Potentially easier setup: - Enter with cape+reserve flower - Drop fireflower and cape spin next to Yoshi block while collecting it to spawn 9 Yoshis (make sure one other sprite is on screen while doing this) - Go to the end and grab the key - Bring the key back to the Yoshi block and dupe the turn blocks - Eat key and drop real Yoshi in lava, spit out the null sprite from the next real Yoshi's mouth (real Yoshi is now non-persistent) - Dismount Yoshi (slot 3 Yoshi falls off level and despawns) - Remount Yoshi and bring him near goal tape above the level - Go grab a shell (make sure nothing persistent filled slot 3) - Go back to Yoshi and screen scroll right without loading the tape yet - Set the shell where Yoshi's tongue can touch it off screen - Face left, tongue the shell and dismount and run to the right - Goal tape should replace the shell, and then Yoshi should despawn off screen before swallowing it - Go under and trigger it idk if this would work well or even be easier, but just a theory
Around 5:45, I item swap the goal tape onto yoshi's tongue so that it spawns above the level instead of its usual position, and take damage so yoshi drops it instead of swallowing. Because being above the top of the level is considered the same as being below the bottom of the level, the game lets me trigger the tape above the level at 6:30. The goal tape being above the top of the level then triggers a glitch where you move a different direction on the overworld than usual. Star Roads act like level tiles when unrevealed, so I am able to enter an unused level. You may want to also check out this video, which gets an exit using similar principles but without any of the action being offscreen. As always, make sure annotations are turned on. ua-cam.com/video/QPht8Hx4Gj0/v-deo.html

UA-cam, frustratingly, just deleted ALL annotations off youtube. I kept a backup of their contents, but haven't converted them to captions yet...

@@MrCheeze Hypothesis: You can use the same glitch on Valley of Bowser 3 to enter the unused switch palace.
