Just a quick note on the visuals of this video. The game looks far better than this when you are actually in it. The problem here is that I have an AMD GPU, which has horrible encoding for live streaming (which is where this footage comes from) so the quality of the stream was less than what I was seeing or capturing through OBS. Then even further, I had to download the footage in order to edit it, which surely lost me some pixels. Then once this was all exported, it was compressed again by UA-cam on the upload. So basically, this video does the game a major disservice visually. I promise the game is not in 360p :)
It is best played with friends, but as long as you have at least 2 people, the AI is actually pretty good and just the 2 of you can have a blast for a few hours
YES sims where you dont need to walk around constantly are absolutely the best use case for VR because it solves the movement problem and ensures a specific, limited amount of tactile controls are needed while absolutely maximizing immersion. Also emphasises the human aspect of combat, i.e. you can play top trumps with tank stats all day long but its the best coordinated and trained crew that gets the first shot in and usually wins regardless of how their equipment stacks up.
I still haven’t found a game that grabs me like vtol… closing in in 300 hours in it, and my next closest game is walking dead saints and sinners at like 30 hours. 😂
@@Dog3201 simple planes VR is also really good for flying, you lose the more realistic aspect and definitely some graphics qualities, but get the ability to build your own planes and helicopters.
This is exactly the game I've been thinking about for years! I'm glad somebody is actually doing it. If it's only one or two people developing it it sounds like they are resource starved unfortunately. I think with a decent budget, hiring 10 or so more people to model more tanks, maps and improving the game it could turn out absolutely fantastic!
I have been wanting a game like this for a while now and this is almost it. I just really wish they had a loader as a playable crew member. VR is really the only way to make playing a loader an acutal fun option.
My god man…. Could you imagine being an infantry, seeing a couple of tanks roll up, and calling for air support and then laser designating the targets for the lgb delivered by an “f-45a”!!!! Seriously think about that…. It would be absolutely freaking amazing. And imagine not having to laze your own targets if your the one in the air! That would give so many different options for approach and air speed.

Something that delivers a very similar experience to this (albiet not in VR) is an obscure sub-community of Space Engineers. They design, build and battle fully crewed tanks every couple weeks. Same kind of vibe as this, and far more diversity in terms of tanks and weapons.
I really wish that there was a game with a 4 or 5 man crew including loader and radio operator on a big team battle scale. Those positions in tanks are overlooked in games so often because they aren’t really all that interesting but I think it would be a neat concept to see a fully fleshed out tank crew. Comms between tanks would be restricted to radio operators with strategic planning being of upmost importance with a sort of battle type similar to hell let loose. I know that it’s a tall order with vr technology where it is but in the future I think it’s in the realm of possibility
