I'm definitely sold with you guys. I used to have a 20' Yamaha MT-10 that had your ECU flash, and it was night and day better. That bike is gone now, but I have a 24' Tracer 9 GT Plus. Look forward to doing this one soon.

For the MT07 did you just get the ECU flash or did you update the airbox and/or have an exhaust?
@@modehfy1352 I had a different exhaust but left the stock airbox. That changed the a/f ratio enough to justify getting it flashed.

2WDW flashed my 2022 Tracer 9 GT when I added an Akropovich exhaust system. Very easy to deal with, quick turnaround and responsive to email communications. The bike was good to start with but had a second gear "bog" that started me down the rabbit hole of ECU tuning. The 2WDW's tune completely eliminated the 2nd gear bog and the bike feels more responsive and torquey everywhere. A drastic improvement in riding enjoyment. Probably an overall gain in HP but I have not tried the Racebox data logger to objectively compare 1/4 mile ET's, etc, to pre-ECU tune/Exhaust......Yet.... The only trait that I would have preferred to not have in the ECU tune is a "soft" recovery when hitting the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear. It kind of feels like a 2 stroke hanging on the pipe if you hit the rev limiter and quickly close the throttle in 1st and 2nd. A minor complaint but it may be worth discussing with 2WDW if you are having a tune done. Good job, 2WDW.

the new yamaha mt 09 has two lambda sensors. Do you remove them with tuning? will all the exhausts from the old generation fit then?

You said that you didn't touch the fuel mappings as the bike still has its stock exhaust. Does that mean that it's not useful to do so? I'm planning to keep the stock exhaust as I can't stand loud bikes but I'm still interested in tuning.
Are you going to do the racefit full system?
He says the prior bikes exausts are gonna fit but the 2024 has 2 sensors so they might fit but will they work properly?

I just wanna ask. What is wrong with stock ignition map. How does the bike behaves and how it should behave with right ignition map?
I emailed you guys a few weeks ago about flashing my new MT-09. I ordered an M4 exhaust, can't wait till it gets here. I'm excited to hear you're working on it now! I can't wait to have that flat second gear get improved. That's really my only big gripe about the bike so far, second gear just feels so weak compared to everything else. Are we able to flash it back to stock if there's the unlikely event of a warranty issue?

Are your tunes for mail in mapping locked? I have woolichs and like to play around with the mapping , but AFR is difficult.
Yes they lock the ecu so you cant see or alter their work.
Would you be able to get a pop and bang tune on this with an aftermarket exhaust?

Wow it's a shame that guy went and wrote the woolich log file decoder. Any "competitor" could get you to do a flash for them and then just read the TPS to ETV maps back out as well as the ignition settings which all show up in the log files. Fuel is irrelevant because anyone with a wideband o2 sensor can do that themselves.

You guys do not lock the ECU do you? I’m not trying to be a douche asking that question but I’ve heard it mentioned that some tuners do that.
What oil is used for bike break in period?
I'd guess Yamaha's Yamalube 10W40 motorcycle oil. The oil I drained from the engine smelled pretty much like the Yamalube oil I put back in it for my first service.
@KjKase I heard that for break in it's good to use mineral oil.

What stops your competition from buying your ecu flash and reading what you have done? Then just copy and paste?
Not nearly that simple.
Why not? If they have the software. I have seen tuners in the internet pull up all the ecu info before they flash.
Thankfully, almost all modern flashing softwares allow tuners to lock most ECUs from being read on most models. Anyone can write over it, so it isn't "locked" in that sense. They just can't see what we have done until they write over all of it with a stock image and their own license.

Yep theres a horrible flat spot in second gear. So bad it almost ruins the experience.
yeah second is terrible. I'd actually be pretty disappointed and pissed off if it weren't able to be remedied with an ECU flash or fixed in any way.
Good job Yamaha, you've managed to produce a 900cc engine that makes as much power as one from 1993. WTF?
Yes but take into account the emission compliants
It's a 3 cyl. lower RPM engine, not a high revving 4 cyl. , it makes more torque and power where you need it for street riding. It's not always about peak hp, this makes.more usable power much sooner without the need to rev the crap out of it.
hp mentioned is on the wheel, numbers given from yamaha are from the crank.

Great engine, absolutely horrible design every since the 2nd generation. Everything is budget on this bike, except the engine.
maybe in 5 years its safe to buy this bike, when yamah gets it right
