We got up at 4:45 am to catch our plane Friday morning, and there was no electricity in the hotel!!! We had to get ready using the flashlights on our phones. We also were caught in a huge traffic jam on the way to the airport, so I was very stressed by the time we checked in. (I think this is why I forgot that I meant to carry on the suitcase with the breakables.)
@@CanterburyCottage I totally understand that kind of stress. Please don’t beat yourself. --->>>>🤔I think you can do a mosaic with the pieces like in: One True Thing- love that movie!
Sherry, it is so fun watching you discover treasures and then see what you bring home. You had a lot of stress with this trip and so sorry you had broken items. Hugs to you. Happy ending on watching how you display the rest of them in your home. ❤
You might consider using the Japanese art called Kintsugi to repair your broken teapot--it involves highlighting in gold all the seams where the item is put back together/ The result can be quite beautiful. Might be a way to salvage the teapot, and would certainly make for a conversation piece!
Can you piece it back together with the Japanese method of gold veining (which show the repairs in gold glue). It may be a way to salvage that beautiful teapot.
Please don't be. I too was so heartbroken when I saw the broken teapot. I would have snatched that teapot to add to my blue and white kitchen. It is definitely worth restoring.
56 years ago my husband and I and our two kiddos cut down a fresh Christmas tree, we did find a birds nest in the branches. Every year since that little nest has been in our tree and I love it 🪺😊
The mystery item at 8 min. is a pipe holder. It holds three pipes, and it looks homemade. I use my grandpa's glass pipe holder on my dresser to hold earrings.
I believe your small bird cage was once a home for the canaries that were used in the coal mines. The miners would carry them down into the mines to detect dangerous gases.

This has been the most enjoyable way to tag along with you at the famous Brimfield Flea Market! It was full of pops of excitement, and I just loved it when you showed us a short cameo of how you had placed some of the items. I'm looking forward to seeing more. The idea of the diorama in the clock is wonderful -- I'd love to see if you do that, and how you make it magic! ❤
Sherry, loved your trip to Brimfield!.. I grew up in MA and for my last 10 years there, I lived in Hardwick MA which is about 30 minutes from Brimfield and I loved going, especially the one in September... now that I am retired to NC, many of my special curiosities in my home came from those trips... thanks for the memory...
Oh Sherry, I can just hear the excitement in your voice indicating that you had a great time. I knew you would. You bought some beautiful things and the ways you have displayed them is awesome. I grew up in Hartford and The Mark Twain House was always a favorite. It was always a popular school field trip. I have visited Brimfield a couple of times many years ago. Having moved south a long time ago, I envied your trip to Brimfield. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your new chandelier hanging.😊
Oh, thank you, Pat! I had a wonderful time! I was so impressed with the Mark Twain house-all the stenciling on the ceilings, the mostly modern bathrooms, and the atrium with a working water fountain! ❤️ (We weren’t allowed to take pictures, but I did sneak the one of the bird diorama.)
Oh wow, I have been there many years ago on a car trip to Maine with my two young children! Looking back I would have loved to visit the antique center! And since we were driving , we could have loaded up, the van 😂
What awesome items you purchased, sad about the tea pot, could you glue it like the Japanese do filling the cracks with gold ,there is a name for it but can’t remember. The Japanese word means thing like ‘Loved Item’ I did it on a vase that was my dads and it looked good. The Japanese hate waste and like to repurpose.Love the light switch plates and the large clock, you should take the face off or leave it bent back and make a diorama . what a wonderful flea market, thanks for sharing.
Oh my. I loved spending my money watching this. Haha. You bought so many wonderful things. Birds and clocks, my oh my. My Uncle used to sell his hand-crafted furniture and antiques at this venue. He always had a wonderful time. I had to laugh when you showed the Fart Game and your comment was so true. Anxiously awaiting the styling. Love your creativity.
How fun, I wish I could have gone with you. My heart hurt when you found that beautiful teapot broken! I so enjoy your videos, they are a reason to look forward to Mondays.
12:48 I'd say this is a definite candidate for a Kintsugi repair. If you don't want to attempt it yourself, perhaps there is someone living near you who knows how to do it. Being a Spode item, I think it's definitely worth the investment. 😁😍
I was wild about flea market flip and watched it every chance I got Brimstone Market. You found a lot of great things that look beautiful in your home. Those tiny oval pictures with cottages and glass bubble over them were my favorite
I hope you kept the broken Spode teapot. I have a friend who makes mosaic things with broken china pieces. She also makes jewellery out of them too. You could give that a try & it wouldn’t be a total bust if you can make something out of it.
Oh Sherry, my heart broke for you and the teapot. I think the stress prior to getting to the airport did play a part in checking that bag. But your other finds are amazing!
What a fun and fabulous video!! It was like we were right there with you shopping for treasures! I loved seeing what you saw and what you brought home with you. I absolutely loved that blue and white teapot!! My kitchen is blue, white and yellow and I would have snatched that up too!! So sad that it got broken 😞. Maybe you can find a jar that the teapot lid fits on and use the broken pieces of teapot to make a mosaic on the jar. It would be a one of a kind and still be a treasure from your adventure to Brimfield 💙. Thank you for showing us how you used your finds in your home- loved seeing how you styled them. Your creativity continues to amaze me Sherry!! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful adventure with us! You inspire me so much in every video!! Love, love, love you and your channel!! ❤❤❤

I to, am a abe lincoln collector. I've been collecting for 50 years. The first thing was a newspaper article when I was 9. My husband and lincoln share a birthday.
I really liked the tiny grandfather clocks....that sounds so cool for the clock to be a diorama...the lighter is very pretty...the towel rack is very nice...the bird cage is definitely adorable...😊 love the cubby...the cast iron bird is all about you just like your clocks... the canisters are exquisite....I didn't know they were skuttles...thank you...awe surprise I love squirrels so glad you have him...the clock is gorgeous...the bookends is nice...the frame and apples are nice...the rug is magnificent...😊
Can't wait to see everything...😊 I love the spode tea pot was gorgeous..the plate is beautiful too...I'm glad the bird is safe...awe the nest was well made by the birds 🐦 😊 the metal piece is quite unique...Abe Lincoln is cool for your collection...the horse is very nice...the frames are nice...great idea for the matches...it's a beautiful piece
Wow, you got some amazing finds. So heartbreaking about the broken items. My favorite of your finds was the miniature grandfather clock that the pocket watch fit inside. What a great time you had!
Thank you! I did have a wonderful time. I only had the clock face from a pocket watch, so now I need to find a pocket watch for the clock. All those little clocks were adorable. I had a hard time deciding on just one.
I live 3 hours from you (Springfield, IL) and at first I thought that HUGE flea market was in Brimfield IL 😂 I was happy to have the IL connection be strong enough that when you saw the white squirrel, I immediately thought of your beautiful town and then you popped it on the screen 😂 What beautiful things you saw (and purchased)! Edit: That $20 teapot was an incredible bargain! It broke my heart that it didn’t make it😢 Edit 2: the box with the brass hinges (at 29:03) might possibly be a candy box, I have a larger one that my mama passed down to me along with its backstory that a boy who had a crush on her (she was only 13) brought to her hospital room when she got her appendix removed! She was mortified but kept the box. That was in 1948!
Oh my goodness, I love all the items that you selected. My heart broke when you pulled out the broken teapot. That was so beautiful but everything else turned out. So cool. I know you're going to make some very interesting items with some of these😊
I do mosaics with broken dishes/pottery. If I were you, I'd use the pieces from the broken teapot and that broken plate in a mosaic. You could maybe incorporate the teapot lid too. It is a great way to use broken things with sentimental value or great beauty! The cloche with the taxidermy birds reminded me of a bar my parents used to go to in northern Wisconsin. The bar owner was a taxidermist and the bar was filled with his work. He had a big glass cabinet filled with tiny birds on branches. I found it so fascinating as a child. I didn't appreciate the large snarling gray wolf that was around a corner on the way to the ladies' restroom though!
I've wanted to go to Brimfield for so long and I live closer than you do! You've got me planning it in the next two years. I love your finds, shed a year for the broken tea pot, and was inspired to redecorate the shelves and mantel in the living room and the mantel in the dining room! Thank you for sharing your trip! It was fun to "tag along".
Oh Sherrie, keep the old clock with the columns as a clock with its face. I had one that I was supposed to get when my mother passed last month but it has disappeared like so many other things of my parents’ memories have done. I cried when you said you might make a diorama. I know your work and it would be beautiful, but even not working, that clock is gorgeous. I love your channel!
I am with you and your love for clocks and birds. When I see the second big clock I think you should take the face off the other one and diy it Beautiful haul. Live your ideas
Some beautiful things!!! I am glad you had such a marvelous time.....although how could you not? Sorry about your blue and white kettle.....I think I would have cried right there on camera! You did well, and you do well to remember that they really are just things......they might make us happy, but they are temporary. I love your mind and how it works with different objects....and I now have such a soft spot for anything birds!!!
I was so excited to see the treasures you brought home. I found some great free things on side of the road today, a nice fella stopped and helped me load it, like a kid in a candy store.
Sherry, I enjoyed going along with you at that wonderful market! And you picked up some beautiful and interesting pieces! I’m so sorry your lovely teapot got broken… such a shame! Great video!!! ❤
Thanks for sharing your haul! I too was disheartened when you found the teapot broken but I believe you will be creating beautiful things even with the broken bits. I like your idea of removing the clock face and creating a scene inside the clock body and being able to view it through a glass door. So glad you had a great time and the weather seemed nice.
Hi Sherri isn’t Brimfield a blast! Did three days from 8-4 usually go to the May or Sept show. You got some great things, we bought a stained glass window this year also.
Sherry I’m so sorry the tea pot and a few other things got broken 😢thank goodness you were able to find a lot of beautiful and unique pieces thanks for taking us along for the journey ❤
That was a fun unpacking! Definitely pop off the broken clock face & try a Christmas diorama!! It will be amazing. When I saw the teapot I went Nooooooooooo (scared my husband 🤭) Hope you had a wonderful time! Thanks for bringing us along
Keep collecting and you will make your very own, special diorama. Excited to see what you make from all the inspiration you collected too! What fun! Thanks for sharing your trip and your styling. Love Mondays! Can hardly wait to see what you have made or collected.🥰
The Spode teapot or nearly the same one is on eBay. Treat yourself. You work so hard saving money and creating a fabulous channel, treat yourself. Or have your kids or husband get it for you for your birthday or a holiday. You totally deserve it. 😊
What a fun trip but mourning the broken blue & white tea kettle. Next time you go, I'll drive down and pack up all your finds so that they will make it home intact. Packing for travel is my super power! 😊
I think that clock with the clock face would make a great diorama but it would also be a great place to hide valuables! Those small domed glass pictures would be lovely in larger frames mounted on maroon or black velvet! I'm so glad you got to go to Brimfield; I envy you! I loved seeing Brimfield; years ago we went to several dollhouse shows in Sturbridge and the Museum as well as a few antique stores in Brimfield; it was a marvelous time!
Pop that clock face off…and create an enchanting diorama scene !! I love Brimfield. I’ve been twice and was totally overwhelmed. You did an excellent hunt and gather job Sherry. I love everything you have bought and shown so far.
Oh what a wonderful haul. You got some super nice pieces but my heart broke when I saw what broke. That was my favorite piece you bought. I know you had a blast. 😊❤

I cried when you said you might make a diorama. I know your work and it would be beautiful, but even not working, that clock is gorgeous. I love your channel!
I am with you and your love for clocks and birds.
When I see the second big clock I think you should take the face off the other one and diy it
Beautiful haul. Live your ideas
My favorite moment of this video, 'It's the white squirrel!' - big smile
I get excited about the goofiest things!🐿️🤍
@@CanterburyCottage *That white squirrel is a treasure!*
Me too - I was happy when she brought out the squirrel!! 😉❣️
First time I enjoyed hearing you talk. When you sit at home and say your introduction, it makes me feel like a student in a hard to learn class.
❤❤❤
Thank you for taking us on your adventure! So much fun. Looking forward to any DIY’s.
Thank you, Lanet! I think I am going to use the clock to create Christmas decor.
Great haul, Sherry!!!! I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the old wood clock with the hole!
Omg those glass chandeliers ❤
I can’t wait for mine to arrive in the mail!
@@CanterburyCottage I bet!
I was so excited to see the treasures you brought home. I found some great free things on side of the road today, a nice fella stopped and helped me load it, like a kid in a candy store.
Yes, make a dyaroma, and if the miniature clock fits inside, use it in there.
Oh, that is an interesting idea!😊
The baby bed could make a great outside couch, too, if you get a bottom and cover a mattress that fits.
Sherry, I enjoyed going along with you at that wonderful market! And you picked up some beautiful and interesting pieces! I’m so sorry your lovely teapot got broken… such a shame! Great video!!! ❤
I love how you show us the treasures you find and explain why you like them. So sorry your large tea pot got broken! I would save it anyway!
What a fun trip. So many lovely items you found ❤️ All the clocks! Oh, you have a Robin's nest 🪹😊
I was fascinated by the bird diarama. They were so colorful! Creeped me out, but still they were beautiful
It looks like you had a wonderful trip. Loved all the bits you bought.
Keep collecting and you will make your very own, special diorama. Excited to see what you make from all the inspiration you collected too! What fun! Thanks for sharing your trip and your styling. Love Mondays! Can hardly wait to see what you have made or collected.🥰
Great finds Sherry so happy to see Zoe what a cutie 💓
The Spode teapot or nearly the same one is on eBay. Treat yourself. You work so hard saving money and creating a fabulous channel, treat yourself. Or have your kids or husband get it for you for your birthday or a holiday. You totally deserve it. 😊
Such good finds. I'm really enjoying your videos especially seeing how you use the items in your home.
What a fun trip but mourning the broken blue & white tea kettle. Next time you go, I'll drive down and pack up all your finds so that they will make it home intact. Packing for travel is my super power! 😊
I'm a purist, keep the clock in tact , some nice finds, haven't been to Brimfield in years, makes me want to manage the traffic & go back
I think that clock with the clock face would make a great diorama but it would also be a great place to hide valuables!
Loved your now "broken" teapot....knowing how you DIY, I'm confident that you will find a new treasure out of it! ~ Blessings my friend 😊
Oh what a wonderful haul. You got some super nice pieces but my heart broke when I saw what broke. That was my favorite piece you bought. I know you had a blast. 😊❤
You purchased so many lovely things, but I have to say, I especially loved the small Italian box (color & pattern). 😍
Oh Sherry you got some wonderful treasures! Can’t wait to see what all you style around your home. Fun video! Thanks for taking us along!
❤️💜💚
A charming video today. I enjoyed watching the internal excitement personified. Glad the trip was so enjoyable. Love and sunshine from Australia.
I was eating pizza watching this and I practically choked when you pointed out the game 😂
I love the idea of the diorama with the old clock! As long as there is no significant value to keep as is. Cheers!
Sherry you were in my neck of the woods!! Massachusetts has always been my home and I’m only about 45 minutes from Brimfield. Isn’t it incredible?!!! It’s like Disney in that you can NOT see it all in one day❤️
It was amazing! Two days was all we could do-so much walking!
I’m 45 minutes away too. We camp at Pine Lake all the time. Sturbridge Village is one my favorite places! 7:55
If you come back, you could set up a tour and have people pay to spend the day together.
