I was really excited to receive this card, so I wanted to share my reasons for getting my first credit card! This video officially marks the start of credit card videos on this channel 🌟💳 Haha share your thoughts about credit cards down below! Hopefully you guys pick up something new from this week's video 😁 Links to apply to Citibank credit cards are in the description 😉
I was scared of having a credit card but then I called from the bank saying I was pre-approved for this type of card with this much limit and I was like "yeah boii I'm rich! ha ha", then reality sunk in that I could only spend what I have. Anyways, having a card is awesome, no hassle payments and the points accumulated is fun to watch. Thinking of applying for other cards but not yet solid tho. As always, great video. Very interesting to watch 👍🏻
I'm 32 years old yet still learning from a 20 year old lady here. I've honestly invested my hard earned 100,000 pesos to CIMB due to its 4% interest per annum and that's all because of you. I'm really inspired by you. Keep it up! 👍❤️
Putting that small amount on a bank account for interest really does not do anything significant. Try the stock market. Bought shares with Jolibee last year when the market was down and have earned a lot on it already. Stocks does carry a lot more risks but also more reward.
I had my first credit card at the age of 23 with less than 20k credit limit. It was very difficult to apply for one back then. But discipline is really key to building good credit. Now, I have at least 6 digits credit limit. Thank you, Nicole, for teaching the young (and even the old) about managing their finance. I hope you share your strategy in building up an emergency fund on your upcoming videos
I also applied for a secured credit card in my bank (BPI) and it only took them almost 2 weeks to process my application. It was quite fast considering pandemic-related delays and now I'm just waiting for it to be delivered. Anyway, a very big congratulations, Nicole! You became an integral part of my financial journey. I've learned a lot of lessons from you and I thank you very much for that!
This is the kind of social media influencer that should be hitting millions of subss. You are inspiration to the younger generations. I'm seeing a brighter future for the young ones following you. Keep up the good work!

Here in Canada, you can get as many credit cards as you want. You gotta have it here coz building a high credit score really matters in every aspect of your life. It will determine the bank and or workplaces of how responsible you are when managing your credits. I currently have 2 that I actively use, while the 4 others I chose not to use. After all, it’s all about discipline and it’s really useful though especially for auto-payments like phone bills, netflix, internet and tv bills.
Thank you for the video! Now I can apply for a credit card (I'm still a student) for me to be able to buy a plane ticket using my card and not borrowing someone else's. God Bless!
You really inspired me to track my expenses. Dahil sa video mo about how you manage your finances, I was able to stop spending unnecessary things, and I was anle to save more for investing in myself ❤️

Great vid. I'm 25 years old but I am only starting to apply for credit cards now. I avoided credit cards because I was taught that they are bad. This may not be a credit card 101 video but I learned a lot from it. I am looking forward to a video explaining credit cards more in-depth from Nicole. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
We also have this in PNB. PNB hold out credit card with 10,000 minimum hold out deposit. Branch na magpapa notarize at magbabayad ng fee. Kaya less hassle fill up lang talaga ng form and 2 valid ID's lang requirement.
BDO do have a lot of affiliated stores that’s why I will choose this over any credit cards I have, also the transactions is seamless with bdo credit card, As for BPI don’t have it but I’ve seen transactions being declined for some reason(not over limit) Ayusin Lang ni bdo ung app Nila and I’ll give them 9/10 oh speaking of app, Banks like citi bank and union bank have great app, you can track card transactions real-time (credit and debit) which will help you check your spendings, using credit card can be a disadvantage very quick if you can’t see your transactions.
Haha I agree with what you mentioned about the BDO app hahaml mabagal and buggy siya at times, but besides that satisfied client naman ako. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for this assuring video. I've been wanting to get a credit card but unsure how to start and fearful of how to really manage using it. Thanks for this honest video!
Your ideas and insights are brilliant despite your age, darn, how I wish I was born in this genre or this information was available too long time ago so that my mistakes in life were a little bit lesser than what I had made.
Same here. I even thought it was scam or someone is trying to get my BDO information so I just ignored it but then I start receiving notification and they deilvered it via Entrego which seems legit.
It really takes months before they release the card even when it’s secured. They need to check the cashflow of the bank account you have, then they also do extensive checking, the 4 months is standard release. From here on, you can easily apply for any credit card because you have an existing one.
Good for you na nagapply ka last July 2020 lang and received the card this December unlike me, I applied in RCBC last December 2019 and approved last February 2020 and I received my card last October 2020. See how long I waited for the card. Weekly ako tumatawag sa hotline nila to know when my card arrived
I got envy about the level of financial knowledge u got! I'm really happy that I accidentally bumped in to your video/s and got hooked to it. This really feeds a lot especially with young ones. Kudos! Keep it up!
My first card was the BPI Blue MC. I got it when I was around 20 and it was my entry point to get my Citibank Cards! I would recommend getting a Citibank CC because of their real time transaction posting! You can always track your cards if they get hacked because transactions are posted right away sa app nila after u use your card unlike other cards na mag take pa ng ilang days para mag reflect ang mga purchases.
I got the Simplicity+ first because I was just trying out and didn't want to pay for annual fees (because who wants to pay!?) Hahahha then after a few months they offered me a Rewards card with no annual fee for life!
Get a credit card if you know yourself when it comes to spending. Marami akong kilala na ayaw ng CC dahil gastador sila and it will just enable them to spend more without thinking that this is actually a debt or utang. I have my card for almost 3 years now and only uses it for basic needs at tamad din ako magdala ng cash.
Hi nicole, i just inspired by you and following you since a few months ago. And because of that I just get a card like that a few days ago. THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING ME💙
Hey, Nicole! Congratulations on your first credit card! I want to have one, to be honest. Btw, can you make a video on how you started getting valid IDs? I find it hard kasi to know how to get started. Lots of financial institutions require government-issued IDs, and I wanted to get started with investing and all that, yet I don’t have one valid ID. Hi! If you have a passport, that's considered as a primary ID. 😊 But for me, I applied for a Postal ID for my first primary ID. You can just go to your local post office to apply for one. 😊
Thanks James! Sophia answers your question well hehe. The easiest Valid ID to get is a Postal ID, but if you can, get a driver's license or passport na din 😄
Hey, Nicole! I’ve watched some of your videos and this video is one of my favorite. Nagpunta ako sa BDO after watching this video to apply for secured credit card. Luckily, I was qualified for a regular/basic credit card. Nakuha ko ang credit card after 3weeks of waiting. I really wanted to have my own cc para magkaroon ako ng credit records. Thank you for inspiring me ☺️
I’m now 32 and I just started TRULY saving and investing. I regret I didn’t do it while I was young but I guess it’s not too late for me to do it this time. I’ve learned a lot from your videos, Nicole! I truly appreciate you generously shared your best practices. You inspire the young. You showed that it is possible to start earning and becoming rich at a young age not just by relying on inheritance. Kudos!
I just got today my first credit card also. at first takot ako kumuha. but then i saw a video in IG and also this video then ayun, nagka idea ako. hahaha thank you!
Hi Nicole.. Just found out TODAY that you can charge MPII contriburions to your CC with a charge of 17.50 a month.. Share ko lang kasi charging to your CC can help you with points and pang-waive ng annual fee.. Hehe..
This video helped me rethink of getting a credit card, because i don’t feel responsible enough for this, maybe when i’m abit older and abit more mature haha thankyou!

Subscriber since 10k palang channel mo, and I watched most of your videos because it is very informative and nakakarelate ako. I am planning to get a credit card and I watched this video 2 months ago. I have my savings account sa BDO and was able to meet the minimum deposit hold out requirements but sadly 21-70 talaga ang ina-accept nila. I'm 20 years old, a student that has an investment, but I'm not yet working and I really want to get a credit card to start building my credit history and to wisely use this instead of using cash whenever I'm shopping. Swerte mo, Nicole! 😁
Hi, I first watched this video the day it was released. I learned a lot from it. 7 months after, I got my own secured credit card too. You mentioned in your video to try applying for a regular credit card after six months to one year. I'm just curious if you have applied for a regular credit card.
Nagdeposit ako sa CIMB Bank dahil sa napanuod kong video sayo. First P260+ (minus the withholding tax na ang laki) interest earned this month. dahil sa 100K na nilagay ko, to see that 4% interest. like wow! anyway, my first CC is also BDO Visa Classic, hahaha! Medyo mas madali na nga maapprove sa ibang bank ngayon. Declined ako sa Citibank dati kahit simplicity+ pa lang yun. Mas okay mag-start sa basic CC.
Its actually helpful to me in monitoring my expenses and investment on my own I actually have stable business as of now but I want explore even more to learn to control expenses and financial status considering i'm still 13years old as of february 22
Hi! Please do make a video regarding on how many investment accounts should a person have. Thank you very much! I've watched your other videos and still watching the others. I'm already 25 yet I learn alot from you. You are so damn cool 🤘🏻
Congrats Nicole! Having a credit card a good start to gain credit score. Unfortunately, my application was rejected when I applied months ago. This is one of my reason to work hard and earn more until banks will directly offer me credit cards and rejecting them. Hehehe
I just got my first ever credit card last month. It's a BPI Gold with 90k credit limit. The process couldn't be more easier, I didn't fill up any forms and provide lots of documents, they just asked me to email my signature, then after 3 days I received my credit card right in my doorstep. Yay!
Hello, I'm new to this channel and really appreciate the information in the video, but I do have a question since it confused me a little bit. Once I deposit the minimum cash that is needed to be able to open an account like 10k, can I get that back somehow or I will never get that back as long as I use their service? If that so, is it like I payed a 10k for the card? And If I understand correctly in the video, I also need to pay yearly for their service? I know this vid is 3 years old haha but still hoping to be answered, thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Nicole!! Been learning a lot from your videos. So Lovely how you share every learnings you have. Will start to fix my finances! Hehe so inspired by you. I promise I'll support you and pray for our success! 🙏
Most people apply for a CC to travel for free in the future. While here I am spending w/ CC coz of free GCs and Food vouchers 😂 nabubusog naman kami. 😂
Shared this to my sister. She has been considering applying for a card. Also, I finally bought Rich Dad Poor Dad because of you. I always see a copy but never bought one. I now have a preloved copy. Hahaha! Thaaanks!
Kinda love and I find this video of yours very interesting. Btw I just saw your video cross along my feed and decide to watch it. Really helpful for someone young like me although I find it hard to understand investments. Still hope to watch more videos like yours that helps young persons to have knowledge about investments. 👍
If your credit card have airmiles and allows for taking personal loans from your credit balance, you can take the loan to maximize your monthly airmiles gain while investing the loan into high performance investment. Of course you have to calculate the interest or fee to make sure if the number is profitable.
There's neo banks here in mexico Like my bank and stori banco Giving credit card with 0% comisiones or paying anual fee. Good for those folks looking to start there credit history. You don't need to have a credit history to apply for those cards it's around 90% sure success rate they will give to you.

Hi! If you have a passport, that's considered as a primary ID. 😊
But for me, I applied for a Postal ID for my first primary ID. You can just go to your local post office to apply for one. 😊
Thanks James! Sophia answers your question well hehe. The easiest Valid ID to get is a Postal ID, but if you can, get a driver's license or passport na din 😄
Thank you, guyssss! This is a big help! 😘
I started sharing your videos with my kids. I hope you can make a webinar to educate kids on how to save.
BDO visa classic credit card offers virtual card different from your original or physical card number. It is safely to use when online transactions :)
We got our own Graham Stephan in the PH now! Let’s go!
Thank you for inspiring me ☺️
pwede po ba ang installment sa secured credit card like normal credit cards?
I’m now 32 and I just started TRULY saving and investing. I regret I didn’t do it while I was young but I guess it’s not too late for me to do it this time. I’ve learned a lot from your videos, Nicole! I truly appreciate you generously shared your best practices. You inspire the young. You showed that it is possible to start earning and becoming rich at a young age not just by relying on inheritance. Kudos!
Glad to found this vid. New subscriber here!! Love this

Just found out TODAY that you can charge MPII contriburions to your CC with a charge of 17.50 a month..
Share ko lang kasi charging to your CC can help you with points and pang-waive ng annual fee.. Hehe..
Yooo! Your videos are great ☺️ thanks

I'm thinking about this and there u are!!! I'm waiting
Awesome haha hopefully worth the wait!! I'm a mindreader jk 😆🍞
Nagdeposit ako sa CIMB Bank dahil sa napanuod kong video sayo. First P260+ (minus the withholding tax na ang laki) interest earned this month. dahil sa 100K na nilagay ko, to see that 4% interest. like wow!
anyway, my first CC is also BDO Visa Classic, hahaha! Medyo mas madali na nga maapprove sa ibang bank ngayon. Declined ako sa Citibank dati kahit simplicity+ pa lang yun. Mas okay mag-start sa basic CC.
Really regret not a credit card earlier 🙃 Congrats! Can't wait to see you get the higher tier cards! hehe
I so much love your videos Nicole! they are very informative. I love learning about personal finance from you. Keep up with the good wok. 💕
Its actually helpful to me in monitoring my expenses and investment on my own I actually have stable business as of now but I want explore even more to learn to control expenses and financial status considering i'm still 13years old as of february 22
can i say that i am extremely lucky to came across one of your vids?😅
Always love watching your content!
Thank you rangelo!!! 😄❤🍞
Hi! Please do make a video regarding on how many investment accounts should a person have. Thank you very much! I've watched your other videos and still watching the others. I'm already 25 yet I learn alot from you. You are so damn cool 🤘🏻
Tried Secured Credit Card Security Bank strictly 21 years old only be applied but for BPI Secured Credit its much easier
security bank secured credit less than 3weeks and 100% approval. BPI secured credit card is subject to approval.
Congrats Nicole! Having a credit card a good start to gain credit score. Unfortunately, my application was rejected when I applied months ago. This is one of my reason to work hard and earn more until banks will directly offer me credit cards and rejecting them. Hehehe
Haha maybe you can try secured credit cards first since its more or less guaranteed approval 🤔
I just got my first ever credit card last month. It's a BPI Gold with 90k credit limit. The process couldn't be more easier, I didn't fill up any forms and provide lots of documents, they just asked me to email my signature, then after 3 days I received my credit card right in my doorstep. Yay!
That's awesome congrats!!! How's the experience so far? I've been with BDO for the longest time so idk what it's like to be a BPI client haha 😅
Do you need to deposit a certain amount too?
Hello, I'm new to this channel and really appreciate the information in the video, but I do have a question since it confused me a little bit.
Once I deposit the minimum cash that is needed to be able to open an account like 10k, can I get that back somehow or I will never get that back as long as I use their service?
If that so, is it like I payed a 10k for the card?
And If I understand correctly in the video, I also need to pay yearly for their service?
I know this vid is 3 years old haha but still hoping to be answered, thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Nicole Alba!
Natawa ako dito but yes HAHAH more perks of having a credit card 😆❤🍞
For starters, I think security bank (not secured) card is better for starter. Has a great chances of approval.
Wala ako naintindihan masyado kasi naka focus lang ako sa mata mo and the way you smile and laugh. Stunningly astonishing 💕
If your credit card have airmiles and allows for taking personal loans from your credit balance, you can take the loan to maximize your monthly airmiles gain while investing the loan into high performance investment. Of course you have to calculate the interest or fee to make sure if the number is profitable.
Happy 71k subs 💞❤️
