Parts arrived today! Greased the 4 shocks before putting red bushing in drum ,hardest part was getting drum back down with new bushing, in all about 1.5 hrs it was back together and doing 1st load not even a wobble on spin Fantastic ! Since it was walking across floor prior. Thanks for everything Ben
All the initial research I did said to replace the suspension rods which I did but did not solve the shaking problem. I stumbled upon this video when doing some more research and I am so glad I did. This is the only video I found that mentioned replacing the bushing and once I did, the washer stays in one place now when spinning. The 15/16 deep socket worked like a charm with getting the old bushing out. I also replaced the plastic hub with the metal hub since it seemed like I was replacing that at least twice a year.
Went ahead and bought some new suspension rods directly from Whirlpool. Fixed my problem immediately! Also bought some bounce-b-gone just in case another problem arises. Thanks Ben! You saved me a bundle in exchange for about 45 minutes of work!
Awesome helpful video! I re-calibrated my washer, then replaced the spring rods in about 1/2 the time that it took me last time I did this repair. Thanks to two comments you made in your video! - Regarding removal and replacement of rods without having to pull rod out from the bottom of the machine and then again - how to use the hook on the end of an old rod to pull the new rod up and into place! We bought a brand new Maytag thinking we were purchasing a good brand. A year ago, the hub bearing went out and paid a technician to replace. About 6 months later, it started doing the same thing but this time thank goodness we found this channel. I’ve already ordered the hub and are about to order the bearings shims to perform that part of the fix. Hopefully this will fix this issue once and for all🤞🏼 Certainly cheaper than buying another $600 piece of junk!!!!

Watching this, I'm reminded of my parents' old washing machine back in the 90s. Turning the knob to the cycle you wanted sounded like gears grinding. And you had to pull the knob to start the machine.

You do the same thing my dad did with his small engine shop. He would tell the customer how to do more basic repairs and sell them the parts to do so. Many times they would, due to his instructions, fix their own problem. Sometimes they would end up bringing it to him to fix. Either way, he developed some very loyal customers who came to him for parts years after he was forced by health reasons to stop repairs. They called or came on up to and even after his receipt passing.

Washing maching was shaking violently during spin cycle. Googled it and your vid came up (I've also been a subscriber for awhile to your channel). Bought some grease, and followed your vid. Took me and my spouse about 2.5 hours to remove, grease, and re-seat the four suspension rods, but we did it!! The front left was the most difficult on ours (same machine as in the vid, but maybe a slightly older model or one with less features) as this corner had the least amount of room for me to stick my hand inside with a small pair of vise grips. My partner held the tub to the opposite corner and I used a bracket with holes to lift up the suspension rod in order to seat it back in its place. The spin cycle is normal now. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm guessing this is a job that should be done once a year? Will be easier next time since we know what we're doing now.
thank you very much for making this video. My issue was that the main basket had a wobble and anytime it would spin it shook violently . I was able to repair my Maytag washer by replacing the Hub. I purchased it from you along with the special wrench and blue thread locker. washer is running smoother than it has for a number of years. THANK YOU Ben!
Thank you so much. Last year I saw a washing machine, the exact, same style, that was shaking violently and spin. I believed that changing the suspension rods with solve the problem, but it did not. Honestly, considering the amount of work and effort involved and getting to the spin bearing. Most customers will probably opt to just replace the darn machine.
19:15 Timestamp...To remove the tub sleeve, a 15/16 inch deep well socket is needed. Ben mistakenly said a 5/16 inch socket. I purchased the plastic replacement bearing and it worked perfectly.

Thank you for this training video ! I had purchased your Samsung DC97-16350U suspension rod replacement and tried with Super Lube grease. Then after watching your video, I regreased my suspension rods using Bounce-B-Gone Washing Machine Suspension Grease. I found washer bin to be a lot more stable when pushing down to pushing to the side when comparing lubing with Super Lube. I wished I had purchased Bounce-B-Gone Washing Machine Suspension Grease the first time I replaced my suspension rod. Bounce-B-Gone grease is very thick and very sticky and it significantly slows down the movement of suspension bead during movement.

I used to do driveway flips on W/D repairs in the early 80's .Just my wife & I have used 5yr old whirlpool set .the washer started walking so thanks to your video the tub is out sitting on floor ,it was quite stubborn broke wash plate had to use gear separator to remove gear off spline and tub was a hum dinger purple power, vinegar, PB Blaster hammer 24" wood stick I pulled up on tub while wife drove down on wash plate tub threaded down into shaft . Shoe wee I think we made a great WWF tag team to get it apart tub bushing was a breeze 4 light smacks.were on break until our order from you comes in. Thanks a Million Ben jeff & charlsey
Note on the agitator plate that was super helpful from a different video: use something thin to slide under the diameter and pry it up evenly (like a shoelace). Two of them in a cross pattern tied together can really help with leverage and reducing hand injury.
I used Allen wrenches, slid the "hook" side in the holes opposite each other and rocked it. Worked great! I did spray in the screw hole with WD40 first.
"Prevent injury"... lol unless you are like me and do this two shoelace technique. I edge my.elbows on top of the washer then used it as a pivot point to lift the wash plate straight up. Being a strong brute force kind of guy I pulled very hard and it finally popped out and I ended up double uppercutting myself right in the bottom lip and nearly punched my bottom teeth through my.lip. the worst part of it all my son was right next to me watching me the entire time. Swollen lip and bruised ego but at least the freaking wash played finally came off.. 😂
I have the exact Whirlpool machine that is ill. First we had the unbalanced loads and it resulted in a machine making a hole in the drywall of the laundry room. Then it decided to not go into different wash modes, or spin etc. I started to investigate the possible causes and I decided to just move the machine to the garage and do a repair in the future. Every video has taught me something unique about these machines. The greatest revelation has been the use of dampening grease....something I never heard about. Now a new Samsung machine is doing the washing jobs. I was wondering if you can buy replacement rod holder caps as one of the violent shaking episodes cracked the top plastic holder.

That'd be nice, but these companies want to make MORE money by selling cheap crap that needs frequent maintenance or replacement. The cheaper, flimsier parts are readily available and did I mention they are cheap? Majority of consumers will choose cheap over quality.
@bensappliancesandjunk thanks so much for this video. I am currently working through all these steps on my whirlpool to see if it helps its performance. Question: During the removal of the wash-plate my pliers punctured a couple holes in the wash-plate. Is that something you would recommend replacing, or do you think it will work fine?
At 13:25, I think that my Whirlpool agitator wash plate was as hard or harder to remove than Ben's example. Here is the first process I used: Remove the bolt and pull on the plate with vise-grips and a hook in the holes; didn't work. Pull on the plate while tapping the bolt with a hammer and socket; didn't work. This was the chemicals and process I used in this order to remove the wash plate: 1. Add 2 cups ZEP citrus cleaner, run washer on hot water and normal cycle. Repeat this 3 times. 2. Spray PB Blaster in bolt hole and fill to top of the wash plate. Allow to soak 1 hour. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash. 3. Spray Iron Out rust remover over plate bolt hole and allow to fill to top of wash plate and soak 1 hour. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash. 4. Spray Loctite Freeze Spray in the bolt hole and allow to penetrate 2 hours. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash. 5. Spray PB Blaster in bolt hole and fill to top of wash plate. Allow to soak overnight for at least 12 hours. Perform Zep/hot water/normal wash 2 times. During wash number 2, I could hear the wash plate click a little. After the cycle completed, I literally lifted the wash plate off of the splined shaft. After seeing the rust corrosion on the wash plate splined hub, it was no wonder that I could not get it off. I think the secret is to break the rust bond between the shaft splines and the wash plate splines.
Our new (Maytag) Whirlpool washer delivered in November 24 did this from the beginning. A technician is supposed to come next week. If they tell me it’s something major I’m going to contact Costco and see if they will refund what I paid for it, if they will I’m going to buy a Speed Queen. The Maytag repairman use to be “The loneliest guy in town”. Not anymore.

@@RossReedstrom we just got factory samples 2 weeks ago and distributed them to 2 dozen technicians to try. So far, the results are phenomenal, but we are awaiting a few other people before we order a major factory run of them. Should have them sellable by end of year.

Think I'll leave the vinegar over night, if that doesn't work, get some CLR. Last resort is unbolt the drive and bang on it. Can't wait on a shipment of the Washer Bomb, I'll run out of underwear!
This one has been like that for awhile now. If you can decipher it, its super powerful. We just use that code to run key components for failure instead of trying to run a loaf and guess what the issue is
New to this discussion, but hoping to solve the issue with my whirlpool washer thats been working great for over 10 years. Right away I ran into the suspension grease solution, and wonder if good old thick automotive axle bearing grease would work?
Used bounce -b -gone grease and also used zip ties to tighten bushings. washing machine is used daily in veterinarian clinic. did repair several weeks ago and no problems yet
Your videos are so informative, I've really learned a lot from them. Thank you for not keeping all this info secret, like the industry wants. As appliances have become more and more expensive, and don't last as long they used to, we as consumers should be able to repair as much as we can to keep our costs down and you have allowed us to do that. But I will say the washer you used for this video was probably too rusted to bother spending the time and money fixing. I assume you used it just for demonstration purposes. It does appear Whirlpool used that cheap bearing purposely, so the machines wouldn't last long, because a better part wouldn't have cost them that much. I really dislike how companies don't make products that last a long time anymore.
Use big washers on each corner between the body and the white cone cap part that seats into the hole the hook goes so you are pulling the tub down tighter. Seems to work.
thanks for sharing your knowledge on this comprehensive fix. it was probably not possible, but would have helped to show where those screws holding the gear case are located. I anticipate the worst case scenario, so when it arrives, I'm not disappointed. honestly I'm getting too old for crap like this. Replaced a top end set with this set so if something did go wrong, it's easier to just buy another set. The landfills filled with these things are not the fault of the consumer, rather, the manufacturer. Can I fix mine with your help? Absolutely. Short of running a diagnostics check, I just dont feel it's worth the effort. Whirlpool and Maytag destroy their name brand chintzing out drive trains with this cheap plastic crap. Shame on them.
Question?...replaced hub and rods but now machine isn't rinsing cloths out totally which it was before, and cycle seems shorter, any suggestions why? Also I purchased a basket bushing from you too, gon' install that as a last effort...and yes I recalibrated it properly..

I bought new suspension rods, put the friction grease on them, then bought the metal splined center piece with turning tool and installed. Leveled and did the re-set. Then washed a light load of clothes, did fine. Next tried a load with 3 "throws". The machine washed ok, then going into drain and spin cycle, jumped up in the air, did a 180 and landed back down. Been washing clothes for over 60 years, never had the trouble we have had with this poorly designed whirlpool. Giving this machine away and bought a speed queen. No issues now.
Brass may wear the shaft in a way where it could ruin the shaft. Replacing a 29.99 bushing every 10 years would be better than replacing the gearcase after 5 or 7
Got question on a Roper dryer knob rotate but when it get to the cool down cycle it stop rotating causing the dryer to keep running without turning off
If I put the replacement sleeve in and it didn’t go completely flush. I’m talking less then an eight of an inch. Like pick my finger nail on one side. Could that still throw off the balance? I changed the sleeve the baring plate the springs and when it rinse spins the machine still shakes like crazy on the rinse part. Help?

Odd - those things almost always solve it. Where were the rods purchased / are they OEM? I would start from the start and check to see what may be causing it to bounce... Does the inner tub wobble? When you press down on the basket does it snap back up and not move, or does it wobble around? Is it leveled?

My suspension rods appear to be just fine, and my wash plate came off easy. Then my top hub with its retain pin came out somewhat easy. I was now trying to get the washer tub out so I could inspect that splined portion piece that is pressed into the bottom of that tub. It is being a real SOB,...why, isn't it just a spline fit over that central shaft sticking up?? If I can get it off, isn't the next step to replace it with that 'red plastic item' you developed??...or does the metal kit have this item that gets pressed into the bottom of the washer tub??

Something I do not understand about those new pieces and the talk of shims. That red bushing you are putting in the washer tub to replace the original white one, is significantly shorter in height, and you are pressing it into the top of the washer tub, rather than the bottom?? Isn't that going to create some need for additional shims??
I am also confused by your reference to these 'white or red' pieces as 'bearings' or 'bushings',......which is it?? I would call it a bushing, since it is NOT acting a a bearing?

I am having a VERY DIFFICULT time gettingmy inner tub off to inspect any splines, etc that might be allowing that inner tub to scrape against its outer tub when in the spin cycle. Isn't it just a spline fit that should allow the inner tub to be lifted off?? I have subsequently tried to using an auto screw jack between the shaft and a piece of 2x2,...broke the board. I've not made a much stronger cross brace out of metal bar, ...and still have not got that inner tube loose?? As I asked above, this should be just a tight fit onto the shafts spline?? How could it be that tough? And my machine was basically pretty clean inside, with everything else coming off easily??
It definitely shouldn't be that tough. Maybe let it run in manual agitation without the wash plate & using CLR or another media to clean between the tub and shaft?
They are good but have had a big flaw in the tub for years. Whirlpool addressed it recently but there's millions of machines that are gonna break due to the cheapness of the tub bearing
In my honest opinion - NO, although it is very affordable. I assist people at THE HOME DEPOT in Southlake, Texas, and personally have a Maytag, which is the same basic machine! It can be difficult to assist people when most newer washers are not made to last! It is easy to help people make a decision when using Ben's videos with a customer!
I replaced my hub bearing with a metal one. However, my tub still have play. Everything is tight. I can rock the tub back and forth and the hub moves underneath the screams. Can you point me in the right direction?
I have this exact wash machine. It's pretty old now and has been working great! It JUST started making a strange sound, kind of low. 2 fays later I run another load and the sound is 100% louder and sounds like a "REEEEER! REEEER! REEER!" sound. It actually scared me when I turned it on and started walking away bc it was so loud... it does not sound good lol. Anyone have any clue what it may possibly be? Based off this video... maybe the agitator? or the belt but I haven't come across any videos replacing the belt for this particular model.

Installed the plastic shim in a customer 's washer today and saved it from replacement. This made the tub new again. Thanks Ben

We are working to get foam to replace the inside of the rods and once we have that, should allow it to run for 3 to 4 years without issues

I had purchased your Samsung DC97-16350U suspension rod replacement and tried with Super Lube grease. Then after watching your video, I regreased my suspension rods using Bounce-B-Gone Washing Machine Suspension Grease. I found washer bin to be a lot more stable when pushing down to pushing to the side when comparing lubing with Super Lube.
I wished I had purchased Bounce-B-Gone Washing Machine Suspension Grease the first time I replaced my suspension rod. Bounce-B-Gone grease is very thick and very sticky and it significantly slows down the movement of suspension bead during movement.
The Super Lube may have aided movement.

W/D repairs in the early 80's .Just my wife & I have used 5yr old whirlpool set .the washer started walking so thanks to your video the tub is out sitting on floor ,it was quite stubborn broke wash
plate had to use gear separator to remove gear off spline and tub was a hum dinger purple power, vinegar, PB Blaster hammer 24" wood stick I pulled up on tub while wife drove down on wash plate tub threaded down into shaft . Shoe wee I think we made a great WWF tag team to get it apart tub bushing was a breeze 4 light smacks.were on break until our order from you comes in. Thanks a Million Ben

Note on the agitator plate that was super helpful from a different video: use something thin to slide under the diameter and pry it up evenly (like a shoelace). Two of them in a cross pattern tied together can really help with leverage and reducing hand injury.
I used Allen wrenches, slid the "hook" side in the holes opposite each other and rocked it. Worked great! I did spray in the screw hole with WD40 first.

"Prevent injury"... lol unless you are like me and do this two shoelace technique. I edge my.elbows on top of the washer then used it as a pivot point to lift the wash plate straight up. Being a strong brute force kind of guy I pulled very hard and it finally popped out and I ended up double uppercutting myself right in the bottom lip and nearly punched my bottom teeth through my.lip. the worst part of it all my son was right next to me watching me the entire time. Swollen lip and bruised ego but at least the freaking wash played finally came off.. 😂
I have the exact Whirlpool machine that is ill. First we had the unbalanced loads and it resulted in a machine making a hole in the drywall of the laundry room. Then it decided to not go into different wash modes, or spin etc. I started to investigate the possible causes and I decided to just move the machine to the garage and do a repair in the future. Every video has taught me something unique about these machines. The greatest revelation has been the use of dampening grease....something I never heard about. Now a new Samsung machine is doing the washing jobs. I was wondering if you can buy replacement rod holder caps as one of the violent shaking episodes cracked the top plastic holder.

That'd be nice, but these companies want to make MORE money by selling cheap crap that needs frequent maintenance or replacement. The cheaper, flimsier parts are readily available and did I mention they are cheap? Majority of consumers will choose cheap over quality.

Question: During the removal of the wash-plate my pliers punctured a couple holes in the wash-plate. Is that something you would recommend replacing, or do you think it will work fine?

At 13:25, I think that my Whirlpool agitator wash plate was as hard or harder to remove than Ben's example. Here is the first process I used:
Remove the bolt and pull on the plate with vise-grips and a hook in the holes; didn't work.
Pull on the plate while tapping the bolt with a hammer and socket; didn't work.
This was the chemicals and process I used in this order to remove the wash plate:
1. Add 2 cups ZEP citrus cleaner, run washer on hot water and normal cycle. Repeat this 3 times.
2. Spray PB Blaster in bolt hole and fill to top of the wash plate. Allow to soak 1 hour. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash.
3. Spray Iron Out rust remover over plate bolt hole and allow to fill to top of wash plate and soak 1 hour. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash.
4. Spray Loctite Freeze Spray in the bolt hole and allow to penetrate 2 hours. Perform ZEP/hot water/normal wash.
5. Spray PB Blaster in bolt hole and fill to top of wash plate. Allow to soak overnight for at least 12 hours. Perform Zep/hot water/normal wash 2 times. During wash number 2, I could hear the wash plate click a little. After the cycle completed, I literally lifted the wash plate off of the splined shaft.
After seeing the rust corrosion on the wash plate splined hub, it was no wonder that I could not get it off. I think the secret is to break the rust bond between the shaft splines and the wash plate splines.
Our new (Maytag) Whirlpool washer delivered in November 24 did this from the beginning. A technician is supposed to come next week. If they tell me it’s something major I’m going to contact Costco and see if they will refund what I paid for it, if they will I’m going to buy a Speed Queen. The Maytag repairman use to be “The loneliest guy in town”. Not anymore.

I bought Nyogel 767A damping grease on Amazon $25. Lasted about 8 months, now needs another go.
Our version is $10 and should last a little longer. If combined with new rod foam, should last 3 to 5 years easy

@@RossReedstrom we just got factory samples 2 weeks ago and distributed them to 2 dozen technicians to try. So far, the results are phenomenal, but we are awaiting a few other people before we order a major factory run of them. Should have them sellable by end of year.

Think I'll leave the vinegar over night, if that doesn't work, get some CLR. Last resort is unbolt the drive and bang on it. Can't wait on a shipment of the Washer Bomb, I'll run out of underwear!

New to this discussion, but hoping to solve the issue with my whirlpool washer thats been working great for over 10 years. Right away I ran into the suspension grease solution, and wonder if good old thick automotive axle bearing grease would work?

Used bounce -b -gone grease and also used zip ties to tighten bushings. washing machine is used daily in veterinarian clinic. did repair several weeks ago and no problems yet

Your videos are so informative, I've really learned a lot from them. Thank you for not keeping all this info secret, like the industry wants. As appliances have become more and more expensive, and don't last as long they used to, we as consumers should be able to repair as much as we can to keep our costs down and you have allowed us to do that. But I will say the washer you used for this video was probably too rusted to bother spending the time and money fixing. I assume you used it just for demonstration purposes. It does appear Whirlpool used that cheap bearing purposely, so the machines wouldn't last long, because a better part wouldn't have cost them that much. I really dislike how companies don't make products that last a long time anymore.

Use big washers on each corner between the body and the white cone cap part that seats into the hole the hook goes so you are pulling the tub down tighter. Seems to work.
thanks for sharing your knowledge on this comprehensive fix. it was probably not possible, but would have helped to show where those screws holding the gear case are located. I anticipate the worst case scenario, so when it arrives, I'm not disappointed. honestly I'm getting too old for crap like this. Replaced a top end set with this set so if something did go wrong, it's easier to just buy another set. The landfills filled with these things are not the fault of the consumer, rather, the manufacturer. Can I fix mine with your help? Absolutely. Short of running a diagnostics check, I just dont feel it's worth the effort. Whirlpool and Maytag destroy their name brand chintzing out drive trains with this cheap plastic crap. Shame on them.
Question?...replaced hub and rods but now machine isn't rinsing cloths out totally which it was before, and cycle seems shorter, any suggestions why? Also I purchased a basket bushing from you too, gon' install that as a last effort...and yes I recalibrated it properly..

My washer has been bouncing around for the last couple of months I feel that it would be difficult to fix the washer that you using on the video is the same washer that I have
I bought new suspension rods, put the friction grease on them, then bought the metal splined center piece with turning tool and installed. Leveled and did the re-set. Then washed a light load of clothes, did fine. Next tried a load with 3 "throws". The machine washed ok, then going into drain and spin cycle, jumped up in the air, did a 180 and landed back down. Been washing clothes for over 60 years, never had the trouble we have had with this poorly designed whirlpool. Giving this machine away and bought a speed queen. No issues now.

Whats the model# of your Kenmore? Thats very very interesting. The shims should definitely work - theyre a near-universal replacement.

Brass may wear the shaft in a way where it could ruin the shaft. Replacing a 29.99 bushing every 10 years would be better than replacing the gearcase after 5 or 7

If your having trouble removing the wash plate like I did. Buy 3 air wedge bags. inflate near the 3 ribbed parts of the plate. Should pop off.
Can you use the grease on a front loader suspension dampener?
If I put the replacement sleeve in and it didn’t go completely flush. I’m talking less then an eight of an inch. Like pick my finger nail on one side. Could that still throw off the balance? I changed the sleeve the baring plate the springs and when it rinse spins the machine still shakes like crazy on the rinse part. Help?

Speed Queen is great. Simple. Get the one with knobs, commercial grade one, I think it’s TR5003WN. I am satisfied.

Everything was properly installed do you have any suggestions on what it could be? Also I recalibrated it when I was done
Odd - those things almost always solve it. Where were the rods purchased / are they OEM? I would start from the start and check to see what may be causing it to bounce... Does the inner tub wobble? When you press down on the basket does it snap back up and not move, or does it wobble around? Is it leveled?

My suspension rods appear to be just fine, and my wash plate came off easy. Then my top hub with its retain pin came out somewhat easy.
I was now trying to get the washer tub out so I could inspect that splined portion piece that is pressed into the bottom of that tub. It is being a real SOB,...why, isn't it just a spline fit over that central shaft sticking up??
If I can get it off, isn't the next step to replace it with that 'red plastic item' you developed??...or does the metal kit have this item that gets pressed into the bottom of the washer tub??

Something I do not understand about those new pieces and the talk of shims. That red bushing you are putting in the washer tub to replace the original white one, is significantly shorter in height, and you are pressing it into the top of the washer tub, rather than the bottom?? Isn't that going to create some need for additional shims??
I am also confused by your reference to these 'white or red' pieces as 'bearings' or 'bushings',......which is it?? I would call it a bushing, since it is NOT acting a a bearing?

I am having a VERY DIFFICULT time gettingmy inner tub off to inspect any splines, etc that might be allowing that inner tub to scrape against its outer tub when in the spin cycle. Isn't it just a spline fit that should allow the inner tub to be lifted off??
I have subsequently tried to using an auto screw jack between the shaft and a piece of 2x2,...broke the board.
I've not made a much stronger cross brace out of metal bar, ...and still have not got that inner tube loose?? As I asked above, this should be just a tight fit onto the shafts spline?? How could it be that tough? And my machine was basically pretty clean inside, with everything else coming off easily??
It definitely shouldn't be that tough. Maybe let it run in manual agitation without the wash plate & using CLR or another media to clean between the tub and shaft?
Just installed your red bushing. Washer still shakes violently. Also installed new stabilizing arms. Same results. Any suggestions?
Did you recalibrate? Usually that fixes it but I'd look at pressing the tub down and side to see like the video and see how it moves and re centers

They are good but have had a big flaw in the tub for years. Whirlpool addressed it recently but there's millions of machines that are gonna break due to the cheapness of the tub bearing
In my honest opinion - NO, although it is very affordable.
I assist people at THE HOME DEPOT in Southlake, Texas, and personally have a Maytag, which is the same basic machine!
It can be difficult to assist people when most newer washers are not made to last! It is easy to help people make a decision when using Ben's videos with a customer!
There's no time to do this in the field. In the shop for refurbishing it's a great idea. Keep in mind that dust or dirt can adhere to the grease.

I replaced my hub bearing with a metal one. However, my tub still have play. Everything is tight. I can rock the tub back and forth and the hub moves underneath the screams. Can you point me in the right direction?

I have this exact wash machine. It's pretty old now and has been working great! It JUST started making a strange sound, kind of low. 2 fays later I run another load and the sound is 100% louder and sounds like a "REEEEER! REEEER! REEER!" sound. It actually scared me when I turned it on and started walking away bc it was so loud... it does not sound good lol. Anyone have any clue what it may possibly be? Based off this video... maybe the agitator? or the belt but I haven't come across any videos replacing the belt for this particular model.
