- Are you going for grunge? Or just wanting to accent the details? Using decorative waves can be tricky. I’m this video you see the differences in clear coating chalk paint BEFORE and AFTER using colored waxes.
Thank you for this tutorial. It was really nice to actually see the difference. So helpful!
Yay!! I’m so glad! And thank you for telling me!
Did I miss the clear coat over wax? I wanted to know if I can clear coat over wax.
I don’t usually clearcoat over decorative wax. Although you can if you want to after it is completely dry. It is self sealing so it’s not necessary.
I waxed over my clear coat but it looks like it will never adhere it’s just smeary. If I leave it alone will it eventually dry
Did you buff a clear wax after 15 minutes?
@@e320treasures7 I am also wanting to use decorative {white) wax over a clear coat. Not a clear wax over clear coat, but white wax over a clear coat, I want to use clear coat as opposed to clear wax because I think the wax I have may yellow my light gray chalk paint.
Before but you can NOT paint over wax!
You are absolutely right! Painting after waxing is a big no-no! In this video, I was trying to show how to control your wax after a CLEAR COAT. Because chalk paint is so porous if you wax over it, it will suck up the wax and be super grungy. If you’re looking to all control the wax, then clearcoating over the chalk paint is a must. And this would be for colored waxes, as I would not do this with clear wax.😁
@@e320treasures7 Yes absolutely I hard that from Brushed By Brandy Chanel a few years ago when I first started my french four póster canopy bed project. That lesson is vital and a very important reminder!
