that world space option had driven me crazy before i found out
thanks much!!!
Haha, tell me about it! It drove me to the edge too. I'm glad I could help! :D
Great Video, definitely helped with a project.
Amazing, good luck with your project!
Cinemachine is such a great tool. Very customizable
I think it is a great tool! I've not used it until very recently! :)
Super helpful video, thank you!!
You're very welcome :) What are you creating?
that sphere game looks better than most of the PS5 games I own so far
Thank You so much.
You're most welcome
Thankfully this video saved me and I can actually use Cinemachine a little now or at least use it enough to get past it to make games. But I truly hate Cinemachine camera system it is way more difficult than it has to be in my opinion. Unreal 4 and 5's cameras are easy to use in comparison and don't use all of the crazy settings and they use UE4 for making movies and tv productions trust me I am not knocking Unity I just wish they would have made it make better sense.
I know what you mean, they need a good way to structure it and better documentation and videos on the matter. Thanks for checking this out and best of luck with all your other projects! :)
Thanks! I spent like 4 hours trying to know why my camera doesn't follow my character
Is it all working now?
@@SpeedTutor yup, work finished hahahaha
Good job! :D
Request to make a tutorial where you capture screenshot of your game prefabs at regular intervals with transparent background. Also, output and save the image at desired resolution and location. Maybe also make gif from unity to capture gameplay
That's a very particular set of questions, I'd recommend creating a blank scene with a solid colour in the background, then take screenshots of your desired prefabs in there! :) For gifs, capture some gameplay with whatever software you like, or Unity capture software from the asset store, chop it down to less than 15 seconds, then upload to Giphy! That's what I do! :)
@@SpeedTutor well wanted to learn how to capture unity 3D animations inside unity. I know you can do that in blender.
You could use any recording software to do it but you can also get a Unity recorder from the store which might help you out! :)
Long time Matt, 👍
Hey man, how are you getting on?
A lot of code headaches Matt, I'm running from it 😅
That's what happens on a regular basis! Haha. What's giving you the biggest headache?
@@SpeedTutor simply my brain does not accept and like the idea of whole coding, but I have to deal with since we like game development.
Haha, when I learn something new - Something else important falls out, so it's a battle! :P
How do I make it so the soft spots don't go away and keep the camera smaller.
So does the player needs to be in hierarchy??
What if I am instantiating my prefab on start
I'd imagine you'd need to make sure your camera is following and looking at your player by referencing the parameter in the cinemachine camera! :)
@@SpeedTutor I solved the problem , but thanks for replying... what I did is I Instantiated the prefab in awake method and in separate script for cinemachine , I set the prefab to be followed in start method...this works perfectly fine!!!
That's awesome, thanks for sharing your technique! This may help some others in the future! :)
@SpeedTutor Hey Matt! I was wondering if you could help me with a quick problem I'm having with Cinemachine? I'm designing a Lego One Button Microgame using a One Button Minifigure, and Cinemachine was recommended to use to get the camera to pan and follow my minifig. I tried this tutorial, but it still does not track my player. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
So what happens? When you add your player character to the tracking slot it should follow automatically, it doesn't do this? You don't have any scripts interfering with camera movement?
@@SpeedTutor I don't have any scripts in my game at the moment, but I did use the Tutorial File as a starting point for my project, so I did not have any interaction with placing the original camera.
Maybe I'm confused with what you just said? :( Maybe explain what's going on again?
@@SpeedTutorIt's all good now because the hard drive on my computer gave out, so I can't fix the issue at the moment. Thanks for trying to help me out tho!
Oh no, good luck with fixing the NEW issue! There is always something new, haha.
Now pls make it turnable with the mouse and making the balls forward movement depending on the cameras looking direction 😄
As in, you make an a table below the sphere move and it moves like that?
@@SpeedTutor I mean it more like a casual third person camera 😄 when you turn the camera around the ball and lets say your camera is heading south, then the new forward of the ball is also south
I see what you mean! There might be something in that by default, I'm not sure how to even search what this is! Haha.
appreciate for your tutorial. Whenever I try to use a virtual camera or a freelook it moves my player & camera towards somewhere rapidly without in the play mode. I could not find any solution for that :// may you have any idea or cinemachine is broken? Unity version 2021.3.16f1
I don't use cinemachine very often, so I can't say for certain. Can you try in a new project? Different version of Unity also?
@@SpeedTutor I figured it out, it worked just by removing & re-installing package. Thank you for reply again!
Oh awesome, good work. Thanks for letting me know! :)
I can't see the video properly, and these settings are out of date for Unity 2022 unfortunately. They have removed the Follow Offset.
👍
Did it help?
@@SpeedTutor yes yes)
Any way to hook up camera control to gamepad?
You'd just need to edit your script to take into account an input option. You could use Unity's newer input system or a refined input system on the store like rewired. :)
@@SpeedTutor found out that I had to use the 'string' that referenced the right stick movements in the new Input System.
Awesome! You're a hero.
I cant see cinemachine at the top ive installed it tho?
Did you try and restart Unity?
@@SpeedTutor Oh yea it works now thanks!
Haha, I'm glad it's fixed :)
when i try it i cant fint the body in the cm vcam can someone help me?
Body of your controller?
@@SpeedTutor the body like in 1:41
Yours doesn't have it? Is it something similar?
@@SpeedTutor no i dont something similar
Unable to find Cinemachine in package manager
Did you select the wrong filter in the dropdown in the top left?
Matt Ive got an Idea, Ive bought SOO MANY Assets from the store that have cost me £1000's like Gaia, curved world, Destructable assets etc etc.. And sometimes If I dont know how to use it within 5 min I forget about it, I dont take the time to learn them, (Time is Precious!) What about doing tutorials off assets from the store?..The ones that need you to look throu the manual lol !?
Haha, I'll see what I can do! Of course, it takes me time to learn them too! Hahahaha.
@@SpeedTutor it's a pity I couldn't "gift" Roy some assets I've bought for you to learn, but when that's classed as piracy.😦
Don't worry about it, my friend! I've probably got most of them anyway! Hahaha.
Bad tutorial
Did you have issues?
