Yes, definitely interested in more episodes like this one. Also, stripping the candlesticks sounds like great first option. If you find they are just beyond repair, then you could try painting. Can't hurt to try to restore them, since you would have a good backup plan.
Agree with everything Crystal said. For me it doesn't matter where you shop you've taught me so much about the quality pottery, art, furniture and textiles. Thank you😊
I came to the comments to say this exact same thing! Try to restore, and if they’re too far gone, then definitely paint them to fit in with your Scandinavian Christmas decor! My sister’s house always has the best Norwegian and Swedish Christmas decorations, especially trolls galore! It’s so much fun!
That rocking piece from the desk set is an ink blotter. It was rolled over written pieces to blot excess ink. It's use was pretty much discontinued with the invention of the ball point pen. So many amazing finds! I always loved going through antique shops and malls, even as a kid, just to admire things from the past. If they are beautifully curated all the better! I love a mix of both your thrifting videos as well as these antiquing ones.
Yes, and you'd have a piece of blotting paper attached to it (somehow using the slots under it) and replace as needed. Purely decorative now, unless you like using a quill for some special notes or missives✒️.
Just discovered your channel and I love it! Funny thing is, I saw a girl on the subway last week wearing a NYC Demerier midi skirt and I totally fell in love with her. I want to buy a *hotdups* . It will be my little birthday gift. Thanks for your channel. I think I will like it more in the future.
Strip the white candle holders! I got a painted one recently and the grain underneath was fabulous! And yes. thrift, antique, vintage, I like all your vidéos.. two in a week is a real treat! 😊
While I enjoy the vintage shopping videos, I LOVE the thrifting videos because they embody the thrill of the hunt. Your content is the best out there. Thank you, Laura and Jesse. Keep them coming.
I wish all the antique malls did the displaying the way this owner does instead of each vendor having their own little booth. I’m sure their sales would double. The buyers would appreciate how every piece can be display in our own homes and how everything comes together. GREAT IDEA! . Thank you for sharing this video. As always… I love it! 😊
You hit the nail. I wonder if she's thinking of coming up with her own line of wall papers etc. That was my first thought when she said it would take a year or two.
Hi Laura, my family and I were visiting Portland in the early August and we were hoping to run into you and Jesse while we were thrifting at Goodwill, the Wheeler Station and the Curiosities Vintage Mall. My husband, my 10 yr old son and I, we all got some amazing souvenirs from our thrifting experience. My son is your big fan. We are learning so much from watching your videos. Thank you for everything! 😊
I love this kind of shopping too Laura! I think you should strip one to see if it is teak. Painting red for your scandi Christmas is also a great idea. Blue also!
I haven't watched this video yet. My mother and I love your vids, we watch them together. Often when we're thrifting we go 'Laura would like that.' 'Laura would buy that.'. Yesterday we went thrifting and got a really good haul. We came home to a family tragedy and our world was turned upside down. We're grieving and hurting but being able to watch your vid yesterday was 31 minutes and 9 seconds of normalcy and calm in a horrible day. I'm so so grateful you've posted again today so I can go and put this vid up on her tv and have another little slice of escape today. Thank you.
Thinking of you today in Northern California and sending comfort and warm hugs your way. I’m so sorry you and your mom are going thru a difficult time. 😢❤️☮️
The way things were displayed in the first shop makes so much sense. My sister is a vendor in a similar type of shop in N.C.where a lot of the vendors intermix their merchandise because it better compliments it.I see why you liked it so much! Almost looks like you stylized it! ❤
My gosh that first shop... I'll just take everything! 😅 I'd strip the Dansk candlesticks, should be easy enough (just looks like cheap acrylic paint) and they'll glow for it. I love that you have such passion for this; your life is such goals to me. Having such rich pickings to be full-time, a husband who's also interested, and girlies to go source with?? Ah what dreams are made of...
Laura, I think I would watch just about anything that you post. Love your style, your attitude, your outlook, and your kind, thoughtful heart. Keep producing, and I will keep watching!! Thank you for all you do. ❤
Laura, it wouldn’t matter to me what kind of video you would do, I would watch them all. You are so amazing and have such an eye. You are incredibly talented.
I came here to say this exact idea! If the wood isn’t anything great I think that style and shape would look so good in red along with all her Scandinavian candlesticks! ❤️
I’d say strip the candlesticks, and the rocking thingy from the desk set is to fix blotting paper to, to rock over wet ink from an ink pen or quill before you fold the paper and pop it into the envelope 🥰
I just love your videos either kind - I am hooked So much so that hubby and are planning a road trip to Oregon I will need to look thru all of your videos for the names of your thrift and antique stores Coming from San Diego Wish us luck
Gumby's horse name is Pokey. I have a miniature one(2"X2") I'd love to find one bigger than the original toy, like the one you showed . I'm always willing to watch any kind of shopping you do especially when Jesse go along with you, the two of you are so in tune, it's a very pleasant 20 to 30 min in your company. Salut du Québec⚜
Laura & Jesse, you made my Saturday night rock with a fun walk down memory lane. I didn't think it could get any better than my favorite Finel bowl gracing one of your amazing videos, but then Garfield showed up. Who knew my childhood bedroom circa 1984 had been transported from CT to an amazing antique/vintage mall in Oregon. The only thing missing is the ugly mauve wall to wall carpet that still haunts my dreams. The items you featured in this video are amazing. The book about the Louvre is beautiful. Antique & vintage shops are magical places. I would love to see more videos like this.
I love the pitcher with the trees. That store was amazing! The decanter is gorgeous, too. I really enjoyed this episode. Great stuff! I agree - time is money. Now that I'm not reselling, I'd rather go to vintage shops.
ADORE THE UKRAINIAN CANDLE HOLDER! Much like our Latvijan ones…often given as wedding gifts. Birch trees plate is gorgeous with those as there are many birch trees in that part of the world, too. I think you and Jesse have an innate sense of style. His choice on the pseudo Safari chairs is spot on! You both enjoyed a lovely “colourful” landscape painting which would certainly look fantastic with them…maybe your basement room should have a cool colourways change to include them?
You're spoiling us Laura! Two videos in two days! 🤗🤗And the vintage stores you shared are fabulous. The pottery at Tiny Brambles is AMAZING!!!Also love that you support other resellers in your vlog like Andi from All put together. Oh, I'm for stripping the candleholders to check what's beneath the paint. You can always paint after.
Yes please, more of these episodes too! I always smile when I hear the Penguin Ice Bucket music, sure wish I could find one, must have been a west coast thing. 🇨🇦👏
Omg that Helrich painting--I saw that for sale at the RC Vintage Market back in July and was SO TEMPTED BY IT--it was one of the most memorable art pieces I came across in my jaunts away from my booth. STUNNING.
Such great finds Laura and I so appreciate encouraging your views to head to the curated vintage shops for a totally different way to shop than the thrift stores! Thank you for supporting your fellow resellers! ❤
I found your channel a few days ago and I am obsessed with it! You have the most beautiful vibes. I feel drawn towards your content. Looking at this things through your eyes, have opened a completely different perspective. I am minimalistic but if I am to have things, I want them to be special. Thank you and your husband for being so awesome! ❤❤❤
Oh, my Laura and Jesse, this was such a wonderful video. Love this content mixed with your usual thrifting content. That beautiful book 😍 Some really amazing finds. Fantastic camera work, too. You're the very best at this! Thank you ❤
yes to more antique store episodes! In my area there are few thrift store options so I have started visiting antique stores and have been pleasantly surprised at what can be found for reasonable prices. This episode had so many beautiful things to look at. Thank you!
The mystery desk set object is for putting in blotting paper. I grew up with one of those things sitting on the desk even when my parents had long since started using ball pens. My mother sold it when she needed space for a computer…
Hi Laura!! Yes !! I’m so interested in more of these episodes! I love all your content so much! I am loving all the cool stuff you got! Beautiful!!❤ I say strip the candle holders! It would be awesome to see what is underneath!
Lived in Salem in mid 80’s and we would go to the Saturday Market in Portland and buy pottery that they had recently made. We would go to shops all over Portland. Best time ever!
Yes, love the antique store videos along with the other thrifting! I would paint the candlesticks a blue (like the book) and then distress them or a solid burgundy. Love all your videos.
I love this type of content! I live in a very densely populated area. Our thrift stores will never have what you are able to find and though I love those videos I really like seeing the things at antique stores because I know that this is something I can do. The cubist landscape: the reason the colors look so well together is that they are complimentary colors, opposites on the color wheel. ( I'm calling the grey a blue-grey.)
If I could talk, the third item in that desk set was a blotter. When people would dip their pen in the ink and write with it. It would stay damp so that would go onto the page and rub back-and-forth to block to the ink and help it dry and keep from smearing.

Gorgeous door. Loved the artpiece in the first shop. And those chairs Love the phone! I would use it (as a catlover) so fun Thank you so much for sharing

The rocking blotter could be used as a brayer when gluing paper to remove air bubbles
Good idea.
Yes please, more videos like this! Stripping the candlesticks to their natural state will make them more valuable.

Hi Andi! Loved seeing your booths in today's video.
It always cracks me up when you zoom in on the penguin ice buckets!
Strip the white candle holders! I got a painted one recently and the grain underneath was fabulous! And yes. thrift, antique, vintage, I like all your vidéos.. two in a week is a real treat! 😊
With wallpaper back in style, the back of that book would make a beautiful wallpaper.
While I enjoy the vintage shopping videos, I LOVE the thrifting videos because they embody the thrill of the hunt. Your content is the best out there. Thank you, Laura and Jesse. Keep them coming.
that brass piece with the desk set was a rocker ink blotter. loved the first ceramic lamp base in the video - gorgeous 1:26
Was just coming there to type that! Ink blotter!
I love thrifting with you guys!! I can shop vicariously and not spend a dime. 😆
I wish all the antique malls did the displaying the way this owner does instead of each vendor having their own little booth. I’m sure their sales would double. Blaine's store-what a gorgeous shop
I love both styles. I love when you and Jesse shop together. You two just play off each other.
Okay, I just want EVERYTHING in Tiny Brambles!!! What a fantastic store!
Great video, Laura and Jesse!
Me too I would go crazy
That book cover back design would make an awesome wallpaper.

The thrifting videos are my favorite but definitely enjoyed seeing the beautiful items you found at the antique stores and sharing how to style them.

Yes.. they put a piece of felt/paper on it and blot the fountain pen ink.. ta -da!
