So Randy obviously didn't get off the diverted plane that went to Puerto Rico so it would seem American Airlines owes him a round trip ticket to anywhere
To me this is the most interesting story yall have had on, like Gary Balough . Thanks for all these podcast, Jr, Mike, and Matthew is awesome we will miss him
That dude lived an action movie lifestyle that you could only do by just stumbling and bumbling your way through it. What an incredible story and one absolute character.
What a great interview Dale Jr and Mike!!! It truly is inspiring to see how much hope Randy had for so long, that he was going to get out of prison and now trying to help others. This was my second favorite interview you all have done, behind having your brother Kerry on.
Listened to the whole Podcast today on my Moto ride back form the Smokey Mountains... man that was an entertaining Podcast! One of the best so far. Crazy story.
Holy Crap!! This Story is Amazing...You Can't Make Stuff Like That Up Jr! Wow!! Great Show and Great Story!... This Guy Is The Real Thing!! Lol...A movie should be made! Lol...Wow!👍😁🏁
@@duaneschonbergfishing1585 Absolutely, even if you're someone who thinks weed turns people into lazy degenerates, that to me sure sounds preferable to the abusive degenerates alcohol often turns people into.
Awesome story. I remember watching him a bit back then and the global hunt for the drug running race car driver HAHA! And the apache boat guys, big deal in the day. Really cool to have him tell those old stories and that journey owning it all 100% like a man. I'd say ole Randy had some good times.
Mr. Lanier... Can't knock him, his story is amazing... Who hasn't made bad decisions, who is without sin? I'm sure some who would throw stones have done something that would land them behind bars... Randy lived it as a Rock Star, lived it as a real man, and guess what, he's still doing it today... Mad respect!
Lanier tells the TRUTH way more than Mayfield did . Mayfield was all " I never did anything - i was arrested for no reason" the Judge saw it different , Meth head.
I spoke with Randy at a couple of races during the IMSA days. He would talk racing all day. Those were the days. My boys had their picture taken with him. He was Randy Lanier the racer not Randy the drug smuggler.
Whoever is editing these videos, the music lately has been playing over the voice and the intro video. It's kind of a strange thing because you guys are so good and squared away normally on everything else with editing these videos.
'Maserati GT with snakeskin upholstery' - lyrics in I believe in the song 'The Red and The Black' by Blue Oyster Cult (it may be a different song of theirs). Their keyboardist was Allen Lanier.
Totally agree Ricky Craven and Randy Lanier. You need to move the podcast to Florence Supermax and interview some of those kingpins. Take a break from NASCAR stuff for a bit.
I watched Randy race at Watkin Glen in 1984. Blue Thunder Racing in a March chassis, small block Chevy. He held his own with the Porsche 962s and Jags. Watched him lead many laps. Al Holbert was on a tear at the time. RIP. The war on drugs was and is a fail. This country has consumption problems. Marijuana? If he moves to NYS, he'll get preferential treatment setting up a pot business. He's due.
The Netflix documentary was really good, I know he says “it’s a plant” and he shouldn’t have got 30, but he knew what was going to happen if he didn’t stop, it’s not like it was a few joints, it was a cargo ship full! But respect to him for seeing the truth and forgiveness, great story.
These stories bring me to the roots of racing. Folks bringing their moonshine movers and rum runners out of the shadows to make some money on the books. So many racers would do ANYTHING just to keep racing. Shame them for breaking the law, if you must. But I'm amazed at the drive and determination some have to race at a competitive level, no matter the risks and potential consequences. Randy Lanier, Gary Balough and others are heroes to me for their dedication to racing.
Just because someone else lives their life that way, doesn't mean you have to. Doesn't affect your life in any way and damn sure doesn't make you any better than anybody else
Not talking about Chicago or Indianapolis! I'm Talking About MICHIGAN! So Very Important! NASCAR! Bring back the First Race at Michigan! 💪 Have you Lost Your Minds? General Moters, Ford, Chrysler! DETROIT 🇺🇸🏁🌅
So the DEA and US Customs had boats they called "Blue Thunder" for chasing drug runners....i have always wondered why Lanier's race team was also called Blue Thunder Racing....which came first, the DEA boats or the racing team name?
Government wanting to punish people over such a harmless plant and a great medicine. But now that the government collects their share of the money from legal cannabis states it’s all okay. It makes me irate.
Dale Jr. , why don't you talked about saving the race track named SOUTHSIDE SPEEDWAY located in Chesterfield County, Va. ? Put an "SAVE SOUTHSIDE SPEEDWAY" bumper sticker on your race cars . 🤔😎🏎🏁🏆🇺🇸🇮🇱🇨🇦🍀🚜
What would be interesting if Dale Earnhardt Jr could get Teresa Earnhardt on the show and bury the hatchet. I believe everyone would love to her them have a conversation.
I uhhh…. Yeah… if that ever happened, it’ll be awkward and toxic… She is one of, if not, the WORSE female individuals in NASCAR. She’s literally suing people that has the DEI stuff, yet her real last name is NOT Earnhardt. She was never a real Earnhardt to begin with. I just don’t see it happening, Bob.
All I'm saying is a it would be a great interview and anyone a fan of Sr and Jr. Want to hear them discuss family history. Would be make Great TV serious.
NASCAR started with moonshiners. That's ok in some people's books. Running marijuana is/was the new moonshiners. Get over it all you holier than thou. If you've been under a rock, weed is being legalized all over the U.S.
What you called a criminal activity in that day in age is now legal in most states today. What he did doesn’t sound to criminal to me. It’s marijuana. Relax.
Lmao Dale back tracked quick when he said "thats where my mom... NOT my mom"
I noticed that real quick also. He said "that's where Mom..my...Teresa and Dad spent their honeymoon."
Hilarious!!
So Randy obviously didn't get off the diverted plane that went to Puerto Rico so it would seem American Airlines owes him a round trip ticket to anywhere

The most important question and why I waited till the end, "Was it good weed?"
One thing is for sure : This guy has lived an exciting, dangerous life !
The criminal aspect aside....DAMN that's a good story
