- I fix my banshee swapped grom after blowing up my transmission. I try a top speed run and attempt some wheelies. Will it reach 100mph?

Banshee grom on the 1/8 dragstrip: ua-cam.com/video/tC9Phct8oKY/v-deo.htmlsi=Fk4xZK_MgPouJmDy
Your forks are twisted.
Be careful bud love the videos and want to keep seeing them
Get another grom and make it fast
Keep the engine... it’s good as a street bike. If it were a race motor, it would ruin the fun...
Love it man! Pretty much the ultimate daily driver. Theres something about a 2 stroke being street legal that a modern sport bike can't compete with. Plus is a banshee engine!!!!
As a banshee owner... Change nothing...except a steering dampener,what a little rocket 🚀
I agree.. It's just right how it is.
I agree, change nothing, add a dampener, finalize the build cosmetically.
Or change the crank for a bigger stroke and have some insane power. I love banshees. Hell 2 in 1 carb made a big difference.
@@TiKi-zc8hrall good until u said 2 in one carb👎🏼
That rz engine was made for the streets.
You officially went 70mph faster on a Grom than I ever would.
😂😂
lol FR
Them things can go 70 stock
I do over 70 on mine and all i have is a cam intake exhaust and tune
@@markguerin701 cluster is never true
100 mph on a small wheel, short wheelbase bike...‼👍👍 Keep the Banshee engine, stabilize the bars, torque every nut and bolt, and hold on! Keep doing what you do!
😎👍
Lock tite for the win
Or man up and get a real motorcycle, kid
Ya at least until the po po see this
get bolts with nylon lockers! game changer!!!
You’re one of the few UA-camrs I’m proud to see you’ve got ads. You work so hard and deliver such good content
Thank you! Since it's the end of the year all these companies are trying to spend the last of their budget allocations
sound legendary
fr
Seriously
I know you said you can rebuild these motors pretty easily but I’m still so very impressed with your ease of building. Keep the engine you have in it, it’s insane! And yeah steering dampener for sure. So cool!👏
Coolest grom ever. Maybe smaller gears so you can hit 6th and have more acceleration? Badass bike man! Keep building
Thanks 🙏🏼
That thing is a ripper! BTW I think it would be cool if you could find a radiator that fits inside the headlamp cowling.
Definately leave it streetable! It looks like a blast to ride and it goes plenty fast the way you have built it. Great work and keep the content coming!
The banshee is my favorite quad of all time. The fact that you put that engine into a little grom is just INSANE. Insta sub from me. Keep up God's work!
I'm speechless right now because your doing what I think of and can't possibly done all this by myself. I love the idea of 2 stroke engines in a grom. Most badass grom I have ever seen. That is a trophy to keep and love. You have no idea how much I want that grom. If you ever have to many projects and want to sell it. Please let me get first dibs. Incredible super awesome job. I've been riding for awhile and would love to have a street legal 2 stroke.
looks like a blast to ride. I would go up a few (maybe 3) teeth on the rear sprocket to wake it up a little under the power band and get some use out of 6th gear. As you said a steering stabilizer is a must.
I cracked up seeing the radiator mounted on the front like that, what a BEAST! build's come along so well, inspiring stuff
As an original 1977 Yamaha RD -400 2 stroke Twin owner myself ( I bought it new off Don Vesco Yamaha’s Showroom floor Here in my hometown of El Cajon Ca. In 1978 , my Graduation present to myself) and having now owned it for almost 45 years I can attest to the adrenaline rush every time it “ Comes on the pipe “ and tries to wheelie out from under you. Your little beast is probably around 50 pounds or more lighter than my old air cooled bike ( I believe mine weighs in around 340 lbs or so ) and looks to be easily able to top out around 115-120 mph or so like mine does once topped out in 6th gear. Wheeeeeee!!! You are a Madman like me & at my age now (62-1/2😉) I’ve got no reason to slow down now . Enjoyed watching this build and glad you got it all repaired and back together again . Keep it “ Rubber side down “ . One more thing; “ Mexico “ sure looks a lot greener than I remember.😏😆👍😎. C-ya man . Stay cool now , ya hear ?? 👌
Haha thanks
Man this takes me back, 90s Simpson bandit paddock jacket, no plates, on the tank
Had 250, 350 and ypvs
In a grom...love it man
One of your best builds Vasily! I want one really bad now damn it! This is exactly the kind of sleeper thing I love. Oh it's just a Grom then it rips past like your standing still.
Sounds great! I don't think you'll have enough HP to pull 6th. It's not quite fully revving out 5th all the way. Sounds great though.
6th gear is for cruising to conserve fuel.
Agreed, no doubt it would of been ok if he kept the primary and clutch gear ratios as standard. But then it would be more aggressive in the lower gears.
I suppose it’s pretty easy to drop a tooth on the front sprocket if he decides to go for top speed.
That bike should be able to rev all the way through every gear. It needs tuning.
It will still do it with enough road.. Like on an Interstate highway. But I agree, he has it geared up quite a bit, which is good, because it would be popping wheelies much worse with stock gearing.
@@mozer30 Raise a tooth on the counter shaft for more top end. Or decrease the rear sprocket.
What a perfect swap, the power to weight on that grom is insane. I love your channel and all your builds my man, keep it up!!!!
Dude, congrats! Yeah I would do that stabilizer and that's it. That bike is already faster than it should be. Looks like an incredible thing you've built. Definitely my favorite build of yours. Please be careful, no repeat crashes like a few years ago!
I'm so pleased for you dude. That thing is a little gem. Yes it needs a few kinks ironed but look how far its come in such a short time. Brilliant bike.
If that radiator is still working it means you can also go a lot smaller so you might be able to get one to fit inbetween two strip lights - like the 2019 grom lights but spaced apart with the rad inbetween them.
Stingers like an RGV250 and its going to look the nuts.
I wouldn't go mad on tuning. Its fast already and ask any 2T owner - reliability is already borderline on a stock motor.
What a ripper bro!! I miss hearing my old banshee scream thanks for a awesome video keep them coming
A steering dampener is a must lol, but I would be worried about the tires if they are stock. I can't imagine they are good at those speeds. Great build and can't wait to see more of it!
When you get something that’s not meant to go fast to go fast, it’s so satisfying and kinda funny
Absolutely wonderful build Vasily and the pipes will look great with a couple nice stingers! Glad to see her in her glory!
Usually the beveled gears transfer power better because more then one tooth is in contact at a time, but the trade off is it will increase loading in the axial direction and need a thrust bearing
They're quieter but the teeth aren't as strong.
@@str8huckin876 Strength of teeth is a factor of the design and properly set backlash. Usually guys dont set the backlash right and then get the experience of a weaker gear design. The reality is it is much stronger than straight cut gears and also more expensive
Wobbles no different than my 83 rz350 that is highly modified and that sound of a twin yammy is just like music. Well done :)
One of my first street bikes back in the day was an RZ350 Kenny Roberts. Same motor banshee twin cylinder liquid cooled 2stroke only difference is it had oil injection. What a fun bike that was as a 17 year old !
I like that sounds great, it has the fun factor in bundles, great job.
This is currently the wildest build I've seen this year. I would love to ride something like this, I cannot imagine what a banshee motor must feel like on a grom frame 😅
I've had a honda monkey with a 190cc engine and ~20hp. That was fast and funny to drive. But this thing has double displacement AND is a 2 cylinder 2 stroke. I cannot imagine how crazy it is to drive. Good job
Great little rocketship ride. Keep up the hardwork youngman. Your builds are very interesting and your skill level really shines through in your work.
I'm usually one who doesn't like different manufacturers engines inside other manufacturers vehicles.....but when it's a Banshee's 350 twin 2-stroke in a Grom.... I absolutely approve 🤣👌
Edit: steering stabilizer and start it and allow it to come up to a respectable temperature first instead of worrying about trying to get it up to temp while moving, it'll definitely help.... might also look into a smaller radiator as well as a different oil viscosity.
You may want to chop the frame behind the head tube and add more rake to the front end to get it more stable at speed. Maybe just a degree or two. Should make it much less twitchy. Don't want to go too much or you'd lose some cornerability.
Holy crap is that thing quick.
Please be careful as we don’t need you getting any other injuries 🙏🏻
The bearing will not be capable of those speeds. Front and rear wheel bearings. Please check often. This thing, while beautiful, is basically a hand built bike. All things dealing with power and speed need updating, like an chev truck people put 400hp through, new Trans, new rear end, etc.
thats one insane build. stay safe dude.
Never been much of a grom/z125 fan but this is the equivilant of stuffing an ls into a miata. It just makes you smile knowing its way too powerful lol sweet bike
It's the coolest grom iv ever seen. Awesome 👍😎
Such a sick build. Stay safe out there!
Holy crap YES. One of the best engine / bikes combinations i've seen, I love overkill stuff. My absolute favorite is still a 150cc Honda Motocompo though, there's a video of the owner mobbing on it on the highway on UA-cam!
Sick bad ass always love tour builds man
The carbs don't sound tuned well in the low and mid range but i could be wrong...kickass job on the build!
its because of its lack of silencers, its changed its tune on the carbs :/
Vas your killing it, keep up the xlnt content.
What a beautiful part of Mexico. Nice build sir. My neighbor is a Banshee nut. He's got two awesome Banshees. I'll make sure he sees this.
My banahee was clocked @ 115 mph with 2 passengers (235 ish lbs). We were 18 & 14 years old. Later, it got a 420 stroker kit and wasn't a desert trail bike anymore.
I'm an older writer I love everything you do I always watch it just kills me when I see somebody engine braking like backing off the throttle without pulling in the clutch and letting it wind down as a mechanic it's not really healthy for a two-stroke I mean if you're racing you do what you got to do because engine breaking can be important but it hurts the machine anyway just thought I'd say that I'm not being a dumb dumb if you know what I mean but love your videos absolutely
That is sick. I would love to have a grom like that
That thing sounds soooo good, I don't usually like the sound of two strokes but that's awesome.
Gotta love the Banchee! Steering dampening is an absolute must! Awesome!
This by far is the coolist thing you built to date
One of my favorite builds, double thumbs up
That motor is running really really good!
This bike looks fantastic! The only thing I would change is I would add a couple silencers to quiet it down a bit.
Not just that they crate back pressure which can massively effect it's tune and would help it warm up too
bro your inspiring me to engine swap 250 2 stroke engine into a KX 65-100 frame
This thing is Rowdy! Sickest grom I've seen, great build
Awesome work of art that bike is fast Vasily does it again.
Are your tires rated for those speeds? Make sure you get really good tirs if you have not already
The tires are P-rated for 93mph
Pretty nuts how fast that thing is. Be safe and have fun!
This is officially the coolest grom on the planet! Might be time to invest in tire and brake upgrades 😂😂😂
Crazy build lil bruh, keep doing your thing
I've never heard of a Grom doing a 100 miles an hour That is absolutely insane I would never go that fast on that you've got some big ole jewels
Watched you a lot when you and hour channel were much younger. Although you are still young! So young with limitless potential ahead in your life. The sky is your limit Vasily. Keep it up and i promise you will make waves in this industry.
awesome! great to see it come together. i have a stack of yamaha 2strokes.. and a 2 stroke swapped grom as well (250 singe). I heard about the banshee swap (yours) and have to say, thats awesome! well done indeed, came out way better than i would have thought with that twin in there. bravo!!
Change the rake In head sock by a few degrees will lessen the wobble a bit . You know when you got the pipes right as the front wheel won’t stay on the ground . Pee around with the pipes and when you got it right it’ll be a whole new monster . Read up on tuning from Stan stevens ,one of the worlds best tuners of them motors . He builds 130bhp 525cc engines from a banshee motor . Just don’t fit that motor or you’ll need wheelie bars at 130mph
I felt your adrenaline rush when you hit 99 and bars started getting shaky a steering stabilizer and gusseting or reinforcement would help fight against speed wobbles a steering stabilizer #1 would improve everything. Gusseting/reinforcement will help keep frame flex to a minimum which is what causes speed wobbles I can't see the added weight hurting much either would probably plant the bike better also. She's nasty man great job and the pipes seem to still have a pretty mean powerband routed and fitted clean too I understand how hard it is to fit them where you're comfortable without changing the characteristics and dimensions of the pipes 2 stroke motorized bicycles have the same challenges in that aspect alot of respect for your work brother you're killing it
INSANE, That thing is an absolute beast. Very, very cool. Talk about a conversation starter. Take that to any bike nite and it will be the bike that draws the crowd. Just one thing, 100 plus on those very small (diameter) wheels and a fairly short wheel base. Please be careful. One little twitch at those speeds on those wheels and catastrophe. You have a huge future in front of you. Great stuff...🤓
That's a clean swap. I love it. It's fast as hell and sounds badass
Keep it like that it sounds great and if you just tidied the front end up a little then that's a nice bike
This is definitely one of your bed or builds. That thing is insane. Sounds and looks great. Keep up the great work buddy.👍🏼🤩💪🏼
Dude this thing is soooo sick 😂😂😂😂 if it ain’t sketchy I don’t like it so this is perfect 😂😂😂😂
according to my knowledge, taller ratio on the clutch gear would actually not decrease stress on crank, but increase it as it converts more torque
Dude i hardly comment on videos but this my man is a beast!!! A 2 stroke grom is a fantasy of mines to have, keep up the good work and stay safe!!
Excellent build. Sounds amazing.
This just popped up on recommendation and I've got to say the ideas you've given me in one video...thank you! Also Subscribed cant wait to see what else you bring to life.
Love the MIXGAS tag! Awesome build!
Love The Sound of Your Bike.Hope You Have Got Chilled Out Neighbours!!
This thing sounds insane beautiful work bro
Great build! Fast ass little bike!
Sick Grom. You are both skilled and very brave.
Boutta be the worlds fastest grom with 100hp.
The only thing you do by changing the dimensions of the exhaust is change where the powerband kicks in. Because the big belly on the exhaust is the resonance chamber. It uses the back pressure of the exhaust to scavenge out the burnt air fuel mixture. And it does it in pulses based on whether the valve is open or not. The powerband on a 2-stroke engine is the point where the exhaust flow has reached an optimal flow for revving faster. If you didn't know it already, it's worth a watch on how a 2-stroke engine functions to understand how changing the exhaust changes performance
10/10 I'd leave that thing as is. Just get a damper on it and polish up all the loose ends.
Would love to see it make some passes down the track!
Killer job as usual man.
That thing is an absolute monster man, great work.
Try tapered roller bearings in the steering stem instead of damper. Also, use a plate of glass to get fork tubes in same plane, and make sure they're parallel, too. Funky suspension geometry can support weird oscillations that turn into tank slappers.
Nice work , that thing is rad and RIPS!!
One of the best engine rebuilds on UA-cam
WOW! Unbelievable that thing, respect! That motor in a Supermotoframe would be hella sick!
I require a bike like this. Omfg. I ride a crappy bandit 650 that needs a dyno run and I bet the powerband and torque would be insane and it looks really fun! This would be perfect for short travel, intense country roads.... Lots of twisties in Ireland lol, it'd be a great craic. I can't imagine the feeling this would bring
I had a RZ350 motor built out the wazoo(racing pipes that dropped stupid weight and up'ed HP and torque) and tuned in a 92 TZ250 rolling chassis in total race trim. I use to run it on the street in my area when I was not at the track and would go troll CBR900RR's with it all day. Almost half the weight and pushing around 80hp. From a standing take off once I hit about 5k RPM's going through the revs the front end would come up and I would walk away from the CBR's on the back wheel.
Now the TZ motors in the later bikes were even stronger than the 350 in which I heard some pushing CBR numbers around 120hp
What an absolute Mad lad !!! Nice build. I would be wearing more safety gear and really worried about something going wrong at 90+ MPH...crazy
NICE TO SEE THE FUTURE OF THIS BIKE . KEEP IT UP👍👍👍
Bad ass build! Thing is a ripper! Throw a draggy on it get some 1/8 mile times & really make all the big drag race grom guys big mad!!!!
Bad ass!!!! That unit is straight beast mode. Thanks for sharing.
Fastsily builds another monster! Well Done Young Man , your skills far outweigh your age , Impressive
Awesome build. That things sick!
That thing is quick! I don't think it needs more power unless you plan on taking it to the track...
Speed wobbles/tank slappers at speed like that are a suspension/geometry issue. It's likely the spring rate or rebound setting of the front forks (It doesn't look like the frame has excessive flex). Put some zip ties on the forks to see what your travel looks like (are you bottoming out?) and set suspension sag to something reasonable. If it's far off get new springs/fork internals so you can adjust things. It looks like those front forks are already near the end of their travel.
She looks way more comfortable and better with the pro taper bars and The headers turned out dope!! I think it would look sick with some braided/colored radiator hoses and you should most definitely keep the banshee motor!! Add a stabilizer and figure out a way to make A one piece silencer using a set oh shorty's, even if it's only two avoid friction from the police!! All in all she turned out sick and has plenty potential as far as power, control/ St ability and aesthetics goes! That's the sickest grom I've seen, keep up the good work kid and keep bringing us gnarly content. SN: a smaller radiator would help with getting it up to temperature. I know that all sounds good but in all actuality expenses are a factor lol comes with the territory.. All that being said, execute that check list with some original ideas of your own and you'll be dominating the grom scene in every aspect of the game.
Super scary but I really like it I'm glad you changed a bunch of stuff from the original build
That temperature control cardboard setup is awesome haha
Nice job not only sounds good looks good too and at that speed you built it right work the issues out and keep it streetable you'll ride it more
