I love the TOS Battlestar Galactica. Such a tough looking design, and the size and scale made perfect sense, and was easily relatable because it had those wonderful landing bay pods.
Excellent job on the landing bay lighting! I've always wanted to do something like that. I ended up just settling on putting white strips on each side to simulate the lights and made them go off in the distance using forced perspective to make it look deeper than it actually is. It's a fun part of that model to modify!
I just got my aztec decal set for the reimagined 4105 scale Battlestar Galactica and getting ready to use it. you said something about getting back to this model after some time, and I know what that's like!
As always what an amazing job When I lit up my landing bays I photo copied the background effect onto matt photo paper and lit it from behind the effect was really great due to the photo paper being almost see through, just a thought for anyone who wants to try it its an amazing way to cheat an effect Cheers from oz
Boyd for the Commlock lock I was trying to think of a way to incorporate an LCD screen kitbashed from a TinyTV LCD. They sell them at Walmart for like $25-$30 and play clips from shows like Batman. If there was a way to get the screen into the kit and possibly program the chipset to play a clip from Space 1999 that would be amazing.
There are lot's of miniature LCD screens available on the internet that can be setup to play MP4 video files. Just a matter of finding one that's the proper size. I'm sure someone will do just that. For mine, I just plan on a back lighted picture and some sound fx.
Yeah I'm really liking those chaser lights. Is that sequencer board from a particular model on their website, or just something you specially ordered from Ralph there?
Very nice. I've been slowly working on this kit myself. I've come up with a chase light sequence with using timer chips. What did you use for the lights? SMDs?
Sept. 17 2021 was the 43 anniversary of BSG. I watched the three hour premier in its honor. Love that Battlestar design.
I didn't know that, cool.
Those landing lights are seriously cool. Nice flashback to my childhood.

Yep the original is still the best.
Battlestar Galactica is a favorite of mine, loved the ships for that TV Series and Movie!
I like both the original and the updated versions. I do like the ships from the original a bit more though.
Now all you need is some little vipers. Looks good!
Looks like a fun model to build. That chaser sequence looks amazing.
Boyd like the effect on the landing bay looks awesome thanks for the update have a great day.
Lighting is going to look so cool when it's done. Great progress.
That is going to look super Boyd! Love the landing bay effect!
Thanks Kenny, I was just glad it can be seen looking in that small opening. Would of been a lot of work for nothing lol.
Awesome work! 👍👍👍
Very nice. The chaser looks really cool.
Fabulous work on the landing bay lighting! Thanks for showing this and am looking forward to the updates!😀👍👍
She is looking great.

Lighting looks really cool! I wrote a program for the chaser effect for an arduino board.

Chaser looks awesome and you could see just a little of the back panel detail. The red was washing out the camera.
Yes it is the camera, in person the detail of the wall is clearly visible.
Well done
Wonderful!!

The board is a one off for this project.

Yes regular white 0805's glued to the backside of the floor and then painted black to cover from light leaks.
I wish Moebius would reissue the BSG kits.
Stupide question maybe, but, where did you find your PCB ? Did you make it by yourself or you buy it some where ?
It's a special board done by Tenacontrols.
