    Thank you for such a clear and generous demonstration. You give us all the advice and inspiration we so greatly need to practice making beautiful snow paintings. I love the fact that you are working from a photograph and yet make your painting so three dimentional.

    That painting was beautiful. Your instructions are great. There’s nothing that you leave out. You’re the best teacher I’ve seen on line. You’re so patient and bring life right before my eyes. It looks so real. When you were painting the snow and came over with the darker wash it looks so real. I could watch all day. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed this.

    Exceptional impressionistic portrayal of this snowy scene.The palette adds so much wintry atmosphere.These types of scenes depicting the the beauty of wooded places in any season are my favourites.The scene Is so visually interesting...a feast for the eyes.

    As always, this covered bridge painting is beautiful. I love that you paint this scene during the seasons. Again, I thank you for painting these older buildings and perserving the memories of "times gone by". I just love these old structures - still standing or even when they have seen better days.

    Rick, this turned out so great. One of the greatest challenges that I have when trying to work with watercolor, is knowing how to work from light to dark. Your detailed instructions give so much information. I know that those who have worked with watercolor work with these techniques all of the time, but for someone like me who is wanting to learn the process this information is so great. Thank you so much.

    I enjoyed your tutorial so very much! Your painting techniques and your intricate explanations were so helpful! You took the time to explain each and every step so calmly! By your doing this slowly, it gives us newbies, the time to listen, watch and absorb your explanations!😊💕😊 You are such a wonderful watercolorist and teacher. Not every watercolor artist can teach, but you can do both expertly! Thank you for the time you took with this beautiful winter landscape 😊
    What I would give to be just a little bit as well as you😊❤️ I have watched several of your tutorials and each one has such awesome details and appeal. Love all of them❤️ Please continue to make your tutorials. Thanks again☃️

    I really like this snow scene. The colours are natural looking and give such a sense of the chill of winter. I appreciate your in-depth explanations Rick. Not a word is wasted, we all need to have things emphasized in order to understand the many important factors in watercolour painting.
    I've noticed you use good reference photos, which have good composition with little to alter. Maybe I should be more careful when choosing my photos.

    Rick, I am so glad I found your channel. I am trying to get back into painting and very interested in watercolor. My attempts to use masking fluid did not work so well. It is great to see your complete process. Thank you so much for what you have done here. I will be viewing your additional videos. I did have a question because of problems that surfaced when I was working with the fluid. Have you found a problem with trying to paint into areas that were covered with the masking fluid? Did the paper accept the pigment as well as raw paper?

    • @RickSurowiczWatercolor
      @RickSurowiczWatercolor  6 років тому +1

      Hi Michael, I'm glad you found my channel. Thank you for your comments. I don't recall having any issues with my work surface after removing dried masking fluid. I have seen where some have had issues with tinted masking fluid actually tinting the paper. I haven't myself, most of what I use has no tint. I always make sure masking fluid is thoroughly "Air dried" before working with it.

      @RickSurowiczWatercolor  6 років тому

      It takes a bit of practice, but I don't have much of an issue with it. I've done full sheet paintings with intricate masking where I cover the entire sheet with tape. It's best to try on a scrap piece of paper with your tape to test it out.

      I put my videos out assuming people are going to give them a try. If it results in a painting they like and want to show or sell locally, I don't really have an issue with it. The paintings I do that aren't in my videos I hold a different view of.

    How do you remove the masking from the rubber cement square? I tried pulling off the black but it just doesn't really
    get clean. Lately, I have been cutting the edges to clean it. is there a better way? thanks

    • @RickSurowiczWatercolor
      @RickSurowiczWatercolor  6 років тому

      I just pull it off the best I can. It's hard to keep them from looking dirty. It doesn't really affect the performance. When mine gets too dirty, I get rid of it and use a new one, however, I use it for quite some time before I do that.
