@@R3TR0221 I've never thought about it, but yeah, I think your right. Palps would DEFINITELY base the new calendar on the birth of the empire. Thank you for joining us today, Firmus Piett. You are interviewing today for the open position that we have in the Security Department here on Axxila. After reviewing your resume, you were a former Admiral in the Imperial Navy? "Yes." What are your greatest strengths/weaknesses? "I'm a very experienced and able officer, as you can see on my resume. That would be my greatest strength. Weaknesses? Well, I hate working with bounty hunters. I just like to know where a person's loyalties lie before I work with them." How would your previous co-workers describe you? "I was Admiral Kendal Ozzel's personal confidant on many occasions as he was my superior before I served as Admiral on the Executor. He would describe me as loyal, dead pan and blunt at times, but with a dark sense of humor." Tell me something about yourself that isn’t on your resume. "Well, I have excellent survival skills, that's for sure. In one such incident in the past, I was serving as Fleet Admiral in the Imperial Navy when a fighter pilot actually, purposefully flew into the bridge of the Executor, causing the Executor to veer out of control and crash into Death Star II. To this day, I can't believe my luck, but I was able to fall off the dias, scramble off the bridge and get out in an escape pod. I thought I did pretty well all of those years serving Lord Vader and the Emperor directly." Tell me about a past difficult work situation. How did you overcome it? "Lord Vader had replaced Admiral Ozzel and Captain Viett, and I had only just began to serve under him, and there was this particular incident when we were in orbit over Bespin near one of their mining colonies. Lord Vader specifically directed me to deactivate the hyper-drive on a contraband YT freighter. My team did it - I verified the order myself - but in a key moment, the ship got away to hyper-drive as we were readying our tractor beam. I was frozen in shock, and to this day, I have no idea how that happened. But Lord Vader kept me as Admiral, and I overcame my daily fear at first by indulging in my lifetime love of Axxilian Negronis, but I'm happy to say that I'm 3 years sober." Describe a time when you had to work with someone whose personality or work style was very different from yours. "Lord Vader was a very curious fellow at times. One time I even saw him without his helmet, although it was from the rear, but he seemed to have a barely controlled rage about him, and you always had to remain on your toes and be as punctual as possible with him. I demanded a great deal of preparation from my team during that time to have the most flexibility for anything to happen, and to be ready for any order to be given. I basically did whatever he told me." Very well! We expect to fill the position soon and we'll be in touch. "Thank you."

At the end of ESB when Landon & Chewie are in the cockpit of the Falcon, Luke says "Chewie we'll be waiting for your signal"...did they have a different plan for getting Han back?
Sorry, but Palpatine himself has stated that Anakin would never be able to perform Sith lightning due to his debilitating injuries sustained on Mustafar, which included the loss of his only remaining organic arm. The ability to use force lightning is vastly different than improvising in a fistfight due to having only one arm.
@@timppaUT What are you freaking talking about? Palpatine didn't die until Anakin turned back to the light and killed him to save his Son, Luke, sacrificing himself in the process.
So what's the "From a Certain Point of View"-gymnastics answer for Luke and Ben having zero problem in telling two helpless droids the entire Empire is looking for to "wait outside" when they're refused service? A New Hope should have ended when they exit the cantina and the droids are gone forever.
1:31:00 on the topic of Anakin becoming a force ghost, I remember reading an Obi Wan book in my school library that had him reach out to Anakin's spirit as it was about to pass into the living force and showed him the path to becoming a ghost in the limited time they had. Idk how much that fits with the lore and I have no idea if that book is canon or not but I think its a sweet explanation, that Obi-Wan realised he was wrong about Anakin and wanted his old friend back. Side note: I really enjoyed that book as a kid (and the one on Luke that I think was written by the same author). They both tell the story of Obi Wan saving Luke from a Krayt dragon from each of their perspectives iirc, and goes into Obi Wan's time on Tatooine in a way that I really liked.
12:45 Kessel was located in an area of space with a LOT of black holes, and navigating that area in the shortest distance absolutely would be a feat worth bragging about. This would mean that he was able to get closer to each black hole before making the next jump which would be an impressive feat. Obi-Wan being skeptical would also not be a surprise, because he would likely not believe anyone could navigate the area that tightly without running afoul of a black hole. 14:15 Han shot first. There is no other answer. Lucas changed it because he didn't want Han to look "heartless" (or some such nonsense) but there reality was that Han lived in a world where being hunted and gunned down like that was part of the deal. He knew he would have to shot to stay alive and he did what he needed to do... and calculated that the people in the bar likely wouldn't say anything. 51:30 I don't know where I read it but I'm sure there we other IG models. IG-88 was just a model that broke his programming and was independent, later becoming a bounty hunter.
Hey don't forget Hobbie. Wedge and Hobbie, Sabines defection was years before, the Rebellion was even a thing. The spectres were just a rogue cell. Sabine helped wedge a Hobbie escape and defect.
Another reason the light saber battle between Darth Vader and obi wan was so slow compared to the past should be obvious they were both a lot older and can't move as fast anymore
I like to imagine the medal ceremony only containing our three heroes has a pretty simple and plausible in-universe explanation: the Alliance probably awarded medals to all of the surviving pilots, but did it one person at a time - similar to a high school graduation, where people traditionally walk up one by one to a podium to receive their diplomas. I imagine the Alliance, knowing our three heroes were all friends, was more than willing to let *the guy who destroyed the freaking Death Star* tag along with his new buddies to receive the award. Wedge and others could have come before or after.
There are many instances in the literary EU that reference hyperspace tracking/pursuit by taking note of a ship's trajectory and jumping right behind on the same vector. A technician listens for the hyperspace wake, like sonar on a submarine to be sure they are following, and hits the hyperdrive kill switch when he hears the target ship sounds like its dropping out of hyperspace. It takes lots of training and skill to be good at it. If you are not in pursuit and just monitoring a ship, you can also take note of the trajectory and accurately guess where they are headed based on the lane they have to be traveling on. A tactic to ambush them then would be the send ships in a chain of hyperspace exits so someone comes out near enough to the target to see them on the realspace tracking sensors. You can jump in any random direction to escape, but it must be a very short jump to ditch the pursuers... a la light speed skipping... before a calculated path must be chosen, cus as Han says you can jump into a star or black hole or something if you do not use proper calculations. The light speed skip is a tactic that is described in canon. You make a couple short random jumps to hide which way you are really going cus, like I said, there are only so many clear lanes and possible exit points because of objects and gravity wells and an ambusher could accurately guess where you are headed. But the odds of light speed skipping to 3 random places like in the movie would be highly unlikely. And your hyperdrive motivator would drop you out of hyperspace before you came near enough to be within a planet's atmosphere when you came out. And it wouldn't let you jump back out so near a gravity well. So the way its done in TROS is impossible. Most long hyperspace trips did require multiple stops and course changes to get across the galaxy without running into something. Though its not really the object you collide with, but the displacement in space-time its mass/gravity creates. In hyperspace you are not on this dimensional plane, so small objects like asteroids and other ships you pass right through. But the gravity shadow of massive objects can be collided with. The Holdor Manuever... its the space-time disruption that destroyed the star destroyer, not the matter of the ship jumping into it. It would be somewhat difficult to pull off because if you jump too early you pass right through and your wake disipates. Jump too late and you just crash into the target, and a ship that size, it wouldnt have been a killing blow, just a hole in the hull. It's gotta be timed just right. And there is a possibility Holdor survived. For reals. Though most likely, her ship broke up from thr disruption as well, and it and her corpse will be hurtling through hyperspace til it eventually gets pulled into a gravity well.
1:34:34 I had a writing teacher that taught an ellipses is three dots and only three dots. If an ellipses is at the end of a sentence, that sentence is closed with a period.... I think the rule can be found in Strunk & White's Elements of Style. As somebody that has pretty much never stopped reading since I learned how, this rule is often neglected...
45:20 my interpretation of it is not only that theres darkness within us all, but also that fighting/hurting someone else is essentially fighting yourself since we are all connected(by the force?). Defeating the evil and being a hero doesnt automatically ensure facing your inner demons and growing as a person, maybe hinting that luke should act with compassion and instead of fighting, focus on healing himself and his father.
17:30 On youtube there is a fantastic remastering of Obi Wan and Vader's final duel that I consider canon as it's how it should have been done if they had the means to back in the day. Check it out y'all it's amazing!
An easy fix would've been to establish the Kessel run had several routes and the shortest route was notoriously an extremely treacherous and dangerous run. Perhaps it could've been a pilot's tradition to debate who's ship could make it through the twelve parsec route
I always wanted to know where Porkins was suppose to go. His ship, during the Death Star attack, starts to break up & Biggs tells him to "Eject"! Watching these to have some ammunition for when my kids throw an endless stream of ”why did he do that’s” while watching the movies
you must have amazing excuses akin to one who still believe the "democrat party"
I have missed you and your wife's Star wars vlogs
“So anyway I said forget the dental plan, forget sick leave I just want a railing, one railing”
Wasn't Palpatin already death at that point!?
@@timppaUT What are you freaking talking about? Palpatine didn't die until Anakin turned back to the light and killed him to save his Son, Luke, sacrificing himself in the process.
@@timothyvanhoeck233 Oh? Was it so? I thought Anakin killed him before he became Darth Vader. My bad.
@@timppaUT You're thinking of Darth Tyranus (a.k.a. Count Dooku)
@@timothyvanhoeck233 Could be? It's years since I watched those sequrl movies.
Oh boy, it's 'Biggest Questions ANSWERED' Prequal Trilogy edition time!
This is such high quality content. Like what a great collection of answers to just have on hand for arguments 😂
Ok, the Force choke motivational speech was truly inspirational 😅 - Din
Boba Fett sees Han's hiding trick before.
That extra dot on the crawl would've put them over budget ;)
So what's the "From a Certain Point of View"-gymnastics answer for Luke and Ben having zero problem in telling two helpless droids the entire Empire is looking for to "wait outside" when they're refused service? A New Hope should have ended when they exit the cantina and the droids are gone forever.
There are a lot of movies that would be a lot shorter if the story was logical. 😂
Moral of the story... don't fakkk with peoples reputations. Great message Mate! Can't wait to see all the people he's screwed, vindicated!!! 😁👍
"and then he tried to shoot the slug in the face" is probably the funniest line you could've come up with incredible work 1:07:13
These four brothers make me cry everytime I watch this masterful masterful masterful😢😅😊
I personally loved his movies and antics on screen. God bless his soul
Kessel Run may have been more of an obstacle course than a race from A to B.
IG-88 was just a model that broke his programming and was independent, later becoming a bounty hunter.
awesome video!!! I wish disney made movies of the novels
Let's compose ourselves and not complicate this compilation.
"E CHU TA" Translated to what that old lady said to the new sheriff in Blazing Saddles.
Hey don't forget Hobbie. Wedge and Hobbie, Sabines defection was years before, the Rebellion was even a thing. The spectres were just a rogue cell. Sabine helped wedge a Hobbie escape and defect.
I love that Lando won a brewery... Thus creating Colt 45!
Excellent video! Thank you, Alex and Mollie!
56:26 Lucas knew exactly what he was doing concerning Vader being Luke’s father from the very beginning. “Vader” is literally Dutch for “Father”.
Its funny that a book like Heir to the Jedi answered so many random questions
Very informative! Thanks :)
The pilot at 21:00 is clearly Max Verstappen
Another reason the light saber battle between Darth Vader and obi wan was so slow compared to the past should be obvious they were both a lot older and can't move as fast anymore
6:13 and stress give you wrinkles
I like to imagine the medal ceremony only containing our three heroes has a pretty simple and plausible in-universe explanation: the Alliance probably awarded medals to all of the surviving pilots, but did it one person at a time - similar to a high school graduation, where people traditionally walk up one by one to a podium to receive their diplomas. I imagine the Alliance, knowing our three heroes were all friends, was more than willing to let *the guy who destroyed the freaking Death Star* tag along with his new buddies to receive the award. Wedge and others could have come before or after.
Even in blue harvest (the family guy Star Wars) points out the parsec thing
This was really good. I can't imagine the time that must have gone into creating this. Thank you, and again, well done! 💯
I'm assuming that the jawas didn't look anything like the short guys on Spaceballs. Lol 😂
17:30 On youtube there is a fantastic remastering of Obi Wan and Vader's final duel that I consider canon as it's how it should have been done if they had the means to back in the day. Check it out y'all it's amazing!
0:00 this is where the fun begins
Love ❤Star Wars
An easy fix would've been to establish the Kessel run had several routes and the shortest route was notoriously an extremely treacherous and dangerous run. Perhaps it could've been a pilot's tradition to debate who's ship could make it through the twelve parsec route
I always wanted to know where Porkins was suppose to go. His ship, during the Death Star attack, starts to break up & Biggs tells him to "Eject"! Where in the cold vacuum of space was he suppose to go? Land on the surface of the D Star, find a maintenance hatch & knock asking if Darth can come out to play?
1:14:30 at the exact moment you said Mon MOTHma a tiny moth landed on my TV... The Force exists!
i think vader absolutely kept Obi Wan's hilt
The question no one ever answers is this where the storm troopers walking around Mos Eisley with their guns not loaded? When the millennium falcon is getting ready to leave one of Storm troopers says all right man load your weapons as they enter the hanger
In the original audiobooks, Luke is heard building his lightsaber.
He is frustrated that he can't get it right, until he remembers what Yoda had said to him about letting the Force guide him, instead of trying to force it to work.
I swear in the novelization of A New Hope it was stated that the reason they didn't fire upon the escape pod is because they were conserving power due to maintenance.
1:25:51 there’s a lucas interview stating that vader’s power is diminished after his defeat by kenobi. This would explain his absence of force electricity.
Thanks again, Alex! 🧾
I like the Robot chicken rendition of whether Darth Vader actually had dinner on cloud city
