Thanks for the video Rose! Good Stuff! I also want to add this: When starting your own business, start your own business and avoid franchises. I bought into a franchise thinking that my income would be commensurate with my level of effort. Turns out it was just like working for someone else, even worse. The way that particular franchise's business model worked, the franchise, vendors, and even my employees were making more money than the company was. All of the things I learned from the franchise, I could have figured out on my own, even if it took a little longer. Most franchises are terribly one-sided business ventures and they offer very little benefit vs. being a local "mom and pop" business. Food for thought.

Good information about different incomes. You mentioned a key to your success is being a very hard working person. I would also say you are a very smart person to be able to get such a high paying job. The bonus from that job alone, is more than a lot of people make in a year. When you say, "If I could do it, you can too", the reality is there are some people that could do it, but not everyone. A lot of people do not have the brains and work ethic to simply choose to be the kind of person that has the results they want.

I understand that people who have a UA-cam channel probably come under having business.
But you do realize that there are people who work for UA-cam who design the interface and algorithm - the “earned income “ people - the software engineers that are behind the whole business platform .
Again this video doesn’t take into consideration that business can fail- whereas earned income is constant .

Outstanding - great life hacks that you learned through experience. The only additional thing that I would add, at least if they never made that much money (like myself), is the word 'sacrifice.' Although it's a negative sounding word, the concept is important. If you only make $50K a year, and wanna fast-track to a FIRE-type life, you'll need to find ways to drastically cut back, and send as much money as possible to invest / send to 401K / save / etc. If you can find a way to live happily at half your salary (this is the sacrifice part), then every year you set aside 1 year of living expenses. 5 years = 5 years of free living. But of course you'll earn more than that if you're investing, etc., so 5 equals at least 6, 10 = over 12, etc. At that point, the compounding really kicks in, and knowing about your portfolio's potential future growth may allow you to stop working. Obviously, living on 50% of your income is nearly impossible - unless you really want it and get seriously creative.

I think this is your best video. Great content here. However, I do think a traditional education in a valuable domain is a great foundation to build upon and provides a fallback. You yourself have a BS in finance, and I think that helped you more than you realize. It open up your mind and gave you the mental tools you used to get where you are now. Many businesses require an advanced degree to start (medical, engineering, etc.).

I disagree. I personally have an MBA from a top 50 U.S. school and it hasn't helped me in my business. I have a small (20 employees) bathroom remodeling business in TX. I would have known certain things alot quicker if I had a background in construction (i.e. being a knuckle-dragging construction worker or plumber). I know many tradesman who never went to college and all of them run successful multi-million dollar earning companies today. You know, the real backbone of the U.S. economy, not companies like Theranos or Tesla.

@@erikc3057 I agree that most people are probably better off not going to college and there are many business where it won't help. A college degree is definitely not required in many fields and I agree that for those fields, a young person is better off working in that field rather than wasting time in college.

Amazing tips, but honestly, these tips are more effective in developing your social skills than making you a millionaire. I wish it was that simple. It takes more than these tips; some people won’t even know or need them to become millionaires, but I get the positive part of sharing them.

That's actually what I liked about this video, because she covers the financial side in plenty of her other videos. So in the context of everything she's put out this is a great addition which is usually never touched on in other finance youtubers channels.

The whole ‘start a business’ tagline being pedaled by all the finance gurus is getting old. They all make it sound like it’s easy and simple when it’s not remotely either for 90% of the people that try. Success is not the norm and you’re working on it 24/7…

Staying abreast of the latest trends and strategies is crucial for traders to stay ahead and make well-informed decisions. Beginners in trading and investing must recognize that success in these fields demands technical analysis, emotional maturity, and self-discipline. Sometimes these youtube finance people are really out of touch. Earned income is also the easiest income to earn.
You only can do investing income if you already have income (earned income).
Business income: not easy to get. Also takes capital. Again you can't just start out as a business. There's a lot to learn to make your business successful.
Investment income: again money doesn't just show up one day and you get to invest it. And again, investing takes a lot of education. You don't just show up investing and make money or else everyone would be doing it.
So yea focusing of types of income that take a huge learning curve to start out with probably has very low probability of success. There's 1% that can do it but...really we all can do it that way.....nah.

If you break the 1 million into smaller chunks, it will become more attainable. 1 million is just 10 chunks of $100,000. If you work a job that pays $50,000 a year, which is the median income for Americans, and you can save $25,000 a year by living really frugally. Then invest in the entire stock market that on average, historically grows about 7% a year, by the end of first year, that $25,000 becomes $26,750. If you reinvest that $26,750 into the market and save another $25,000 for year 2, then by the end of year 2, you will have more than $50,000 in savings. So after 2 years, you already half way to your first chunk of the 10 $100,000 chunks. If you start this process at age 25, becoming a millionaire at age 40 is very doable.
