Viserys. He always tried to do good and just have his family get along. And then to have people plotting behind his back while suffering so badly physically on top of it. Just so sad. But glad he had a final stand & a more joyful moment at the end. I guess it hit home for me since I could relate to loved ones not always getting along & am currently dealing with the mortality of my own father. For me, this was the best episode so far.
God the scene where Daemon helps Viserys up the steps so he can sit his throne…. Aside from everything that was pointed out 1. YES. Daemon loves his brother idek why that was ever a question post episode 2. 2. Yes for all their disagreements and personality tension Viserys LOVES his brother. 3. It’s a great moment for them, it was another solid moment for Daemon. But also consider aside from literally everything jerking the emotions about this scene…. Daemon is holding Viserys up by the arm with his right hand. His STRONG right HAND. It’s ALL Daemon I think has ever TRULY wanted… For Viserys to name him to the position of hand so he could do what he does best. Protect his brother. Protect his family. To be anything he needs to be and have the power and authority to do so no matter what he is defending his king and family from be it a rogue prince, a soldier of the stepstones, a monster, or even a makeshift walking stick for his brother to lean on when he is too weary to walk any further on his own… it’s everything Daemon has ever wanted, this moment right here. Daemon: 10 YEARS YOU’VE SAT THE IRON THRONE AND YOU’VE NEVER ONCE ASKED ME TO BE YOUR HAND Viserys: And why would I do that? Daemon: Because I am your b r o t h e r. And the blood of the dragon runs thick. Viserys: Then WHY do you c u t me so deeply? Daemon: I’ve only ever spoken the truth. I see Otto Hightower for what he is. Viserys: An unwavering and loyal hand? Daemon: A c*nt. Daemon: A second son who stands to inherit nothing he doesn’t seize for himself. Viserys: Otto Hightower is a more honorable man than you could ever be. Daemon: He doesn’t PROTECT you I WOULD. Viserys: From what? Daemon: Yourself…
This episode was a difficult watch for myself. I very recently lost my dad to an illness and the similarities here in this episode were heartbreaking for me. But I mean it really truly is a credit to the amazing acting and the effects team. Let’s just say his look this episode is extremely realistic. Thanks for the fantastic reaction to this episode ❤
Once again, having a great time watching your reactions guys. (even though your YT edit skipped the best line of the episode "Say it." lol.) There's another series you might find is a lot of fun to watch, plus it has an incredible prequel as good as its main series. The recommended order to watch the show is it was released (list below). Be warned, it doesn't hold back on the gore and explicit scenes but if you can hack it, it's a helluva ride. Great writing, action, characters, sets, drama, everything. - Spartacus: S01 - Blood & Sand | (13 eps) - Spartacus: Prequel - Gods of the Arena | (6 eps) - Spartacus: S02 - Vengeance | (10 eps) - Spartacus: S03 - War of the Damned | (10 eps)
Alicent and Rhaenyra just got warmed towards each other a bit and now because of this misunderstanding Alicent gonna think her son Aegon is the one Viserys talked about .. But we all know the prince who was promised is Jon Snow( originally named Aegon) and he came from Daemon and Rhaenyra’s side just like Dany
@@kdizzle901 it will probably matter in the books but your right about the show basically discarding that storyline because D and D didn't know how to end the show and rushed because they wanted to move on to other projects
As soon as I watch HotD episodes, I'm like "dang, I wonder what the Badd Medicine guys are gonna think about this" haha these reactions are apart of the whole experience for me lol
“she’s gonna throw him to the swords” wtf? you guys keep thinking that alicent is a Disney evil villain. Yes, she is a bitch but she would never do this to her husband, she is very religious and always performed her duty with devotion and respect. That’s the whole point of her arc.
And yet her best friends are the most evil people in the kingdom and she's raised demonic, evil little troll children. The company you keep says alot about you.
Yes it definitely seemed that he had a short dementia episode or maybe still high off the Milk of the Poppy ..recalled his daughter's conversation. I am sure Alicent knew, that all though she didn't know about the Aegon's Prophecy dream, she made it about Prince Aegon (her Aegon). I like the idea that Rhaenerya named her son Aegon as well, to add even more confusion to the plot. But how long before we get to see what war this starts up?
I am loving watching this series with you guys, always a great time. Daemon ( spelling??) be-heading that guy was just a highlight for sure, savage. Lol
I was 100% convinced it was poison from the start. BUT, the showrunners apparently have said otherwise and the chambermaid lives. I guess we'll see by the end of this season or for a twist in the next.
I worried and def thought it might be. But to me it’s open for interpretation. I have heard show runners said it wasn’t people have said but I haven’t seen that said by them. If not in show clearly I think up to us to decide for ourselves. Either way she’s protecting her rapist son so doesn’t matter she’s a hypocrite especially pretending to be so religious.
Daemon & Aemond look more like father & son than Viserys & Aemond do - LOL. During that epic stare down between them, their inner thoughts were probably "Geez, it's like I'm looking in the mirror at my younger/older self." Similar features & "don't take no shit" personalities in both the uncle & nephew. During the throne room scene, You can see how Aemond admired the way Daemon handled the disrespect that Vaemond was showing by calling out Rhaenyra & her sons and flat out insulting the King to his face. Oh yeah, he's gonna die now but that was pretty bad ass scene. Ok, well bye-bye Vaemond, it was nice knowing ya... 😵 It's getting difficult keeping all these "aemon" names straight & now we have another Aegon (the younger) to confuse with Alicent's Aegon. I need to start writing all this down, my old brain can't keep up. 😄Plus another little Viserys, but he's just a toddler & old Vis is gone now so... The scene of him fighting to walk on his own to the throne, the bedside scenes with Rhaenyra, & then his death upon seeing Aemma again were so sad. But the one that really got me was when Daemond stepped up to help Viserys to the throne & then that shot of him placing the crown back on his brother's head. OMG - made me 😭 with no Kleenex tissues nearby, dagnabbit!
People may see aemond as a brat , but for entertainment , he’s just badass and entertaining as hell to watch . His stoic vibe and his stare with one eye is just cool as hell .
Placing Rheneyra in front of the throne so it looked like the long walk was to her and not the Iron Throne was brilliant. That long walk brought tears to my eyes
WOW. Now THAT, was an entrance! Alicents green dress who?? I had tears swelling in my eyes watching viserys muster all his strength to defend his daughter. The kings arrival motif being played so triumphantly as he tells Otto to gtfo his chair is beautiful. Ramin does it again - creating stunning pieces to elevate the great writing and acting. Nothing compares to a father's love for his daughter. I could (and have) watch this scene over and over again.
One more comment... This episode brought back so many memories of when my father died from cancer. That moment when Daemon is clearly shocked and in pain, seeing his brother's deterioration over the years- I've lived that exact moment. Brilliantly acted, and such a well-written episode. I think HOTD may do the impossible and top GOT.
Vaemon should have been happy with the girls marrying their cousins. Luc and Rhaena would have kids. Which means after 1 generation, a True Velaryon would be seated on the Driftmark throne. He didn't see long term. I think that's why Princes Rhaenys was happy with it. Her actual granddaughters would be on both thrones. Vaemon might have been too power hungry to want that or just not wise enough to see that he just had to wait a generation for true Velaryons to rule Driftmark.
There’s a theory that the family was arguing the entire dinner but in Viserys’ last moments he just imagined everyone getting along in his delirium. That’s why everyone seamlessly start fighting as Viserys gets carried out
The dinner scene was a masterclass of building trepidation through melancholy. Viserys watching the kids in a last dance before the Dance. Fleeting moments of bliss. Everyone hoping for the best, expecting the worst. For something so uneventfully peaceful, the passing was one of the most foreboding & viscerally filmed deaths I've seen. Book Viserys also doses off to the great beyond in his bed, after telling stories to grandkids. The king who was most unlike Aegon the Conqueror in life ends up being most like the Conqueror in death. Ok enough jokes. Now the serious stuff. "You're no son of mine" - Alicent getting crossbowed in the loo on mother's day confirmed. Ep 9 is The Green Council😱!! Cue the Hoes Mad beat😤!! Our religion, tradition & patriarchy upholder Queen Mother & our redpiled Homelander King will make Westeros great again🙃/s
Food for Thought... Maybe?! The King referring to Rheanerya as his only child is important. This is why half of his face is rotten - he lost an eye after his child lost an eye. Also - This series has always played with our perceptions of what is good and bad and what drives us to defend characters (good or bad). Aemon and Daemon are reminders to the viewers that they are actually family - Daemon smirks as his mini me walks away because he sees the similarities. Both rogue princes will probably defend their families fiercely which is a shame because, they Are family - Targaryen.
The Oak's "This is it" was funny😂 and Mason thinking the queen was going to push the king into the swords was funny as well🤣 This episode was amazing, I have called Viserys weak and a bad king but when his daughter needed him he came to her rescue, also, he only wanted to be good and make the right choices, it is a shame the evil side of humanity makes him be seen as a weak king. He was amazing in this episode. Also, am I the only one who thinks the three eggs Daemon found are daenerys' dragons??
One of my favorite moments of symbolism is that at the dinner, Alicent, her kids, and her father were on the side of the King where his face was rotten and dying or dead, while Rhaenyra, Daemon, and their kids, were on the side where Viserys's face was fine and normal.
I think when Helena said "beware the beast beneath the boards", she wS referring to the board on which the king was building the city prototype. As you may noticed there is always some sort of smoke coming out from it. It maybe that tbere is a dragon egg laying there on hot stones or coal.
Show runners confirmed that Alicent gave Dyanna moon tea. I'm a little confused why people think she'd kill Viserys though. I like her so maybe I'm biased but I think for all of her actions against Rhaenyra, she's always been at Viserys' side.
@@marti9734 Yeah, Alicent would know better than to outright kill him. Better to keep him drugged to the eyeballs so she can rule instead of her son. They don't credit her enough for being sneaky and underhanded, but subtly so.
Bit random but I thought I'd share with you guys that there is a House Appleton in Westeros (look on the wiki of ice and fire). We basically know nothing about it other than they're from the Reach and their sigil has two apple trees on yellow and two grey gatehouses on white.
The problem was they let their kids listen to their own hate issues, they raised the next generation within those oppositions so even if the adults make peace- the kids won’t have such an easy time since they were raised with it. “One eyed brat” 💀 yall funny. Honestly as a kid Aemond was actually kind and probably the best, but he had enough bs so I guess he acted to others the way he got acted to post conquering his dragon. He’s quite a menace and we see since his young days he had his sight set on the bigger things than unimportant ones. Intrigued since he’s def a Targaryen, and we see Daemon see himself in him. (Although when daemon was Aemonds age he was more of an Aegon, drinking and poking fun / arrogant)
*HEAVY* *BOOK* *SPOILERS* When Daemon wrote Aemond a letter telling him to meet him in the Gods Eye, it took TWO WEEKS for Aemond to respond. I don't know how long it takes ravens to fly from one place to another. I understand these aren't text messages or email. But 14 days is telling me Aemond is the one looking scared. The happiest times for Daemon are the years between the time jumps. They're off-screen. His 10 years with Laena and their twin daughters in Essos. He was at peace. His first 6 years with Rhaenyra in Dragonstone. Did you see how happy he looked about those dragon eggs? Never seen Daemon smile so big and look that excited. Fatherhood changed him. But this is a drama. No episode can be written if no conflict or fighting. Rhaenyra will lose that third child with Daemon in her belly but Syrax laid three eggs. Perfect number for Daemon's kids so that's one for Rhaena, Aegon III, and Viserys II although the latter doesn't get a dragon. Rhaena will have Morning and Aegon III will have Stormcloud. Viserys II's bloodline will produce Daenerys and Jon Snow/Aegon. I'm actually not even looking forward to Daemon vs. Aemond. I think most people already know who wins and GRRM is going to be pro-Daemon since that's his favorite Targaryen. If Aemond still had two eyes and fought on the ground, I'd still have my money on Daemon. The one I'm looking forward to more is does Daemon live or not? Did he get swallowed by Caraxes or Vhagar by accident? Body was never found. I don't mind if they keep it a mystery forever. Let our imaginations run wild with it. But I wouldn't be too shocked if we do see a final scene of him in Pentos. Of course people will ask, why leave Aegon III and Viserys II there in Westeros? Question his fatherhood again. Perhaps Daemon will live in Pentos and tell Baela and Rhaena to help raise his sons there? They do act like loving older sisters to Aegon III. Daemon seems to hate Westeros from all the political scheming as he told Laena in Ep 6 and never wanted the throne from Viserys or Rhaenyra. He's only back there to help Rhaenyra as he's all about protecting people he loves. All he wanted in Ep 1-4 was to protect his brother. But he got pushed away. That's why I believe if he does survive, he will return to Pentos and tell his daughters to help raise his youngest sons in Westeros. Daemon is supposed to die before Rhaenyra. But people estimate Rhaenyra will die by the end of S3. If we have 4 seasons, the final season and series finale may NOT have Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy. I don't know how that final season and series finale gets carried when two of the most popular characters are eliminated? HBO isn't going 100% by the book. It's obvious they will alter some things. But I don't see them altering Rhaenyra's death. The Dance of the Dragons lasts from 129-131 AC. Daemon and Rhaenyra die in 130. There are still more events that follows their deaths.... - The Moon of the Three Kings - Battle of the Kingsroad - Aegon II's Death - The False Dawn - Hour of the Wolf (this involves Cregan Stark) - The Regency of Aegon III That final season will be interesting. All the major characters are gone. Otto got beheaded. Criston gets killed by archers. Alicent is imprisoned and eventually dies in it. Aemond is killed by Daemon as his skeleton was found with Dark Sister through his last good eye years later. Daemon is assumed dead. Rhaenyra gets eaten by Sunfyre. Larys will eventually die. We might lose Daemon and Rhaenyra as early as the end of S3 or no later than mid-S4. Rhaenyra will NOT be in the series finale and who knows what happened to Daemon if he got to live the rest of his life with Nettles in Essos? If he does survive, why did he leave Dark Sister in Aemond's eye socket? Get it back. Baela, Rhaena, Aegon III, and Viserys II or Daemon's children are the only ones introduced in S1 who survives this war. How Daenerys and Jon Snow are related to Daemon and Rhaenyra?? Rhaenrya and Daemon Targaryen are the parents of -> *Viserys II* Targaryen, father of -> *Aegon* *IV* Targaryen, aka Aegon the Unworthy, father of -> *Daeron* *II* Targaryen, aka Daeron the Good, father of -> *Maekar* *I* Targaryen, father of -> *Aegon* *V* Targaryen, aka Aegon the Unlikely, father of -> *Jaehaerys* *II* Targaryen, father of -> *Aerys* *II* Targaryen, aka the Mad King, father of -> Daenerys Targaryen AND *Rhaegar* Targaryen, father of --> Jon Snow The Prince That Was Promised did come from Rhaenyra's line. *AEGON* *II* *SUCKS!* I wasn't disappointed at Aemond but Aegon II? What a joke! And he's the one who gets to live longer than all the major characters with a disfigured face! 🤦🏻♂️ So you're telling us Alicent believes her rapist son who she wants to disown is the one who will unite the Seven Kingdoms? 🤣 🖤 *RODDY* *THE* *RUIN* 🖤 Watch out for him. I think he might be a bigger BADASS than Daemon and Aemond. He's going to be a fan favorite. Moreso than *Cregan* *Stark.* Roderick Dustin is one of those grizzled, old savage warriors. He does die during the Dance but how he dies is badass the way Barristan Selmy did against a bunch of Sons of Harpy.
omg that was something else i didn't catch the first time around was the king thought he was talking to his daughter, i thought he was having a fever dream about the future (G.O.T.) at the end their
1st observation: Did you notice how much this episode's Prince Aemond, Ewen Mitchell, looks like Matt Smith. I would love to know if that resemblance was what got young Master Mitchell the role. 2nd observation: When Daemon sliced off the top of Ser Vaemond's head right above the tongue I shouted out "THAT'S VELARYON STEEL" 3rd observation: I was rooting for King Viserys to hold out until the final scene of the season finale.
It's ironic that the seemingly 'fake' emotions at the dinner was actually the most authentic we've ever seen them. It was the only time they were NOT putting on their masks. It shows that without the line of succession and primogeniture and all this other royal madness mirroring what existed in medieval Europe, these people could've been really good friends. But the system they lived in destined them to murder each other. It's like being born into rival blocks in southside chicago. You don't have much of a choice. The dinner sequence was so despairing because they all knew it was the last moments of solitude, but at the same time they probably did briefly delude themselves into thinking "maybe, just maybe things will work out". They’re all unwitting participants in a tragic theater that’s about to unfold.
This show is at its best when their are no good guys or bad guys just protagonist vying for power, dirtier the better. And man that poor king - reminded me of that old adage; 'its hard for a good man to be king'.
Wish Alicent had thrown Viserys on those swords tbh. She deserves a little treat for serving this man for 20 years and taking care of his decrepit nasty ass.
I haven't read Fire and Blood yet so I'm not sure about the "canonical" evidence for this, but I've read some other comments online theorizing that Helaena, if she were born in our universe/time, would likely be diagnosed somewhere on the Autism spectrum. I am neurodivergent and see some...familiarities...between myself and her behavior in this episode- which is actually really refreshing. (Like with her toast at dinner: I don't think she was tipsy, I think she just...said exactly what she was thinking.) I think the actress' portrayal of this aspect of the character is quite good, if that is indeed the angle they're taking, and the character herself is fascinating with her prophetic dreams! I think she has a much bigger part to play than we have seen so far. :)
I'm sure Viserys feels some resentment towards Alicent and his kids with her since learning that she and Otto manipulated him into a relationship with her. I would. His second marriage never should have happened. He was lied to in order to take his kingdom from his first born child.
The Master of Complaints got served! 🤣🤣🤣 If Paddy Consadine doesn't win an Emmy, I give up. Mad props to King Viserys, the First of His Name!!!! Also, to the makeup department, goddamn!!! With his last words being misinterpreted, it's ON now!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐲🐲🐲🐲🐲❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
Can we maybe not spoil though?? The show never said he died, but they clearly left it hanging for now whether he'd recover or not. Let it play out as the show-runners intended, they didn't ask for your help...
@@TheGodsEye82 well that's an insanely entitled approach to life... Spoilers ruin shit for the reactors as well, but you're right, you're allowed to be a piece of 🐂💩 all you want, technically, I'm just not used to people being proud of that quality... 😬
He said, the prince that was promised, that is you... I don't think he thought he was talking to Rhaneyra (sorry of I misspelled)... would he call her a prince????
It's great storytelling how Vaemond is beheaded and Aemond looks impressed by Daemon's actions. Aemond always had a sick old man as his father. Daemon is like an absent mentor to him. So Aemond's persona, as far as him being a potential problem to Rhaenyra, is the fault of Daemon.
I might be the only one who feels bad for Aegon. He never asked or desired to be King,he never wanted to marry his own sister in his teenage years, and all his mother ever seems to do is hit him for reasons he doesn't understand. Alot of the issues of his character stem from Alicent and how she parents and abuses him.
I know it’s late in the series for this but any chance moving forward you could react to the sneak peek of next episode and inside the making of the episode after the credits?
I was reading about Roddy the Ruin last night. He might be a bigger BADASS than Daemon and Aemond. He's on Team Black. Most of the cool ones are Team Black. 🖤😎🖤
Really interested in how much you guys took against Otto Hightower… the actor is actually someone you’ve seen in another role - as Luna Lovegood’s dad, Xenophilius, in Harry Potter.
you can just tell alicent and rhaenyra had something in the past. the way they still cling to each other after everything that happened… it’s so sad. these girls loved each other and the world tore them apart. also alicent is not a murderer. larys murdered his brother and father to have dirt to blackmail her with, she would never have murdered dyana, and she has been groomed to love viserys so she would never kill him.
King Viserys I Targaryen might not have been a king known to make good decisions but he was a good man who loved his firstborn more than anyone. When Aemma Arryn past away Rhaenyra Targaryen became the most important person in his life and he kept by his promise to protect her. Honestly for me Viserys is the strongest of all the Targaryens mentally he could have easily gone mad like most Targaryens did with everything happening to him but he kept sane throughout the entire season.
"He can keep his tongue" WOW!!!! This show is fantastic! and the poor King... what a chilling end. Is it safe to think that this HOD is better than GOT? Any predictions for the final 2 episodes?

@Skee-Breh! compared to the first season of GoT, i think HoTD is better. Fast paced, great storyline.
I agree
They said that when the king dropped his crown and Daemon picks it up and helps the king to the throne was all improvised by Matt Smith that plays Daemon
Thats awesome!
And it gave us one of the most beautiful scenes.
When the actor understand the character ❤
That moment broke me down into a puddle of tears! Amazing intuition on the actor's part!
Yes, amazing. There are things that cannot be planned, they just happen. And if there's a group of people willing to let it happen...that's what's makes an amazing show. Sure, they put an ass load of money into this. But this show is also allowed to life and breath, have a heart. And this is what RoP lacks.
the scene where viserys walks in the throne room is so epic
I wasn't sure if y'all caught it, but Aemond was calling Rhaenyra's children strong bc their father was Harwin Strong. It was a way to call them bastards to their faces w/o it being treason.
How could anyone miss that
bruh
@@kdizzle901 ask your mother and she'll tell you.
@@kdizzle901 idk, but so many reactors have been 😆
@@angelalurtz3638 what? not good reactors then. Just like Aemond got mad before the speech they placed the roasted pig in front of him a call back to his brother and cousins strong to tricking him saying they have a dragon for him and they gave him a pig instead.
He was definitely talking to Rhaenyra...and now Alicent thinks putting Aegon on the throne is the King's dying wish.
My happiness joined with him when he smiled at the dinner table no matter how short lived it was
Such a good scene! Kind of sucked that they talked through it.
Agreed. He was amazing.
He's not getting back at Aegon by dancing with his wife/sister and his cousin Helena. Everyone ignores so he was just trying to make her smile.
All hail to king Aegon Targaryen Second of His Name
King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men,
Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and
Protector of the Realm.
Morelike "someone call the doctor because Vicerys is still alive" 🤣
hahahahahahahaha
Poor Viserys he hung on as long as he could because he knew it would be chaos for his family and the realm when he died 😢
What a powerful and emotional episode!
Also, Daemon. Woah! 🤯
How much was due to him though?
To be honest, it would have been less chaotic if he died far sooner.
Paddy crushed it
Viserys really loved Aemma so much that even in front of death’s door, he still did his darnest to protect Rhaenyra and her children’s claims.
24:58 **A sweet and touching scene of an old man finally getting his wish, however so brief** "HE'S GOT A HOLE IN HIS FACE!!"
The king killed it this episode and daemon murdered it!
Literally
16:26 The Wielder of DARK SISTER, Rider of CARAXES, The Prince CONSORT of the heir Princess, Blood of the Dragon & The TRUE BROTHER of the KING, DAEMON TARGARYEN !! 🔥
That's what he really wanted, to be needed by his brother, to be his Hand to help & protect him & the house. It's a shame he only got to do it in the end.
When king Viserys striding toward the iron throne and that sound track...so epic..such powerful scene. Noticed the iron throne didn't cut him this time. Even though the king at his weakest physically he showed his true strength and presence there!
Good point!
I imagine the one time they showed him get cut was the only time
@@bryanxjames1215 It's said that he was cut many times. He has leprosy, which lets small cuts go unnoticed so that they infect and become worse. It's also said that the throne cuts kings who are deemed "unworthy".
I will miss Paddy. He did such a great job as Viserys.
@@rrebecaa Yes. He was totally talking to Aemma in that moment. His one true love...
alicent is really not the villain people think she is...she's been taking care of viserys for like 20+ years and is always the first to run to him and aid him when he's struggling. she cleans his wounds, brings him food and drinks, carries his body weight, smiles at him to comfort him, strokes him tenderly, gently wipes his face (mind you viserys' body is literally rotting at this point, many people would be genuinely disgusted). if she were anything like cersei, viserys AND everyone on rhaenyra's side would be long dead). tbh if alicent were a worse person she definitely would have speed run viserys' death after she became his child bride, having been maritally raped (see ep 4), and being forced to pump out 4 kids (1 isnt in the show yet idk why he wasnt mentioned) as a teenager (children he doesnt even care about). i'd be wayyy more mad than her. she's like that wife with a terminally ill husband who is never appreciated the way she should be (and is somehow resented too).
i think she really just wants to be validated and be given a morsel of respect for what her life has been. in the beginning of the series alicent's first line to viserys is "all i wanted was for someone to tell me they were sorry for what happened to me". rhaenyra's toast did just that, she said thank you to alicent and apologized to her as well. IMMEDIATELY after that alicent is softer again, kinder, and much like she was as a young girl
perfect explanation. 100/10
Daemon wasn’t stealing a dragon egg exactly. Syrax belongs to Rhaenyra and Targaryens have to get those eggs as soon as they can
I flippin balled my eyes out this past episode.
Aside from everything that was pointed out
Daemon: 10 YEARS YOU’VE SAT THE IRON THRONE AND YOU’VE NEVER ONCE ASKED ME TO BE YOUR HAND
Viserys: And why would I do that?
RIP King Viserys! Paddy Consadine need's all the Emmy's for his performance, and the rest of the crew for transforming him.
This episode was a difficult watch for myself. I very recently lost my dad to an illness and the similarities here in this episode were heartbreaking for me. But I mean it really truly is a credit to the amazing acting and the effects team. Let’s just say his look this episode is extremely realistic.

Alicent and Rhaenyra just got warmed towards each other a bit and now because of this misunderstanding Alicent gonna think her son Aegon is the one Viserys talked about ..
Lol

Which is dumb as fuck since theres a SERVANT with her... obviously moon tea🙄
Wasn't sure what it was
I was 100% convinced it was poison from the start. BUT, the showrunners apparently have said otherwise and the chambermaid lives. I guess we'll see by the end of this season or for a twist in the next.
@@dubbleplusgood Where did they say that?
It's getting difficult keeping all these "aemon" names straight & now we have another Aegon (the younger) to confuse with Alicent's Aegon.
Daemon might be the GOAT GOT/HOD character.. already
It’s almost like this was absolutely a play for power and Viserys snuffed it out at the last second and nothing to do with blood

There’s a theory that the family was arguing the entire dinner but in Viserys’ last moments he just imagined everyone getting along in his delirium. That’s why everyone seamlessly start fighting as Viserys gets carried out
Interesting how the greens are sitting on the side of the table that the King’s face is completely rotten.
Give Paddy (Viserys) the Emmy now!
The last scene knife showed by viserys bed is the one Arya used to kill the night king in GOT.

One of the best episodes of the season so far, and this show is just amazing anyways. Great commentary guys!
Heleana is HotD's version of Luna Lovegood. I honestly think she took some inspiration from her character.
One of my favorite moments of symbolism is that at the dinner, Alicent, her kids, and her father were on the side of the King where his face was rotten and dying or dead, while Rhaenyra, Daemon, and their kids, were on the side where Viserys's face was fine and normal.
It was on his "blind" side, cos this side for him doesn't exist. Only his daughter matters to him. And on his daughter side he was missing an arm.
Valyrian Steel-"it will keel!"
I can tell you Corlys is not dead. He lives a long time in the books compared to others,
Let us find out from the show... this is called a spoiler...
I think when Helena said "beware the beast beneath the boards", she wS referring to the board on which the king was building the city prototype. As you may noticed there is always some sort of smoke coming out from it. It maybe that tbere is a dragon egg laying there on hot stones or coal.

Bit random but I thought I'd share with you guys that there is a House Appleton in Westeros (look on the wiki of ice and fire). We basically know nothing about it other than they're from the Reach and their sigil has two apple trees on yellow and two grey gatehouses on white.
“One eyes brat” naaah he is not. He is the daemon of their team.
Jace, Luc, Baela, and Rheanys like eachother.
You guys jump to conclusions really quick. Corlys isn’t dead he’s got a fever from an attack. The writing in this is amazing.

Hey guys you really have to do Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 remake)
Its basically Game of Thrones in space. Absolutely epic and amazing show.
*HEAVY* *BOOK* *SPOILERS*
When Daemon wrote Aemond a letter telling him to meet him in the Gods Eye, it took TWO WEEKS for Aemond to respond.
- The Moon of the Three Kings
- Battle of the Kingsroad
- Aegon II's Death
- The False Dawn
- Hour of the Wolf (this involves Cregan Stark)
- The Regency of Aegon III
That final season will be interesting.
Rhaenrya and Daemon Targaryen are the parents of -> *Viserys II* Targaryen, father of -> *Aegon* *IV* Targaryen, aka Aegon the Unworthy, father of -> *Daeron* *II* Targaryen, aka Daeron the Good, father of -> *Maekar* *I* Targaryen, father of -> *Aegon* *V* Targaryen, aka Aegon the Unlikely, father of -> *Jaehaerys* *II* Targaryen, father of -> *Aerys* *II* Targaryen, aka the Mad King, father of -> Daenerys Targaryen AND *Rhaegar* Targaryen, father of --> Jon Snow
The Prince That Was Promised did come from Rhaenyra's line.
🖤 *RODDY* *THE* *RUIN* 🖤
Watch out for him.
I can’t wait to see princess rhaenys fight with Aegon and Aemond. She’s goes out like a damn g!!! I think all her rage will come out in that fight.
it was my favorite episode from both show so far the acting in this episode was on another level

Alicent believes 'her son Aegon' will step up? She's delusional.
omg that was something else i didn't catch the first time around was the king thought he was talking to his daughter, i thought he was having a fever dream about the future (G.O.T.) at the end their
1st observation: Did you notice how much this episode's Prince Aemond, Ewen Mitchell, looks like Matt Smith. I would love to know if that resemblance was what got young Master Mitchell the role.
2nd observation: When Daemon sliced off the top of Ser Vaemond's head right above the tongue I shouted out "THAT'S VELARYON STEEL"
3rd observation: I was rooting for King Viserys to hold out until the final scene of the season finale.
Much love from Algeria 🇩🇿❤️ you guys are great ✨🙏🏻
Cheers from the states
This show is at its best when their are no good guys or bad guys just protagonist vying for power, dirtier the better. And man that poor king - reminded me of that old adage; 'its hard for a good man to be king'.
Game of Thrones also is a soap opera haha but that's why we love it so much actually xD
Wish Alicent had thrown Viserys on those swords tbh. She deserves a little treat for serving this man for 20 years and taking care of his decrepit nasty ass.
Exactly!
Paddy Considine, our King Viserys, has Asperger's.
@@janeathome6643 oh cool, I had no idea! Thanks for letting me know! :-)
I like that theory.
Rheayna is Visary's old child born from 2 targaryans so he might feel like that inside
I'm sure Viserys feels some resentment towards Alicent and his kids with her since learning that she and Otto manipulated him into a relationship with her. I would. His second marriage never should have happened. He was lied to in order to take his kingdom from his first born child.
New subscriber by the way 🥰
Queen Visenya’s sword, dark sister.
The dragon egg was from the most recent clutch laid by Daemon's own dragon, so I don't think she minded him taking it
The Master of Complaints got served!
The Sea Snake is not dead, he's got plenty of episodes to come.
Can we maybe not spoil though?? The show never said he died, but they clearly left it hanging for now whether he'd recover or not. Let it play out as the show-runners intended, they didn't ask for your help...
I'll do & say whatever I want. Don't like it, don't read the comments then.
@@TheGodsEye82 well that's an insanely entitled approach to life... Spoilers ruin shit for the reactors as well, but you're right, you're allowed to be a piece of 🐂💩 all you want, technically, I'm just not used to people being proud of that quality... 😬
@@angelalurtz3638 🤣🖕🤡
I think it was said that Corlys is badly wounded but still alive, I know answer to his state later on but I won't spoil anything
He said, the prince that was promised, that is you... I don't think he thought he was talking to Rhaneyra (sorry of I misspelled)... would he call her a prince????
At least Viserys didn't go out like King Maegor Targaryen that pycho got impaled on the Iron Throne.
You are. He's drunk rapist. He can die.
Yep. Pate the Lion Slayer, Creegan Stark, Black Aly…Team Black had most of the badasses.
Every episode gets better and better…Aemond and Daemon showdown is coming in season 2 or 3
Really interested in how much you guys took against Otto Hightower… the actor is actually someone you’ve seen in another role - as Luna Lovegood’s dad, Xenophilius, in Harry Potter.
you can just tell alicent and rhaenyra had something in the past. the way they still cling to each other after everything that happened… it’s so sad. these girls loved each other and the world tore them apart. also alicent is not a murderer. larys murdered his brother and father to have dirt to blackmail her with, she would never have murdered dyana, and she has been groomed to love viserys so she would never kill him.
If you love one child and don't even giva a shit about the others you are NOT a good man. He was s weak man, a bad kind, bad father and a bad husband.
