Sa ibang bansa, esp. US and Canada, necessity ang credit card because of your 5th reason. Credit cards help you build your credit score. And a good score will allow you to buy your first home / car.

Over a decade ago, I was overwhelmed with the pre-approved Citi card I received with a 50k credit limit and another one with a higher credit limit and I was Swiper no swiping from Dora personified and maxing out my limit in just two hours in one day until I got tired of the endless cycle so I paid off my balance and literally cut my cards in half. Now that I’m financially wiser, I just keep a secured credit card with a small credit limit. I refuse any credit card offers just because I no longer like having debts with more than just one bank. And I must say it is financially liberating to have cash instead of relying on cards or whenever I use my card, I pay it on the same day via the bank app.
These are really good tips, one reason why you’re one of my favorite local youtubers. Keep it up, Thea! 💖

Thumbs up! It really helps. I'm 28 yrs old and never had a credit card before because I was raised surrounded by a wrong mindset about credit card. I bought and paid all my stuff (mobile, gadget, motorcycle, Desktop, etc) in full cash and it really feels inconvenient to withdraw a huge amount of cash (not to mentioned the ATM limit per day). And now that I'm earning almost 6 digits/ mo. I think it's about time to have a credit cardS to use it as an advantage. Many thanks to you ate! maganda na matalino pa +2 !

I've worked as a collection officer in an international bank before, and your explanation is on point, I think this is the best way na iexplain sa mga debtors/ credit card holders yung charges nila, yung ang mahirap kasi sa job namin, lalo na ang Pinoy, kuha at kaskas lang ng kaskas.. Actually takot pa rin akong magka credit card, great power comes with great responsibility ika nga, dapat prepared ka intellectually and financially for you to be a good credit card holder..

Pero good payer naman ako. Hehe. For example, nakabili ako ng mga gadgets for installment using my credit card and it its very convenient. Nagsimula ako sa mababang credit limit, but since i'm a good payer so medyo malaki na din siya. :) Tama yung suggestion niya na mag-start kayo mag-open ng savings account bago mag-apply for credit card, kasi dun din ako nagsimila and now different banks are offering me at approved agad.

Karamihan ng financial advisors they will say... And pay your expenses using cash.
Personally, my family doesn't own a credit card. My parents paid everything using cash. If they buy something like a car... they pay whole amount with cash.

Good thing no annual fee for life sya.
