Thanks for your support as always much appreciated…if you haven’t subscribed already it would really help me out and might help you out in future with future videos 🙌👍👍
Thanks again for the content you provide. Nice job on the rad pipe elbow repair (Could you have imagined trying to do that with press fit 😅). Thanks for showing the hive upgrade too. Shower tray situation is a headache, glad you kept the installation instructions to hand, I normally take pictures of all installation instructions I come across and used them to create myself a personal reference guide in plain English 🤭 since I'm pretty new to certain jobs. Hope all goes well with the shower tray saga, its not down to any fault of your own, I was advised whilst studying that the manufactures instructions are most important and if you follow them your back SHOULD be covered. 🤞🙏
I’m really glad that you are going to keep us updated on the shower tray. Call backs are always stressful. This one is going to cost. I really hope that you get referrals from this.
I know mate, really ain’t good, tiles am mega expensive, glass was heavy when I put it in and the tray away a pain before everything was put in…not a good one but sure I will sort it mate 🙌👍👍
Had a similar issue with a shower tray supplied by Vic@#*an pl@*#ng and they insisted they had a big red sticker on the tray saying test first before fixing! 3 of us on the job and all agreed there was no such sticker. Test a shower tray before fixing it to the floor and before tiling it…..really! Good luck with that one mate.
I don't know about VP, but other big name chains are also blatant BS merchants in my experience. They will say anything to cover their arses, as 99% of the time, it won't be tested in a court of law. I think it was the guy from Plumber Parts that did a whole video on a shower tray that wouldn't seal, and the manufacturer kept sending him replacements that were all the same crap quality, with the manufacturer stating each time they had been tested before sending. It was obvious that the manufacturer was just spinning him a yarn to see how far he would go before he gave up. Can't remember, but I think it took 4 or 5 replacements before he got one that worked.
Great video again Advice on that forroli, a couple of hard tap with a lump hammer to the side panel and you should be able to get your hand in… Those boilers are crap, I’ve seen 3 fail on main heat exchanger gaskets fail, not the burner door gasket but the actual gasket whats all compressed into the moulding on the stainless steel and plastic, fails and allows condense to drip, especially from the front and drip onto the gas valve plug ,,!
Some ‘cracking’ content keeps coming 😊. Also love the fact you think about future videos and what you could include which will be different to what’s already out there. Finally that black eye is taking some disappearing!
Thanks for sharing, so I thought I would share this story with you. How’s this for a shower tray nightmare ? A guy re fits an en suite, and on his last day on the job, after everything is done, he picks up his tools just as he is about to go, he has one last look at the bathroom and shower tray, and guess what 🤔 The Drill fell out of his clasp and cracked the shower tray, 😢 Poor Lad, he was only a few weeks into his self employment, and yes, it cost him, he made a loss 🥴 Just shows you tho, it’s a very tricky career, underestimated at times. But you always do a good job yourself, well done 👍
@@bluebulldog_uk Yes, he sorted it, although he did have to pay for a replacement tray and refit it all, But it does highlight the unpredictability of the job. As you have shown too on a few occasions, and full credit for rectifying them 👍 I enjoy watching your videos, you do a Good job. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Luke, that shower tray gonna be a nightmare, looks like you got to rip most of it out and as good as start again, also no doubt the manufacturer/dealer wll be hard work as well, I reckon a week lost, good luck mate 👍
I had a similar issue about 5 years ago, had a customer that had a mouse chew through a cable, but it was below a tiled bathroom floor and the layout of the room below prevented me from getting access below, so she rang the insurance to cover the re-tile cost etc, and they refused to pay, on the grounds that she hadnt put in place adaquate rodent control.....😮😮😮.. these robbing companies will make any excuse under the sun to get out of paying a claim.
Wow, they was digging deep to reject that claim, what did they expect the customer to do, set mouse traps underfloor? 😅 unbelievable insurance company’s am sometimes
Thanks for the video. Oh that shower tray. Can imagine heart sinks when you get a call like that. Hope all get sorted out for you mate and the customer is good. Looking forward for the video once get done. 👍
o no not again :( you keep smiling so all good :) So they will give you a new tray and you have to bare the cost and time of fitting it and sorting all the other bits like tiles ect!
It's been this way for as long as I can remember here in the states. They will only pay for water damage in the event of storm damage, earthquake, fire, etc. Example: If during an earthquake a pipe burst or maybe the water heater overturns and spills out its content, then that's covered. They will not cover water damage that's a result of equipment failure: pipe fittings, gaskets, frozen pipes that split open in winter, failure of water seals such as O-rings and so on....Faulty plumbing and associated equipment isn't covered unless physically damaged by an "act of god"....
To be honest I’m not holding much hope of them actually taking any responsibility, I think they will make it so hard to try and claim they will hope I give up but we will see, there is always a loop hole for insurances thou
Doesn’t sound right to me mate even the most basic of home insurance covers escapes of water. They don’t cover the repair of the pipe, only the water damage. Excesses can be high as well making it pointless, so maybe they got wrong end of the stick
They pay an extra premium on top of home insurance that should cover there plumbing and electrics etc but there is a clause for concealed pipework not covered
Insurance companies always find a way to weasel out of claims. Biggest robbers going. Nice repair on that rad. 😊 Be interested to hear how you get on with the shower tray. Good job you have the videos and instructions to cover yourself.
They will mate, they will find a loophole to get out of it and it will end up costing me a lot to put right, most important thing thou is getting it done for customer, il keep you updated mate should make a good video from a bad experience
I know mate…last 2 videos I’ve had half the views with normal thumbnails and to be honest I thought them videos had better hints and tips in them…with the thumbnails unfortunately titles and pictures bell push a video on UA-cam…I don’t want to dramatise the thumbnails to be honest but videos do perform better

Is that a crosswater tray? Looks pretty much the same as one I fitted a couple of years back
Can’t remember mate, il double check and let everyone know when I replace it, still waiting on manufacture to get back to me at moment
o no not again :( you keep smiling so all good :) So they will give you a new tray and you have to bare the cost and time of fitting it and sorting all the other bits like tiles ect!
Gotta keep going 😅 not sure yet to be honest just gotta wait to see what they say

Why can't I find a plumber like you in Co Durham?
You're a top lad and I've loved watching your vids of late.
You have a new subscriber.
Thanks mate really appreciate the support, hopefully you’ll find a me your way 😅👍👍
From my experience the insurance will pay for damages made by the leak but not to rectify.
Depends if he’s referring to home emergency as an added cover
Still waiting to hear back from them been over a week now
Doesn’t sound right to me mate even the most basic of home insurance covers escapes of water. They don’t cover the repair of the pipe, only the water damage. Excesses can be high as well making it pointless, so maybe they got wrong end of the stick

Ferolli boilers are a pile of crap. Good video
I’d have to agree although the old Modena…not a bad boiler to work on and fix
The jobs of insurance company's is to do anything to avoid paying out...
Sounds about right mate
Why is the shower floor so rough, looks like it’s been smoothed down with a hammer and chisel?
Just what they wanted mate, very specific tray had to be ordered in
Who is Dan from Central Heatking? I only know a Ben 👀😂
😂😂😂 love that

Sounds about right, always a way out for them
why did you not just take the vessel out
Just disturbing another part and seal

Boo to insurance companies

And some people I've spoken to, do not like you. Your vids are depressing.
