Your video proved to be integral in my process of IP seal R and R. Gave me the confidence to do it myself. No more leaks, and car runs fine. Thank you very much for spending the time to detail the procedure. For what it is worth, I used the standard Bosch green head seal and it worked just fine. Paid special attention to the underside of the pump head to ensure proper seating of the seal.

Thank you very much for this series. I made a tool for turning the cam sprocket. It's a straight bar of 3/4" x 3/8" aluminum. I put two 5/16" x1-1/2" bolts into it near one end. The bolts are 3-3/8" center to center in the bar. I put two nuts on each bolt, one nut on each side of the bar. The heads of the bolts pass through the sprocket & catch on the inside rims of the sprocket...works well. I can send a photo of the tool if anyone wants it.
you pumped fuel out before removing the output housing. Could you not pour fuel back into the pump before complete reassembly to save some pumping of the vacuum to prime?

Arme todo sin sacarlo de punto y no puedo hacerlo arrancar volvi a desarmar 4 veces y aun no logro hacerlo arrancar ya no se que revisar !. en el video marcas el reemplazo de un componente negro que esta en la plaqueta electronica y no se para que es ? se que el video es viejo pero tal vez aun te lleguen los comentarios , lastima que no entiendo el ingles cuando hablan rapido
Can you point in the direction to bleed / prime the pump? I get the column of fuel with my mityvac into the clear line just like you at 1:30 but cannot get a spray of fuel out the injector lines after they are cracked open individiually to bleed them. Is there a fuel relay or something I should be looking for? Car suddenly would crank but not start back one day at lunch and I assumed it was due a massive leak at the head seal before.

1997 jetta tdi - followed these steps but now the car won't start. Seems to be drawing fuel but is not spraying out injectors, can't figure out where it's going and what's wrong... anyone have any trouble shooting suggestions? April 5 2016.
