Growing up in the 60's, I remember yelling "NO NOT AGAIN MOM" when she put the Tom Jones LP record on. I never appreciated Sir Tom until I was in my 40's. Amazing performer!
Same with me and my mom. I didn’t really to start to appreciate him until I saw him singing some blues on a PBS special. He is brilliant at singing the blues too.

In my humble opinion, Tom Jones is the male version of "The Voice" Whitney Houston (RIP), and Whitney is my all-time favorite female singer. Just like Whitney's voice, Tom Jones' voice is a MASTERPIECE. Even at 80 years old, Tom's voice is powerful and still going strong.
Great reaction....2 things....the song writing is one thing if a person agree with a subject matter or not...but there is NO denying the power of this man vocals, his delivery and powerful mastery of the song!

Even at that age I could feel these songs! We had a blue Rambler station wagon. Next door neighbor had a Chevy impala. We had a field at the end of the street where I kissed Susie and she slapped my face!

Between the 60's and the seventies were true entertainers. Elvis, Tom Jones, Donna Summer, Temptations, Supremes, Four Tops Paul Anka, I could go on and on!We fell in and out of love. This music gave us wonder memories!!
His version of "I Who Have Nothing" is my favorite. Try him doing "It's Not Unusual" as well. Tom Jones is still alive and singing at the ripe young age of 80.
Yes that's Tom Jones he appeared in the Prince of Bel-Air one of the most popular songs he has Out is it's not unusual to be loved by anyone or if not the most popular song
For me on the southwest side of Chicago , Flip Wilson, Diane Carroll Room 222 Motown ,The Impressions (Curtis Mayfield) . Songs told a story you could feel.
True story: My parents sent me to a Tom Jones concert in the early 70s. Why they didn't stay I do NOT know. I was ten, eleven? Women were throwing their underwear on stage. It was outrageous. But the man SANG.
At 80 years old he was recently interviewed by a female reporter and asked if women still threw their panties at him on stage. His answer? "Depends"....

Not many people can deliver a song like Sir Tom Jones (yes he was knighted). Hard to believe he’s over 80 now but still going strong. And Tome never had a hard time getting the ladies lol
It never ceases to amaze me how he is still able to sing with such power. Most singers have lost most of their vocal range way before his current age. He is amazing.
