With James Gunn’s new DCU coming out right around the corner, please, please do a tier list of the DCEU movies!!! (Man of Steel, BvS, Suicide Squad, WW, etc.) 🙏🙏🙏 🙏
lol I’m so glad you highlighted the worst moment in revenge of the Sith. “You are so beautiful”. “No it’s because I’m so in love”. “No it’s because I’m so in love with you!” “So love has blinded you?” “That’s not what I meant”. “But it’s probably true”. 😂😂😂
It's a terribly written take on a idea from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince". The idea being, when you love something and care for it for so long, it becomes the most important thing to you. It's a very matter of fact idea. I'm not entirely sure how George Lucas messed it up. Maybe he wanted to rewrite it or do something different with it. The actors had such little chemistry and the writing was just so bad. Nothing that came out of Revenge of the Sith was ever going to be acceptable.
Funny….. The Little Prince is UBER popular in Latin America if you were a kid in the 70s and 80s….. the author was married to a feisty Latin Lady from El Salvador…. Hence the volcano and rose references…..
Late to the party on this one, but good list overall! Love your channel mainly because I feel like I relate to you on most of your opinions. ROJ was also my favorite growing up and it still holds a special place because I feel like it really was a good end to the original trilogy. Could go on for hours about Star Wars….but I won’t lol. Look forward to the next one man!
Excellent video Mickeyc, even though i don't agree with some of your prequel ranking i respect your opinion especially when it comes to Disney Lucasfilm, that's pretty spot on 😊
I think the only SW thing I have any use for now is the Holiday Special. One of my favorite holiday traditions is to get really, really baked and watch it with the Rifftrax commentary. By the time I get to the end, I really do feel like I'm in a galaxy far, far away 😂
My parents both saw Empire Strikes Back right around the fall of the former Soviet Union when my mom was like 16 and my dad was 13. My mom was a friend if my dad's older sister and the three of them went to a janky bootleg theater to watch it. None of them spoke English (they still don't) but my dad says my mom cried when Han said "I know" after Leah said "I love you" and he knew he would marry her someday. Then about eleven years later I was born so yeah Star Wars brought them together. Both hate the Disney stuff though 🤷
That Ahsoka score was bangin'. Ha. Nice choice. Star Wars was EVERYWHERE in the late '70s and early '80s. At least it was for kids. At least it was for this kid. Kid IPs weren't a new thing, being awash in kid IPs wasn't a new thing, but Star Wars was king of the kid IP mountain for a decade. Each movie release (even SW '77) was preceded by a year of media (back when broadcast television was our breathable atmo), all kids had some of the toys. Even after RotJ came and went and other monster IPs came along, we looked back at The King, dropped *everything* if it was on television. There continued to be a flow of books, comics, cartoons, etc, it all seemed to be looking backwards. "Wouldn't you like new a Star Wars movie?" Yes, ofc, even kids knew Lucas himself said it was a 9-part story! But we didn't think we would ever see it in our lifetimes (the prequels were to us as 7-9 were to the generation that followed us, you see). I hadn't yet realized that, going all the way back to the silent era, popular things get revisisted, rebooted, exploited ALL THE TIME. (How many times was The Wizard of Oz made, before The Wizard of Oz was made? A LOT) It's inevitable. Be careful what you wish fo--oh, nvm, it will happen anyway, and you'll be sorry. Then the SW trilogy was remastered and rereleased in theaters and even tho it was altered it was still awesome. And I could own it, and watch it anytime. On VHS on my 25" tube TV. Amazing. And it was confirmed that NEW MOVIES were coming. What a time to be alive. And the day finally came. I went to see it with my family, I had just finished college I was out on my own, it was such an amazing time. The theater was crowded. And from the first scene ... "Wouldn't you like new a Star Wars movie?" ... YES ... but not like this. It was a long, agonizing, in-my-face lesson in how jarring experiencing a new, flawed actuality can be as it rams up against the unlimited potential of an amorphous idea that lives in my head. WtF is this sh*t? (after 16yrs of wait and mental pedestal raising ... what could have met those expectations ... ?) When our new Phantom friends were playing around underwater, I went to the bathroom. Only 1 other person was in the facility, a very large man that ran a very well-known nerd-emporium (Comics, RPGs, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc). I remember feeling so bad for him, an older fan from a preceding generation, who waited just as long as I had, to be let down like this. And that was only what, 15min in? I haven't checked. Since then, I have had similar experiences with IPs so many time. So, so, so many times. Been disappointed many times, felt bad for others many times. Going with a long-established D&D group (they had played together since the mid-80s) to see the 2001 D&D movie was another excruciating experience. Now there's SO MUCH, the media industrial streaming complex wants to forcefeed a torrent of IP rehash ... Star Wars, Star Trek, Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats, GI Joe, freakin' Quantum Leap, DOOOOOOOOOOON ... if it was ever a thing, we want to reheat it for you and a new generation. "Wouldn't you like new a Star Wars movie?" No, no I would not. I have them right here. A geezer is a human that has finally become impervious to marketing.
@mickeyc. Also I love the tier list style of video. You should 100% do more. One small change I would make though is to label the rankings S A B C D F. That’s pretty much how everybody else does them because S is like a very special ranking and nobody ranks anything E. Can’t wait to see more! :)
I've always thought the prequels should be adapted into radio dramas. The ones for the original trilogy are fanatastic, and it's a great way of expanding the stories.
I feel like an F is too harsh for attack of the clones. Maybe a D+. For Disney plus extraneous content. Do you hate sand? It’s course and it’s rough and it gets everywhere but it has its purposes.
Andor is too slow moving but you’re right it’s great. Solo was whatever. It was funny how Lando and the robot are implied to be lovers. Obi Wan was cool to me but I wasn’t expecting anything from it and enjoyed it more than not. Ahsoka has potential to be better in season two. I agree that it’s too soft. Things of consequence need to happen - exactly.
You were 17 when the force awakens came out. I was 17 when revenge of the Sith came out. lol. I saw it at midnight with my mom. Your dad sounds cool. I like the force awakens legitimately, I think it’s a good movie.
OK so hear me out I was thinking for a long time what’s bugging me about this setup and I think it’s the two bright lights shining in my face like I’m being interrogated by the good looking gay police officer.
Rogue one sucks I’m so glad you don’t like it. I guess it’s an okay movie technically but it’s very lacking for a Star Wars movie. You’re spot on with all your criticism and it’s understandable you would love the phantom menace being born in 98’. I saw it with my my friends in 5th grade we even took school off. The ending of rogue one is bad ass agreed.
Ha! For me it’s the Original Trilogy and The Phantom Menace….. I just like it’s production design and how they shot in ACTUAL LOCATIONS….. though oddly enough…. In the 80s when I was a kid….. I thought Empire Strikes Back was SUUUUUUPER LONG and boring….. compared to the first and last movies in the trilogy…..
Ride of Skywalker is bad. Yes it’s very pandering and lame. I kind of liked some of it because I don’t know it was kind of funny watching how random It all was. Adam Driver was good in this trilogy as well. I’m not saying it was well written but watching his arc wasn’t terrible. He’s the best character in the Disney movies.
Oh I forgot. Listen, I want to...I don't know, offer some food for thought. This new trilogy being talked about, I know, it's a scary proposition given the writers previous work. But...a overarching story written by one person. It's a solid idea. A true trilogy. This is exactly what they did wrong with the last 3 movies, they weren't a trilogy, each written by someone knew with no looking back at what was written in the previous movie. Being rid of this clear hinderance and moving forward with a single writer for a trilogy is only a good thing. So...positive thoughts!
The Last Jedi is a good movie. It completely ruins Star Wars but I liked the movie. LOL. I’m serious, that movie is better than an F. It’s not that bad. lol this is really the only thing I disagree with you about
Regarding your tier list, I think you go a bit too extreme with your picks. Just the fact nothing was in the E category kind of says it when I thought the Clone Wars movie could've filled that spot easily for the sheer fact it was every bit a forgettable backdoor pilot to a TV series.
I'm of the minority who didn't like the Mandalorian season 1. Felt the main character was weak for the simple fact you can't see his face and feel anything emotional about him. As far as I know, that could be a stunt man and Pedro is doing voice over. Felt baby Yoda and Carl Weathers were the only things that saved that season for me. The episodic format of bouncing from side quest to another side quest I also didn't feel was engaging because you know there's a slim chance whatever happened in that episode is coming back and while Timothy Olyphant came back later on, it felt too disjointed for my liking. Actually very hot take here, I thought Boba Fett series was better than Mandalorian season 1. At least Boba Fett season one the things involved in that series eventually came together at the end. Also it wasn't about boring Mandalore. I think that might be the other issue I had with Mandalorian season 1 which is that I find the Mandalorians some of the most boring characters I've had to sit through in anything sci-fi.
Wanting to be memed as a goal is one of the craziest yet amazing things I've ever heard.
With James Gunn’s new DCU coming out right around the corner, please, please do a tier list of the DCEU movies!!! (Man of Steel, BvS, Suicide Squad, WW, etc.) 🙏🙏🙏 🙏
SW is not "Star Wars" anymore, it's "Star Womenz", since KK is so extremely fanatic into "putting a chick in it and making her gay".
Yes vote on long form, essay video on the prequels! 🙋🏻♂️
lol I’m so glad you highlighted the worst moment in revenge of the Sith. “You are so beautiful”. “No it’s because I’m so in love”. “No it’s because I’m so in love with you!” “So love has blinded you?” “That’s not what I meant”. “But it’s probably true”. 😂😂😂

ROTS is the perfect blend of tragedy and comedy.

This is awesome!!! Also I like your haircut

Disney brings us together through disgust
The acolyte was so bad. Yes it felt like that six year old wrote it in crayon and changed the characters intentions every five minutes.
I'd love to see you rank movie musicals sometime 😂😂😂
1. Wicked!!!
I have the exact same opinion of the original trilogy you spoke facts on the entire original trilogy. Completely spot on
That Ahsoka score was bangin'. Ha. Nice choice.

Would love to see an in depth prequels video from you. The prequels are my favorite of all the Star Wars films. Loved your rankings.
ok
You should definitely do an in-depth review of the prequels. I’d love to see that
On it!
@mickeyc. Also I love the tier list style of video. You should 100% do more. One small change I would make though is to label the rankings S A B C D F. That’s pretty much how everybody else does them because S is like a very special ranking and nobody ranks anything E. Can’t wait to see more! :)
@@james yeah I thought about having S but just did it my way 🤣 next time will be updated for sure!
The guy who made Fat4Stick and Dark Phoenix…a ringing endorsement to never go to the theater.
I've always thought the prequels should be adapted into radio dramas. The ones for the original trilogy are fanatastic, and it's a great way of expanding the stories.
Would love to see a long form prequel video
SOLID list. I'd move Ep 1 to C, Ep 3 to B and Rogue One to B
As a non-Star Wars fan, Rogue One is the only SW thing I've watched more than once.
I feel like an F is too harsh for attack of the clones. Maybe a D+. For Disney plus extraneous content. Do you hate sand? It’s course and it’s rough and it gets everywhere but it has its purposes.
he needs to cut down on the death stixx, an F for Attack lol i mean it´s clearly the worst of the OT but an an FF? come on hahaha
OTs that is
I agreed with you pick 😮😮😮😮👍👍👍👍👍
The phantom menace is the worst movie we’ve all seen multiple times. You’re right about its strengths and weaknesses.
I still haven't seen TROS and I never will.
OK so hear me out I was thinking for a long time what’s bugging me about this setup and I think it’s the two bright lights shining in my face like I’m being interrogated by the good looking gay police officer.
I'm sorry you hate it
Hey Mickey c do you watch Mike zeron ?
Never heard of them
@@mickeyc. ok he talks about star wars news on his UA-cam channel
Your not alone Mickey other than the end of Rogue one it doesnt give us much and the character development totally blows
Please don't say "Obi Wan verse Grievous". They didn't read love poetry to each other. It's "VERSUS".
Rogue one sucks I’m so glad you don’t like it. I guess it’s an okay movie technically but it’s very lacking for a Star Wars movie.
