THANK YOU. 2005 Mazda Tribute (Ford Escape), Air was not coming out of the vents but blower motor was clearly running. Watched your video, looked under the hood and a vacuum line was broken. I held the pieces together, the air switched from defrost to vent. You just saved me a lot of money, all I have to do is replace some rubber lines
Just fixed my girlfriend's 2002 Mazda Tribute thanks to this video. The air conditioning had defaulted to defrost only and the check engine light had been throwing the code P0401 for the egr valve. I had replaced the DPFE sensor and tried to get the nut off the egr valve with a propane torch, thinking that was the problem. It wasn't until she complained about no a/c that I found this video and realized all of the vac lines had deteriorated. I bought a yard of fuel line from O'reillys and cut it to size, and reused the old connectors and nipples (hint, if you cant pull out the nipple, cut the hose off to save it without damaging the nipple). The whole project cost $8 and about 15 minutes. Firestone quoted me $200 to do this, so thanks for the big savings!
Freaking life saver man did a engine Mount last night and didn’t realize I pulled a line loose luckily I didn’t break it but while looking for damaged hoses I saw it and my ac came right back on much love brother 😎😎
Thank you very much for this. I'm thinking this will probably fix my 2 years of shit idling in my 2001 model, which has recently progressed to shit while driving also. Now I'm a danger because twice now the car has stopped accelerating completely for few seconds, luckily not while I've been crossing traffic. The code indicates EGR sensor and I've ordered one of those and a smoke machine to test the hoses and systems, but now I know for sure my hoses are crap because they are much worse than the car you showed! Actually, 2 of rubbers that change size like an adapter have snapped in half and I jammed them back together and hose-clamped them seemingly tight enough! The one at the front that you showed where the long plastic line turns to rubber hose and then adapts onto the front top of the engine is one where I jammed the broken halves back together. The one at the back of the engine I 3D printed the adaptor after designing it, so yes, it is plastic, but doesn't seem to be vaporising or melting. Obviously I couldn't find any rubber adaptors but I should replace the straight sections and smoke test it all. Everything has hoseclamps on it and seems good. I also learned from you the reason why my aircon only blows out the demister so that seems like it will a free fix. My problem might have started after I removed the manifold to change the rear spark plugs. I wonder if I broke a gasket or something. I might wait until smoke testing it before potentially taking the manifold off again. Smoke testing apparently goes right through everywhere and even the fuel tank and exhaust when smoke testing the vacuum lines or anywhere such as the air intake. I'm learning bits and pieces.

There’s generally only one line that goes from the engine compartment into the cabin area it’s mostly located on the passenger side near the firewall. That’s the most common line to come disconnected and cause a vacuum related issue there are vacuum lines on the inside of the vehicle in the heater box but they’re not often a problem because they don’t have any ways of getting disturbed People will do tuneups and stuff and Accidentally knock off the vacuum line to a cooling system which won’t allow the doors to function properly but this all depends on what year and what vehicle you have
For those that are serious about finding a vacuum leak. It can be the controller.. The one you turn to floor, defrost or cabin air.. It's a vacuum switch.. Or trace the line from the vacuum actuator under the dash, looking for broken lines, and where it goes into the engine compartment .. In the engine compartment look for where it comes out of the firewall,.. OR take the vehicle to the shop like Future Ford of Sacramento and let them charge up to $1800 making all sorts of excuses on what you need fixed while they have the dash torn apart.. Like the light bulbs for the instrument cluster.. OR Rear end lube, when you get the bill..
Hello had my 2002 ford Taurus checked out was not getting any air flow from the front vents they told me that it was a Vacum line and it was under the dash and the dash would have to be removed they said it was one from the firewall and it would require dash removal and would be costly and extensive labor does this sound about right thank you
Hi ...great video ..im having trouble figuring out heat issue ..over the summer ac blower motor would just shut off and later eventually work again now that winter is here same problem has occurred but now i need heat ....blower motor is not coming on and heat is trickling out but not blowing ...i checked the fuse under the hood and that is good … changed the the blower resistor and still nothing i got a new blower motor and before replacing it i just plugged it in and still nothing ...now I'm thinking bad switch or relay … done some researching and seems the relay is under the dash which is a pain to reach ... If you have any any suggestions i would greatly appreciate them ...
The reason the EGR Hose is so messed up, is because a lot of carbon builds up around that area. It controls the flow of exhausted gases, hence why there is so much carbon build-up, and also why those rubber vacuum hoses go bad.
Please help I have a 2013 Ford Escape and my engine sounds like it’s running fine but sometimes it won’t blow any air out of the vents. Hot or cold. It sounds like it is blowing air but there is none coming out of any vents. What do I do?!
I have a question I have a 2011 Ford Escape I bought used and when it gets really hot out it starts off with cold air but then it stops and it stops and basically when it gets over 94ﾟ I just get warm air but when it's cooler I get cold there which actually cold cold is cold cold and I have to actually turn it off. I was wondering if he would know why that happens I've been looking for a video on that but I'm not able to be successful in finding one thank you
Thanks for the video. I have a problem I find to be unusual. I will replace the vac lines even though it seems to run fine with the exception of when it's ice cold outside.. Problem is, I get no air flow, I hear the blower running but very little comes out defrost AC vents or floor heat. I can see the actuators for the doors working. Any suggestions? Thanks man!

Well it definitely has to be able to take air in from the outside but it does not have a cabin air filter however underneath the Cowell I believe” (that’s an old vehicle I’m not certain) where are the wipers go is the air and take yeah I have to remove the plastic and take all the debris out You may be also able to remove the blower motor which I’m certain you will have to remove anyways because stuff will fall down inside the barrel of the fan and you should be able to free it up it could also be that your blend air door is not moving properly either it’s possible you have a vacuum leak because that is vacuum operated it sounds complicated but it’s actually a pretty simple system raise the hood and there’s a white sticker that will show how the vacuum lines run On the engine make sure you trace them down and make sure they are all hooked up the engine will only create vacuum when it’s running just in case you don’t know

Hey so when you say weird idle would you say maybe it's like a shiver when idling. I replaced my engine and ever since it shivers usually only when it's idling sometimes when I'm driving in the lower RPM's I think. Well more than likely it is because you have a vacuum leak or something connected in properly or backwards I would see where that could be a great possibility so I would definitely check them things first.

Found out it’s a plastic piece
Might check the cabin air filter if dirty air wont flow properly
