I know a lot of people are scared of credit cards, but I personally think everyone should have one because it's a super useful money tool! I got my first credit card almost two years ago and I think I've learned enough to make a video explaining how it works 💳
Hopefully this video levels up your finance brain powers and helps you guys understand credit cards better! I'll make more credit card videos pa so feel free to comment other questions you have 😄✨🍞

Hi Nicole, I just want to ask that which one is better to use BPI or PNB and on credit or debit. Since BPI and PNB are the only option for my salary to be received. This money will only be used to pay for my tuition. How much money should I spend, like I shouldn't spend everything that this card have for my tuition right? Is there a percentage limitation to spend? Does my question make sense lol

I got a pre-approved cc from BDO with a six digit limit last year. I was 21 then and still a student (til now). Bc of that, I learned how to use it responsibly. It actually made my finance system more organized and I became more disciplined, contrary to the preconceived notions. I always pay in full before the due date. Good thing also, I got the No Annual Fee For Life 💖 Kaya wag matakot sa cc, you can use it to your advantage!

BDO just sent me one without my consent lol 🤣 But as a background, I usually have a consistent cashflow, around 12k per week (got it from SEO freelance work). I don't store my money sa BDO savings acc kasi ang baba ng interest hahaha pero maybe my cash flow was their basis kung bakit pinadalhan ako ng cc.

When I resigned from my previous work where we used BPI for payroll, I continued using my BPI debit card as a savings account. Around 2 years later, BPI offered me BPI Gold because of my stable and continuous transactions in my payroll/savings account. And that is me not owning any credit card before even a secured credit card.

Great intro to cc video! I really hope that more Filipinos get knowledge on personal finance so that the stigma against credit cards would stop. Credit cards aren’t bad, only people are bad :) if the user isn’t responsible, then you’ll really get into debt. I have been using credit cards for a few years now, I have never paid for any fees and always got my annual fees waived. I even have a few credit cards that are tagged as “no annual fee for life” and have some points saved up for free roundtrip flights once more countries open up for travel. Looking forward to more credit card videos cos I’m always eager to learn. Thanks, Nicole.

May minimum spend ba sa credit card like kailangan mo sya gamitin every month at certain amount or pwede syang matiwangwang lang and walang mangyayari? How do you not pay for the annual fee? Credit card sounds so scary para sakin HAHAHAHAHAHA

    • @NicoleAlbaYT
      @NicoleAlbaYT  2 роки тому +5

Ang daming questions HAHA but that’s good!! Yes so madaming ways pwede bayaran ang cc bill. You can pay via bills payment tab sa bank app, sa physical branch ng bank, bayad centers, meron din sa GCash and other e-wallets. May bills payment for certain CC's din sa Shopee and Lazada!
As for credit history meron tayong institutions like CIC at Transunion na nag-aassess ng credit records natin.
Walang minimum required spend kahit hindi mo gamitin ang cc it’s fine. You won't get charged if you don't use ur CC haha, pero may annual fee pa rin per year.
For waiving of the annual fee, sa mga lenient na banks u can call them ask to waive and they usually give u a minimum spend requirement na kailangan mong gawin. Tulad ng BDO Visa CC ko, pinaspend ako ng 3-5k yata within 1 month tapos ni-reverse nila yung annual fee.
I’ll talk about this in my future videos! No need to get scared sa CC haha simple lang siya actually 😄✨💳

13:11 begged to disagree I’ve been loyal customer of BPI and been rejected several times and worst part
I’ve lost cash on my savings account and the bank seems like don’t like to pay for it or reimburse for it
And I got my credit card with my 3rd (traditional/ physical) bank with UB after just a week or so applying my debit card with them
    I got approved

I would say I don’t know how I find you on UA-cam, but I know better. My husband and I have been in prayer so that we get our credit scores up and our credit record in great shape so that we can purchase our forever home. It was no one but God that led me to *Web backdoors🕳️org* . I thank God for this wisdom. Bless you.

Sobrang takot ako umutang or magka credit card. But my bank sent me one, siguro dahil na-detect nila na laging may laman or hindi nababawasan yung payroll account ko, it's up to me daw if I'll activate it and it's free annual membership for my first year of having it. Super takot ako but your video took away my fright. Thank you.

This is my first time to apply for a credit card. The agent offered me a Citi simplicity card. But since you mentioned about the rewards card (2nd tier), I would like to request for an upgrade. The application is still ongoing. How can I request to waive annual fees? Thanks!

i guess I'll stick to my CDC card. and you don't have to top up with crypto. you can just buy the currency of your card. i mean top up the fiat currency to your card. in my case it's SGD. thanks for the information.
