- The Bf 109 K-4 is the ultimate evolution of the Bf 109 in War Thunder, at least thus far, and has some of the best stats and armament for any prop plane in game. In this video, I fly it and relive one of my favorite planes in game, even if it might not necessarily be the best Bf 109s in War Thunder relative to BR.

I use this plane up to 7.3 in ground rb for dogfighting. It's really fun to use.
the k4 might be the fastest 109 but for the br it's at, it's slower than everything it has to fight

It's faster at high alt than any non american plane
It'll be above everything ut has to fight except LF's. It is a lot faster than LF's.

At 5.7 it is pretty out classed, but it can still do very well. One of my favourite 109s! Glad you made a video on it.
They should move it back down to 5.3 along with the 10. For fun
Ehhh, honestly super props need their own BR space/bracket.
@@BARelement Yep they need to put a .5 BR gap after the Super Props and a -.5 before them to isolate them more. Only a couple jets like low ranked 262s etc should match with them outside super props. MAYBE a few pre super props.
Instead of helping the BF109 against the P 51 and P 47, he prefers to shoot bot's 😂
I don't know why, but this is the only 109 where I have periods of time where I feel invincible. Strings of matches where I get 2-3 kills each easily. Half of the spitfires I come across at these periods of time are laughable. With all others, I feel like I'm trying so much harder.

While flying the p51h, the only planes that am completely unable to beat are the ta 152h, 109 k4 without gunpods and yak3u. Note am a bad pilot and only started air rb to get some planes for punishing CAS players in ground rb
109s of any kind should be EZ meat for P-51 Hs the only one you should seriously have issues with is the Ta 152 H and maybe the Yak 3U (but that’s down to how safe, and coordinated you play).
I have the Papagei Staffel and it is my favorite skin in WT. Go get it, it looks awesome in a match.
Bf 109 K4 + and -
+ great energy retention
+ faces USA braindead teams
- gets put into 6 player lobbies ruined by Ju288 way too often
- has no ground pounding capabilities
This plane shines because allied teams don't climb and are played by new players which rush to high ranks failing to learn in lower tiers. Other than that it really is not better than the allied counterparts at around 5.7.
It actually has a fair bit of ground pounding capability with the 20mms. You can kill AI tanks with the 20mms, even with just air belts. It’s honestly broken that you can casually strafe a group of tanks and get 2-3 tanks in one pass.
It's not too bad at ground pounding. If you can get accurate with the 30mm you can annihilate light tanks and open tops in no time flat and put some serious hurt on medium tanks when you're attacking top down
@@TallyHoTuba I was talking about combined battles where not even AP belts will help against medium/heavy armor, especially russian armor. The fact that you can one tap AI shermans In AIR RB is a bug.

Energy is meh since the p15h and the f2g exist
15:45 man, never, NEVER duck down. There is gravity, bullets go down in arcs, you just massively increase probability that they will hit you
Sometimes it helps, if they shoot high, and you dont waste energy

A lot of the time i am the only fighter on my team and the rest are in ju 288c

So lebte er für ein großes, teures Herz und versteckte sich vor unaufhörlichen Warteschlangen. Als das Flugzeug über die Frontlinie flog. Es gab Kugeln in der Linde, und er zeigte sie lange. Und seine Tante hatte einen undichten Hut. Aber das hat sie nicht berührt. So amüsierten sich die deutschen Asse.

People chasing planes just to die over the AF is the reason why so many people camp the AF's. Way to make the problem worse.

The K-4 wasn’t actually present for the majority of the war, when it was it wasn’t tan on 1.98ata, and was in very few.
Okay but it was present for the last 6 months of the war, and besides, a ton of the aircraft it faces never even saw combat in WW2 like the P51H, F4U-4B, and Yak-3 vk107, etc... what's your point?
The K4 is what happens when you take a DB605 engine, remove all limitations, and fuel it with a 50/50 mixture of rocketfuel and pervitin. You then strap that to a 109 airframe (and finally give it a retractable tailwheel).
How you used to fly it: take min fuel, point at 30° and watch red players cry at your energy advantage
How you fly it since the Ju288 release: you dont. Losing 7 kill matches to brain dead bot teams will crush your soul. You dont have enough ammo to kill an entire enemy team and if you take the gun pods you dont have the performance to 5v1 - which you have to cause of ju288 teams.
So you saw at 4:05 that you didn't get an assist. Am I the only one who seems to have that happen a lot? I mean I've been shooting ground targets, critting planes and getting no assist for that. Am I tripping? Also, super excited to play this thing just unlocked the g-14
Is a 109 with Gunpods just a Fw-190 (or Ta) that can't roll?
the only thing that the gunpods effect is the roll rate, it doesnt hinder top speed or turnrate significantly at all like many other gunpods do, but as a 109 your roll rate is already sub par, which is why I and many others dont equip the gunpods, the nerf to roll rate just isnt worth it and the nose mounted 20mm is all you need if you're fighting other fighters, you just need the gunpods to kill bombers.
What about the climb rate? I feel like you take them to attack bombers but if you can’t get up there then it’s best to leave them. I’ve been experimenting with the Finish 109s that I’ve recently unlocked but can’t decide which load out is better.
@@timb3499 it doesnt significantly effect climbrate, the climbrate even with gunpods is still better than most other props, climb at 280IAS with manual engine controls radiators at 12% to 23% (depending on snow or desert map) and wep all the way to 5k meters
In your opinion which is better in all aspects FW-190 or BF-109
Have to play MEC with the bf109s
Note that k4 is extremely strong in medium speeds energy fighting like spiral climb etc, but it loses a lot of power at low speeds compared to americans because of the small propellor blades.
I unlocked this last week, and my war thunder friend/trainer scolded me again for flying with the extra cannons.
Question: what convergence do you use 400, 500 or 600 ?
I cannot accurately tell you for the K-4 since I'm at the F-4 but for me, 600m works very well. This isn't maybe for you since our playstyles differ.
Doesn’t really matter with center mounted guns
Set one convergence, learn with it and never change it. If you start fiddling with it on every plane, it will throw out your aim.
doesnt matter without gunpods, with gunpods i would recommend 400m at first because these cannons can be very tricky to aim at first so only shoot the 20mm if you are closer than 600 and got a good position to hit. the 13mm are ass
400 means you are effective up to 800m, 500 means you are effective up to 1000m and 600 means you are effective up to 1200m. Personally i use 600, it's both decent for head-ons where you fire when they are 1300m away, and fairly decent in dog fights, since its not a zero, and you wont stick like glue to them 5 meters behind them.

If you don't count the S-199 then G-10 and G-14. They are identical to the G6 variant but put at 5.7 and 5.3 for some reason. G6/10/14 should all be 5.0.

This plane stock is one of the worst high teir prop planes. It's a pain playing it when you just get it. Compared to the f4u-4b or ta-152, bf-109k-4 is lackluster.
The Mustang, Thunderbolt, Tempest, Etc are much better BOOm, & Zoom fighters than the 109s, & 190s due to the higher top speeds on average, and the extra momentum via the weight.
109s are better at stall climbing due to the T/W. The 190s are helped by the better MER + T/W. But it’s false to say they are perfect when there are vastly better planes at BNZ on the opposing side… It’s a misconception.
In real life the 109s, especially locked up way earlier, and broke apart way earlier than it does in game. Even with the fantasy flight modeling that they have in game it is by far not among the “Best at BOOm & ZOOM”.
it is certainly better than turn oriented planes such as the early Spitfires, & Zeros of all sorts. But among the best? No, it’s average-good/decent at best. The Linear Energy Retention derived from top speed is simply not there like it is for the Corsairs, Mustangs, Thunderbolts, Tempests, etc.
i mean. i can't blame your aim... 11,000 hours, playing on and off, and so many different types... i'm not much better.
