Setting up 2FA for the company's account on an employee's personal device is already a security L. _Firing_ that employee _before_ transferring the 2FA is worse. Letting you keep working for three days after firing you is even worse than that! These people are hanging their whole-ass corporation on you being an uncommonly decent human being. If someone fired ME like that and I had the digital keys to their whole life? Well... that's why you're gonna see heaven and I'm not, I guess 😂
I've been through this. Here's what happened. M isn't supposed to speak with you or A as an ex employee without HR (advocates for the company) present. M and A went to HR to see if they could do anything to force you to give them access. HR had probably already gotten the officially "cooked" paperwork to M or A but they or one of them didn't fill it out yet. When M went to HR to try and ask ways to force you to give the information HR reprimanded him and probably A for speaking to you without them present. Now that M and A screwed the pooch by speaking with you particularly about employment stuff without them or a lawyer, you have leverage. Thus why HR contacted you after the call and will be the only ones who do from here on out. If you haven't already, let HR know that you've essentially been working after your termination date and the termination letter should reflect that (per the texts and calls you have). Edit: The feeling of watching your previous employer show how shitty and disorganized they are really puts the situation into perspective right?
This man truly is my Spirit Animal cuz that is some shit I woulda done. That or a 🤣 Like *"Oh, oh, oh, oh **_SCAWY!!!!_** Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh SHIVER ME TIMBUHS!!! **_SHATTUP, MAN!!!!"_* 😂😂😂
Oooooh. CEO *definitely* talked to a lawyer. He probably went to someone to demand that the lawyer get you in trouble and the lawyer instead let him know how badly he screwed up. Then came the frantic ass covering. I would put money on this.
Yeah, i got fired once and sent a letter to everyone in the company about how bullshit it was. At the end I asked for money. They emailed me back and said "we did nothing wrong everything you said was bullshit. That said if you sign this document that says you can never sue us, we'll give you that money." So then i called a lawyer....
Every time you tell us more about your old job, the happier I am for you for getting free from that circus. Can’t wait to see what heights you reach running Derepy full time!
The lesson I take from this story is that in the workplace, "redundancies" is just code for "jobs the CEO doesn't know are important because they don't have to".
😂Personally, after he sent that “call me immediately” , I would’ve told him, “I’ll call you in a bit”…. Then wait NINE DAYS to call then I’d say “whassup?” 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Yo, first off love the show ❤️ I work in IT and on the backend of Outlook daily. As an admin account they can: Remove your MFA, reset your password, give themselves access to the account without needing to sign in, deactivate the account, and about 100 other things that don't involve bothering you. The most surprising part to me is they left the account licensed so at any point in those 9 days you could have bombed out nefarious emails to any and every contact they have in the system.
HR is there to protect the company what he did was illegal and what the company did was just totally incorrect - they’re scared; terrified rather… that you’ll sue.
Came for the Kendrick and Drake stuff, stayed for your personality and humor, am now absolutely obsessed with this story arc. So glad a frustrating and gut punching experience has turned into a hilarious story to share. You are far better off without them. Much love to you and your's and may 2025 be your best year yet.
You know I have to wonder if rather than "having his coffee", your former CEO actually spoke to either his company's lawyer or his personal lawyer all fired up and ready to rake you across the coals, and the lawyer explained to him that not only do you have no responsibility to help him with anything as you are no longer an employee, but he *does* have a responsibility under law to give you your separation paperwork AND pay you for any help you've given since you were fired, since we made slavery illegal. Which is why you got the very nice message from HR. Because no way in hell do I think that CEO was smart enough to realize all that stuff himself.
I'm enjoying myself imagining that conversation. CEO: I have an employee trying to hold company documents hostage in order to receive quid pro quo! I need you to tell me what we can do to put the legal screws on this punk! Lawyer: Wow, that sounds rough. Can you give me more details? CEO: [explains] Lawyer: Let me get this straight. You yourself are engaging in quid pro quo to try to get an *ex*-employee to work for you FOR FREE, by refusing to provide documents that you're legally obligated to provide? You're aware of the 14th amendment, I hope? On top of all that, your ex-employee is a member of a protected class and has already provided you extensive free services? My brother in Christ, if you don't want to be in a heap of legal trouble big enough to tank the company, you're going to want to immediately provide him his documents and offer to pay him for the work he's done. If this gets made public, you're cooked.
Bruh. This saga keeps getting better. This CEO is an actual clown. Apparently has never heard of proper release before in his life. Because this is all entirely avoidable if his HR department was actually competent. Nevermind the IT oversight this whole thing is with the lack of separation between personal devices and corporate accounts. That and the fact you can't deactivate the account without being logged in
Boyyyyy,,, f-K that job! You had me CRYING laughing!!! You got the “derps” for sure. I’ll rock with you. Subscribed. and Ill become a member after my kids finish running my pockets

The audacity of this man to try to blame you for their mistakes. The "we gave you notice" part made my jaw drop. And HR coming in to course correct with the paperwork and extra PAY! GLORIOUS VINDICATION! God damn, the secondhand satisfaction I feel when people talk about one-upping their old boss is amazing! Gives me hope that I'll someday get to berate the fuck out of my boss for all of his bullshit. ETA: just got paid so I can do membership, but I don't know if I'll be able to afford it every month. We'll see!
Yeah, I'm glad i got in early on the Derapy train. Hopped on at the beginning of the beef, and now I'm asking for the ride for whatever you want to talk about. You're definitely going to be big.

Ok I've been in Cybersecurity Compliance for years. Here are a few things they did wrong: - They don't need to login into your email to disable it. - unless there is an investigation he should not be accessing your email. - The most ridiculous part is that they could have just reset your password in active directory. - Homeboy broke privacy laws. Someone in HR told him he could be sued 😂. - it's all in the NIST privacy framework. Which I'm pretty sure they need to abide by.
I would've said some shit like. Sorry that you laying me off without notice right before Christmas is inconvenient for you. That must be very frustrating.lol
Someone else has probably already said this, but it sounds like CEbrO called HR or legal to see if he could make good on his threats and was dressed down by a professional- because had they not paid you for the work they’ve asked from you since terminating your employment, you’d have had a legitimate labor complaint against them AND without paying you to access the work email and coordinate with former boss, they could never force you to do it.
“BITCH! I got the DERPS!” Hell yeah. Real talk I found this channel randomly during the aftermath of the Kendrick / Drake beef and now I’ve been invested in this guy’s whole professional / personal life because it’s being played out like a literal sitcom. Derapy gang. 🤘🏾

You asked a terminate employee to conduct business-related activities... AND YOU DID IT IN WRITING?! Over multiple days... Then you called them... and yelled threats about... but are actively witholding his termination paperwork...which prevents him for applying for unemployment" and - at best - falls into a gray area for retaliation- "... okay." They saw a probable lawsuit. One they'd probably have to settle.
