BB said once in a interview in the late 80s in the height of the shred craze “...Well now in the Blues it doesn’t matter how many notes you play. All that matters is did you tell the truth...” Music is a conversation and this Man told us allll about life ❤️
@@michaelclark9762 If you can play like that and make it look sooo easy, you MUST be the best ! Riley and Lucille were a match made in musical heaven !
At 75 I have been listening to BB since 1966 when I was a high school senior. Wes Montgomery and BB King. I always thought BB was best sitting on that stool singing and playing Lucille. 👋👱♀️🇺🇲
His intricate yet hyper guitar playing goes beautifully with his low and almost growling voice. It makes a beautiful contrasting combination and I think that's what makes B.B. King stand out among the many other great blues artists. It's almost as if he is a ventriloquist.
Claudia Fuentes im only 42 but i was raised up on him and his music! he was my dad favorite and after his passing B.B. became my favorite as well. But anyways i like your comment and i can actually see what you're talking about lol
TC Wimbley I'm glad you've held on to the dear memories of your father in BB's music. One day I too want to pass this on to my kid. And hey! I'm only 25 but I was raised on blues, jazz, and disco haha!
Claudia Fuentes this is far better than any of the crap that's out there! And i am seriously putting forth an effort too make sure that my kiddos have a clue of not only B.B but a lot of other blues men and there music
Nobody plays the guitar quite like Mr. B.B. King...The Blues Master himself!!! "Nobody loves me but my mother, & she could be jivin' too!". Great lyric! Bravo, Riley King!
When dimebag was killed it made me realize how important it is to see these legends play live. Shortly after BB came to my town and I didn't hesitate. I got a nice 80 dollar ticket and went by myself. Such an emotional experience for me. Everyone was super dressed up (except for me), it was at a prestigious venue. I would close my eyes and picture an old smoke-filled blues club and would get all into it and yell out "Fokk yeah!". The hoity toities didn't know what to do. It was classic. He passed away a few years later and I was sad for everyone who never got the chance that I had, but was so happy and proud to have spent an evening with BB. Rock in peace BB and Dime!🤘🎸💚
Oh this brings back so many memories. I found a BB King tape in my grandma's truck one day, I popped it in the stereo and I listened to it for hours on end driving around the old backroads of North Carolina. I miss her and those simpler times.
2020 like I was listening to this with my brother hitting to middle school now I just finished the last semester of engineering college and it’s still one of my favorite songs♥️ .
BB & Lucille's presentation is so unique. It's like you can cry, laugh, and get goosebumps all in the same song. I was blessed to see the king live 3 times. His intro was magical. The second he started across the stage everyone leaped to their feet with a sort of applause that we knew that we were about to experience something special. It still gives shivers. B was a gift from god. What a wonderful person.
Since the first time I heard this, I've always used this song to make a point about distrustful people and situations 😂😂😂 he told an entire story! Yessir!
Incredible. Possibly the best blues soloing I've heard and I've heard and played a lot. Over time the more you listen and the more you understand blues, the more you appreciate BB. Such a mix of subtlety, rhythmic and tonal nuance and power. Like Sinatra he is a master of phrasing. And could he sing or what?
I saw him live at a wine mt. festival concert up in the Los Altos mts. somewhere, not hot or cold that day he was as good, some others too Mazzy...we were all drinking wine...smiling
Do you think he could play if he had to keep his face still? He can do whatever he wants as long as he keeps making some of the sweetest guitar sounds ever, but I just wonder.
I picked up B.B. King Gold from my local library and instantly loved the guitar and his voice, however I thought his lyrics came off mysoginist... a day later and the girl of my dreams tells me there is someone else and B.B.'s songs couldn't resonate any louder.
Love that comment on pokeman! But what I don't comprehend, is why the hell would anyone give BB any Thumbs down! I saw that up there and thought to myself. What effin idiots!
MR KING you are and forever WILL be THE BEST BLUES MAN GOD EVER BLESSED THE GREAT US OF A WITH~ YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BUT YOU'RE MUSIC WILL NEVER LEAVE. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Indianola, Heathman Plantation blues. You said you would be famous some day back then, and you did it. One of the greatest blues men. R.I.P. Mr. BB King.
Nice tone and really inspired soloing. BB king has one of the most tasteful and clean sounds out there. People will probably enjoy his warm music still in two hundred years!
Once you've seen him perform this 'live', there's no comparison. Over my life I was fortunate to see BB perform live more times than I can count. This is a pale version of how he sings Nobody Love Me But My Mother, when he's engaged with an audience digging on his every word!
BB King song has an astouding power to reframe the anguished mind. It is impossable for me to be distressed when listening to this, I just laugh out loud at my self. He has given us a great gift.
12/18/21: Can't relate to these lyrics since the relationship between my late mother and I was one of necessity. In the words from my favorite sitcom; "we were from when we stayed together because we had NO CHOICE!!" I miss Mommy HUGELY. . .but, we were hardly amicable.

When BB King plays, the only thing you can do is keep silent and enjoy all the magic of the blues.
Shh
Yes man, the Blues is a sound to listen in silence.
Watch his hands. Pure art. 😎
We all love you B.B.
And we're not jivin.
Rest easy and thank you.

I have driven over 3 million miles listening to BB all night long. Love you BB R.I.P
He's not playing this - he's feeling it ! At no point does he even look what he's doing ! Astonishing skill !!!!
ABSOLUTELY!! Mesmerising
He's singing it! Through Lucille! She's his other singing voice.

What a great example of the big man's playing and singing. You'll be missed, King of the Blues.

"Nobody loves me but my mother. And she could be jivin' too." I just doesn't get any more "blues" than that.
One of my favorite 48 yr old from Arkansas
Amen 🙏
Too damned right Tracy👌👌👌👌👌
Except for perhaps The thrill is gone. One of the loneliest blues tracks I can think of(the original 1969 version that is).
This African music feeling the heinous brunt of colonialism!
THE KING OF BLUES WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD. REST UP MR. BB KING. YOUR MUSIC WILL FOREVER LIVE ON!!

I love my mother she is turning 90. She loves me back
This song is so true.If you find a woman that loves you like that, you are very blessed
I never realized how right BB was with his song until I lost my Mom...
B B King est bien le roi du BLUES. J’ai 67 ans et je l’écoute depuis l’age de 10 ans avec toujours autant de passion
BB and Lucille. Make beautiful music!
Exactly why he's the king of the blues. I've gotten pretty much the majority of my licks from this video alone
Good Choice man

There’s something warm and reassuring when B.B. plays and sings, like we’re all in all this together and, as hard as it gets, it’s still damn good
He sure could feel the music! Because of that, I love watching him play more than I like listening to a record
