Would you be able to make a video or describe the method to remove the channel?

Unbelievably bad design by Ford! As well as running silicone sealant along the top edge of the metal drain channel, make sure the cabin fresh air intake mouth is well sealed into the back of the channel. On mine water was running into the channel, then out again around the plastic air intake, down the back of the water channel and dripping onto the engine. While I had it apart I also sprayed a load of Waxoyl on the scuttle below the windscreen to help stop it rusting. The sponge strip along the front edge of the channel is also useless. On mine water was getting behind it and dripping down on the engine and air intake (soaking the air filter). More silicone sealant liberally applied all round to fix this incredibly shoddy design.

Yeap, exactly! Good idea on coating with Waxoyl.
