Pulse Rifles just got a 12.5% damage buff with the release of Season 23. There is also an Overload Pulse Rifle mod in the Seasonal Artifact, so Pulse Rifles are a fine option for endgame content like Grandmaster Nightfalls, but the question is: What is the best exotic pulse rifle in Destiny 2? Well let's find out! Today, 6 Pulse Rifles are going head to head in a series of tests. These include the Graviton Lance, No Time To Explain, Revision Zero, Bad Juju, Outbreak Perfected, and the Collected Obligation.

Collective obligation on Briarbinds Warlock is crazy strong. You can cover everything with weaken and suppression which is incredible in hard content.
Child suppresses in PvE? I didn't know that. That's cool.
@@MavenPhoenix I have a build using this with Secant Filaments. I wouldn't use this build for solo content, but as part of a team, you suppress everything whilst your team mates clear everything up. It makes it easy for champion targets due to the suppression, keeping everyone safer.
Even with gyrfalcons, use suppressor grenades and fragment for grenades to weaken with collective obligation. It will melt

Graviton Lance paired with Mantle of battle harmony is one of my go to void builds. Pair that with volatile rounds weaken grenades and the damage output gets even higher. Awesome video! I really love the way you layout the facts and just explain what works.

Collective Obligation should have weaken factored into those numbers, because you're always running it with Echo of Undermining. On Master/GM content, you can stun a champ and weaken it, kill the champ, and still have the buff active for the rest of the adds. (On low-level content, it's completely excessive and just run Graviton instead.)
That's a good point. I should have done that.
I used Graviton with Sanguine in a healing rift and just have it forever. It was pretty dope.

While I own all of the pulses mentioned here, I really only use the Outbreak Perf consistently just because it feels so good (especially in pvp). I've been loving Graviton with Gyrfalcon's on Hunter, then Bungie went and buffed Graviton! LOL
In areas where there are tons of low level ads in confined spaces, I've seen Graviton not only kill all the ads present, but even continue killing new ads when they spawn in, with the Cosmology Void orbs, then more, over and over till no more ads spawn in. It's a lot of fun watching the Graviton creating these death feedback loops.
190k on graviton lance, been using it since season 4 in before all the buffs and I’m loving the current shape it’s in and it’s beyond viable in GMs and vorpal helps it being viable vs champions

i love Graviton lance. despite being considered a new light (ive been around since season of the deep), i love this exotic, defiantly one of my favorites due to the explosions it causes on a kill

First off, thanks for the data and investing the time to put good content out.
I play with pulse rifles all the time and have to say, what weapons you use is up to your individual play style. Saying pulse rifles are the worst because you don't like them, doesn't mean that it's the same experience for everyone.
I play with a shaped BXR and it's heavy on ad clearing and NOT an exotic. My main was the outbreak but now I run mainly with the Revision Zero and and BXR with Apex Predator.
I would like to see Maven comparing archetypes of weapons. Every Guardian has a right to form an opinion and express on UA-cam or any other platform.
The issue could be, that a new player after listening to Maven, starts avoiding, using or even testing a whole archetype of weapons. I agree with both the notions
@@farhanmaqbool9286 Yep, that is my concern also with youtube "influencers". These start biases and end in two things....
1. Players start getting frustrated over playing styles that youtubers say are THE ONLY way to play.
2. Players missing out on making the game their own because youtubers say THIS IS THE WAY TO PLAY.
Bad Juju was always my favorite going back to D1 with my obsidian mind juju build but it really hasnt changed at all over the years and has just been left behind by so many better options. It needs a rework.
Great video! Just a suggestion during your Carl test w/Bad Juju you should've had String of Curses proc'd. It SHREDS at 5 stacks.
The Carl test is to simulate a longer single target DPS phase, so that wouldn't exactly be a realistic test for that purpose.

Graviton is my favourite exotic, I've just got outbreak perfected so going to get the catalyst done for that. I just think Graviton hits so hard even without surges on.
plus it has great ad clear and you get vorpal+ turnabout which i don't think was mentioned which is great in harder content.
I know its not really related to this video at all but I just NEED a youtuber to know about this build combo! Please please please try tommy's matchbook and actium war rig on Solar titan! You can get radiant + resto so you dont have to really deal with the damage from tommy's and then it gets doubled from being ramped and then you can add surges! Its so killer, absolutely smacks everything. Please try it!

Outbreak + Strand (warlock) with Mindspun Invocation aspect (any exotic is fine, though Necrotic Grips/Sanguine Alch goes pretty hard with it)
Bad Juju + any Super-based exotic (strongest pairing w/ Celestial, currently)
No Time + warlock with any Arc Soul build for double turrets/Stasis with Osmiomancy Gloves (hitting slowed/frozen targets count towards the time turret)
You should do more of these, theyre really gud
With collective obligation, all you need is Void Titan and a suppressor grenade. A couple of fragments and you get all 3 debuffs like nothing. Over and over, pair it with HOIL.
Outbreak perfected.. extended mag, rewind rounds, starting next week!!
Sunshot is stupid right now.. but i hope this makes outbreak stand out alot more and become a top option

It’s not exotic and it’s nowhere near these weapons.
If you were going to give that advantage Collective Obligation, you should've used Renewal Grasps with No Time to Explain: shooting a frozen target returns ammo like fourth times the charm (they don't need to be crits either). Specially against Carl, It should hold up there with the big two. Because I've used on Master lost sector and you can primary an Overload this season with No Time to Explain, of course in GM's I would have to crutch something else but that's the nature of GM's.
Bad Juju's string of curses perk is better than what you initially stated, actually! 52% is the pvp buff- for pve it ramps to +100%
voidlock, sin, grav lance is INSANE combo
As a Hunter main, started using Gyrfalcon/Graviton this season for endgame content because even with the massive artifact buffs Solar lacks survivability. And I think it's one of the better endgame builds there is.
It would be nice to have time stamps.
To me Grav or Collective need to build into. Outbreak works solo or with a group and does great against champs for similar reasons as Le Monarque absolutely viable in GM's.
graviton and outbreak still are super op, outbreak is one of the best exotics ever made and the mission was unbelievably fun with trevor in the encounter

Graviton used to hit softer then a Wet Noodle.. They actually majorly buffed it... And my one problem with Outbreak....... My Friends would always refuse to use it.. So I could never benefit from the insane damage boost.

I love pulse rifles. If you have distance you can take advantage of the space and just toss out elemental dmg perks explosions all day. Theyre easy to be accurate with and can be shot from a safe space.
Does Bad Juju still have that “hidden explosion” perk/bug?

Each stack of string of curses is actually 20% damage, adding up to double damage at 5 stacks!
No time to explain must have gotten stealth-buffed. The portal bullets do fractionally more damage than they used to, which means they likely got a PvE damage bump. I'm not sure.

I’d agree with you on the pulse rifles being pretty bad in pve, if it weren’t for the BXR-55 Battler. My BXR puts in work lol, mainly due to ignitions. Enhanced demolition with incandescent, crazy ignitions and back to back grenades. It’s also really good firing from the hip and for a pulse rifle has a decent fire rate. It zooms in like a sniper to pick off enemy snipers also making it pretty versatile in my opinion. Other than the BXR I haven’t come across any other pulse that’s even semi decent in pve so for all else I’d have to agree. Great video, great breakdown. Thanks for sharing.
Very good video. But I think starting dps with 2 sniper bullets on revision zero might have been more realistic. Almost all encounters in destiny have trash mobs coming out before bosses and mini bosses. So in almost all content you're gonna have a couple of sniper bullets charged if not all 4 by the time you get to a boss.
Can we get an outbreak prime build with the catalyst
Every buff to primary weapons just makes me question why they went so hard on nerfing precision damage. It just feels like they are slowing going back to it, when it would just be easier to balance that.
Revision zero buff is very huge against champion with the two burst mode you can deal 11k damage per headshot, you can destroy champion
Outbreak perfected and Graviton has some of the best sounds in this game - someone at Bungie loves EDM / dubstep 😂
My pick is graviton lance, it’s my baby, especially with the catalyst.

Outbreak Perfected needs Outlaw replaced with Rapid Hit. Would help with DPS on beefier targets. Also give it Target Lock lol.
It already kinda does have target lock, the damage ramps up. It’s good just the way it is.

20k on graviton. Those are rookie numbers. Mine has 156k. But to be fair, I use mine all the time. Oh and there was a change to the catalyst a few seasons ago giving it vorpal and I think that's why it hits so hard against bosses

I generally agree with the scores. Gravaton lance gets vorpal in its catalyst which helps but I didn't hear you mention. It's a little sad bungie nerfed gravaton by taking away the +20 to aim assist in the catalyst. It was so good and now it's pretty good ya know.

Bungie has to make exotics worth taking up the exotic slot, otherwise legendaries would dominate because they get perk options. I could definitely see them nerfing it down to 30% though, but no less.
