I have an 03 escape xlt that just started idling rough mid trip today. I don’t have any lights illuminating/flashing & my blower motor is pushing air out of the dash vents. Any suggestions?

This is just what my truck sounds like on first start up at idle. Thought it was o2 sensor being bad since I went like 5 months ignoring it. I replaced it like 2 weeks ago and it's still doing this I'll have to check this out nice vid man
Heater Hose (thicker) with same inside Diameter works for that cluster of hoses, just utilize the same plastic T couplers and END connectors -like AT the EGR valve, etc
I had a vacuum leak on my 2005 Escape xls 2.3 200k miles..before I found out it was the vacuum leak I had replaced EVERYTHING related from fuel filter to plugs to even 2 $$ coils! Then I sprayed some carb cleaner on each vacuum line and found the right leaking one problem solved! Now, all this time later, my MAP sensor is going bad..hard to reach too..well on the 2.3 anyway...the 3.0 it's on the firewall but the 2.3, in between the fan and intake! ugh! Very few videos on this too!

2009 Escape. 236k miles. Spit and sputtered for a couple yrs and 4 trips to the mechanics with no help. Check engine light was on. Evap code as i recall. Changed the purge valve and voila... Fixed it. I'm not very mechanical but it wss honestly about as difficult as changing a lightbulb.
I figured it's worth try and ask, 94 Ford escape 4 cyl. P1633, keep alive memory circuit low voltage, it's the only DTC, the vehicle is idling very high, don't know if that's a symptom of the code, but that's what we're trying to fix. It's a manual transmission.
I’ve got a 2010 Tribute Turns on great. Goes up to 65 mph and runs amazing till about 5 miles down the road it goes into limp mode then after few more miles it wakes up and runs down the highway just fine. Codes P0171 bank 1. And something with voltage on ABS Once in awhile I get a wrench that flashes on dash. 200k miles on vehicle
I love our winters for snowmobiling. Though this winter has been garbage for that! But we're also thinking about moving out of the mitten for the same reason. My wife hates these Michigan winters.

Hi my 2003 Ford escape shakes on stop's and it kinda pulls a little like if it wants to die (turn off):I know I need to change the spark plugs (already bought them):also it sounds like air is escaping from somewhere, could it be a vacuum hose? I'm taking it on Monday to change the oil and the filter. It has a good engine just little problems here and there. I took it to AutoZone and they told me that I needed a neutral sensor switch because I can only turn it on in neutral but they told me that the shaking is probably caused because of it needing a tube up... If I was to guess it’s an actuator that has a stripped gear on the inside of it that’s the clicking noise you’re hearing or it could be possible that the door is not moving correctly on the inside of the airbox sorry I haven’t had a ton of experience with this but that certainly sounds like what the problem is
Mine has a rough idle up and down in rpm until you drive then it’s fine. Mine is the Mazda Tribute 2004. Those vacuum hoses have nothing to do with the air coming out of the vents.

Craig is completely wrong. I had the ac stop blowing from the front vents sometimes under acceleration, replaced the AC resistor and still had the same problem. found a broken small vacuum line and the others looked a bit rough, so changed them all, and now the ac is working correctly again. AND my long term fuel trims aren't adding 12%+ anymore, back to near 0, actually -1.3%

Gonna check my vacuum lines this weekend, just out of curiosity. My 2005 Escape 3.0 V6, driven by wife, has been acting funny. At cruising speeds, 70 kmph or 56mph, it has a miss or hesitation. If you hit the gas hard or let of completely it goes away. It's just at a certain rpm or load I guess... Any ideas? Was thinking EGR, but that checked out ok. It did originally throw a Lean code, so I cleaned the MAF sensor and cleared code. No more check engine light, but still that weird hesitation. Thanks

Detroit born and raised!!! Question, I have the same year and engine. Idle is terrible when the engine has been running for a while. Not overheated, just normal hot. It sputters when I accelerate from start until I get up to about 20mph then full power again until I come to a stop again. Runs perfectly when cold/first start driving for about 30 minutes. Overdrive solenoid is not working correctly. Sometimes it’s just a switch.. I’m not the worlds most knowledgeable as far as transmissions go, but that could be a simple fix. It could also be that your shifting cable is stretched.
Generally that’s the EGR valve often I don’t see these messages because UA-cam doesn’t show them all to me so that’s why I didn’t answer hers it could also be the catalytic converter or the IAC
@@sharpcarco hey men, my escape 2005 is acting like my front axle was sliding and my engine is shaking during going up hill,stop acting up if I accelerated to like 60mph . You think thats the transmission sensor,throttle body or do you think is the axle?,is not leaking and transmission shift just fine!
Well what was the problem before you put the ECM in there? Normally you can’t just switch Ecm‘s like that they usually have to be programmed and I’m fairly certain from 2001 the Ford escapes had all be programmed because the keys are chipped. But I could be mistaken
I have a 2005 Ford Escape 3.0L V6 and an having some issues too. I just watched a video on this. You can reset your pcm by taking off your positive cable and putting a wire with rubber in the middle so you don't get shocked and put one end on positive and one on the negative for 5 minutes and it will reset it. Ol Scotty Kilmer has a video on this check it out because there is a little more to it than just this. I hope this helps. My problem is that when I accelerate I lose all dash lights signals don't work. Windows don't work also causing it to over charge my battery. I am pretty sure I have a short somewhere. I have not watched a video yet on motor mounts which from these comments could be possible any ideas any help I will be grateful. In the mean time I'll be watching more videos to try and get it figured out. Oh why I said motor mounts is because this is a northern vehicle (alot of rust) and I have noticed I don't know what to call it but a shift tilt when I start the engine. When I accelerate I lose power and when I brake they come back on. As it seems while writing this I may have answered my own question. Motor mount. Have an 05 escape same motor , having a weird idle problem when I’m sitting at a light or stuck in traffic too long , my rpms will drop from 8 to about 4 then shoot right back to 8 like nothing ever happened, done a smoke test and nothing seems to be leaking from the air system , changed spark plugs, coils and boots , checked the idle air control valve and it looked pretty good , but I still cleaned it , this idle problem only seems to do this when the car is in drive otherwise it’s fine , looking for any suggestions
@@amberjones770 I ended up changing my upper motor mount and it smoothed everything out, it turns out the mount was so bad that when the cooling fan would turn on sitting in traffic too long it would cause that hard rpm drop , now it still does it but it’s much smoother and doesn’t feel like the cars about to stall out , so I’d suggest checking your motor mounts or possibly you’re cooling fan , hope this helps
@@MrMashme how many miles is on yours? I had the same problem with my 2003 Ford Escape and what I did is I waited till the gas light was on because I suspected there was water in the system. Afterwards I put half premium then half regular and it worked a little better after it. I only have 65k on mine so it’s strange to see a lot of ford escapes with the same issue 🤔
@@hellixity I thought that same thing so I cycled a few rounds of stp water remover in it , and it did seem to smooth out a bit better but it would still do it. I took a good look at it and determined the upper mount was bad and swapped it out , I went from it doing the idle drop everyday to maybe once every two weeks or so, and very lightly when it does , but it seems to coincide with the cooling fan turning on , but it’s much better , might still change the mount that’s right under the fan still , but I’m not as worried about it now.

Did it ever break down on you at a red light during those 2 years?

Might also add the problem gets worse sporadically when switching to reverse or drive
