RIP Kofi Burbridge, bringing the great Hammond B3 on this track.....He died in 2019. His brother Otiel is playing bass....a great song by a tremendous band.
Not a big fan of "best" when it comes to music and art. At least you added imo. Still within the construct of the music he is wonderful and seriously there are few songs that will well tears like MiH. But I gotta say that within the the musical constructs of Bonnie Raitt and Lowell George of Little Feat, you couldn't really find replacements for either on the slide.
Duane Allman is probably smiling down and grinning from ear to ear, after listening to Derek Trucks, and Susan sing this bluesy tune🎶 I've got to say, she has the most soulful and silky vocals that I've heard in recent times... simply put "ear candy"
Had the opportunity to see Susan with her band a couple of times in San Fran and Santa Cruz, 2005-2006, also saw Derek with Allmans and Gov Mule. Have now seen TTBand in a couple of smaller venues in TN and GA, Red Rocks and a couple of Music Houses. This is a talented group, they play full houses wherever they go. Their “I am the Moon” compilation is great songwriting and musicianship.
The guitar captures that Indian Raga sound while the band captures that bluesy groove as Susan sings the soul out of Harlem. What a tune. What a performance. Tedeschi is a 1991 grad of Berklee College of Music in NY. So beautiful.
Susan and Derek are married with children. Derek's late uncle Butch Trucks was a original member of the Allman Brothers he was one of the two drummer's. Derek was also a child prodigy on guitar and had his own band at age 12. He later was in Governor Mule and replaced Dicky Betts in the Allman Brothers.
I'm sure Derek's sat in with Gov't. Mule at some point, but that's Warren Haynes's band. Warren, of course, was the other guitarist in the ABB with Derek during the last several years of that band.
Phenomenal performance. Derek Trucks is the best guitarist you've never heard of. I was privileged to see him in a small venue years ago. I was standing right I front of him and I was just mesmerized. I never forgot it. Incredible guitarist. Incredible band.
Same here bro. I was watching him closely to try an pick up his technique some, an then I noticed him looking directly at me a few times. I dont know if he noticed me staring at his fretboard the whole show, but it was a strange feeling to say the least. Then I was getting a reflection of the lights off his pickups in my face, an I was trying to soak it in like it was gonna bestow me with skills...lop Good times
I’ve known Derek since he was 13 yrs old and Susan since she was in her very early 20’s. (I owned a Blues Club in Ontario Canada, between Detroit and Buffalo, on the north side of Lake Erie) They are the best live band on the planet, for many years now! Loved your reaction vid! Cheers from Lake Country BC Canada! Peace
TTB played in our little small city. Gosh, what a show! So professional. Derek broke a string in the middle of a tune. He calmly sat on a monitor and changed it and tuned up, then jumped right back in, the band riffing til he was ready. And Susan is a force of nature right on her own! This tune was written by the background singer in the yellow shirt. Such a musical blessing! Amen Harri! Yeah, such a tight band indeed. Thanks.
I will be seeing them in Little Rock, Arkansas in a couple months for my birthday. Can't wait. I've only been to 3 concerts in my life so this is something I want to do more often. I saw Paul Simon, Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban.
Derek Trucks is hand's down the best Slide guitarist out there today and he's absolutely Beyond comprehension sometimes and Susan's voice is just in a World of it's own .
Seeing someone truly feel and appreciate music, or another great work of art, is as beautiful to me as the beautiful music or art work itself. You, to me as an audience member of this video, were part of the souls being inspired by one another on the stage. Your facial expression, movement and radiance brought on by the joy of seeing and hearing this song: priceless :)
Hi Harri, Thank you for doing my request. The only thing better than watching this video is watching you enjoying and reacting to it. Merry Christmas to all fellow Besties! - Brooklyn Mike
Saw Susan right up the street in front of about 5 people, and I could see at the time she was something special. And Derek may be the best guitarist going. And put Oteil on bass, now you've got something.
I am a huge fan of this amazing band, I sat here and listened to this gorgeous song for I don’t know, the three hundredth time, and I am transported, covered in goosebumps, every time ! Masters. At the top of their game.❤
saw them live a few months ago at the london palladium, what an amazing band so tight every musician is at the top of their game and susans voice is so good and they both play killer solos, so cool you react to them harri
This is one of those sit back on the patio with a drink and listen to this song over and over. It's like the song Summer Breeze. You can just kick back and relax. So good!
Magical Band all the way through Harri ! What Mr Trucks does on his slide guitar solos ,cannot be practiced ! It's all improvisation and skill and focus and talent pouring out of his every bone in his body . Glorious !
Susan Tedeshi & Derek Trucks are husband & wife. Also Derek is the son of Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks. Derek was also a member of the Allman Bros Band.
The Bassist is Otiel Burbridge who played with Derek since 1999 in The Allman Brothers Band . He's the perfect compliment to Derek's playing & can "Keep up" with him .
Check out their version of Sky is Crying or Eric Claptons Why does Love got to be so Sad. The bass player is Oteil Burbridge who was the bass player for the Allman Brothers for their last 17 years and currently besides his own band, Oteil and the remaining members of the Grateful Dead plus John Mayer have toured for the last 6 years or so as Dead and Company. Great reaction Harri PEACE ✌️ brother. Oh yeah and Happy Holidays my friend
One of the TTB finest efforts. I never grow tired of some Susan Tedeschi vocals....NEVER! The song was written by their backup singer Mike Mattison who is still with the band. This video is fairly old and many personnel changes have taken place. Kofi Burbridge on keys passed away in 2019 from commplications stemming from an earlier heart surgery..... RIP Kofi. His brother on bass, Oteil Burbridge, left the band in 2012 and currently performs with Dead and Company with John Mayer and 3 of the original Grateful Dead and Company band members (Saw this band a few years ago and John Mayer was an outstanding addition to this iconic band IMO. Great reaction Harri, TY.
I feel ya. It puts you in that rare space. There is no throw away parts in this song. It's truly a Rock Opus. Every instriment compliments her voice like another part of the lyrics. In my mind it shares the same space as the Flamingos " I only have eyes for you", Smokey Robinsons "Crusin", Aaron Neville's Tell it like it is" Barbara Lewis's"Hello stranger", Baby I'm Yours', Mark Cohns "Walking in Memphus" & Hall & Oats "Sara". Of course there are more, but out of how many in maybe 100 years of ballads, they occupy just a small class. If this band was around in the Album era when Radio was the town square of music, everyone would know it.
I love the way that whether people appreciate this from the starting point of Susan’s voice or Derek’s guitar, they’re equally blown away. Then you realise all the outstanding stuff everyone else in the band is doing ❤❤❤
They are amazing. Trucks played with the ALLMAN BROTHERS FOR awhile and his wife has a SMOOOOTH BLUSY VOICE , she can also play the hell out of a guitar too. I've only seen them on TV but never been disappointed. Your description is SPOT ON
A beautiful, swinging, lilting tune, served perfectly by Susan's silky voice and singing, by Derek's multi-textured guitar and their ace band. Aural joy.
I love this song. I have the album Revelator and it features on that album. The song has many variations. Susan’s voice is magic, Kofi’s fingers with the keyboard, Derek’s magical guitar work, plus the remainder of the band playing is just fantastic. They are my favourite band. I have their Moon project albums as well plus others. To me they have no peers.
I will never forget the first time i heard this song it was eight years ago sunday sitting in my house with my back tk the tv Eric Claptons crossroads gig, Susan started singing immediately i turned round ,,i was utterly blown away,,I've now seen them five times in concert,,cant wait for the next time.❤🏴
First of all, great reaction!👏👏 Secondly, I will be seeing these guys for the fourth time in Indy on July 15th. They are amazing every night out and expect nothing less this time!! Lastly, RIP Kofi!!
Thank you for giving genuine praise to Derek and his Wife Susan. She has an incredible blues voice that can go from "gravel" to smooth. Derek plays just as good without the slide but that soulful "india" sound at the Intro was sweet, and his lead break gives me Goose Bumps. (in fact they both do) Have a listen to their version of "The Letter" !
RIP Kofi Burbridge, bringing the great Hammond B3 on this track.....He died in 2019. His brother Otiel is playing bass....a great song by a tremendous band.
I was fortunate enough to see them twice while Kofi was alive. He was a beast on the flute too.
Home Park ATL Royalty, Burbridge brothers are Zambi legends

This breaks my heart... what a great musician. Loved hearing his B3 playing.
😢😢😢
“I’m drunk on this track!” A perfect description!! ☮️❤️
So many Allman Brothers influence s in here...the best touring band around today !!✌️
Derek Trucks is the best slide guitarist that's ever been in my opinion .
Not a big fan of "best" when it comes to music and art. At least you added imo. She Reminds me of Bonnie Raitt. Would love to see them do a duet.
@@timo5601 great comparison 💛
@@timo5601 yeah she definitely gives off Bonnie Raitt vibes.
I prefer "ear diamonds"
I love that. Gonna use that now, lol
She's one of those ladies who could sing anything and boy can Derek play. I think their version of "Darling Be Home Soon" is better than the original.
The world is sleeping on this band. New album is beautiful.
Well they play all over the world to sold out shows so the whole world isn't sleeping on them just a lot of it.I've seen them 7 times.
@@mbsnyderc i'm jealous of you.
also you'll love thinking that in the future. you didn't sleep on them, you were part of them
Had the opportunity to see Susan with her band a couple of times in San Fran and Santa Cruz, 2005-2006, also saw Derek with Allmans and Gov Mule. Their “I am the Moon” compilation is great songwriting and musicianship.
You can say that again. I am the Moon is a masterpiece and better than anything they have done, or any band has done in the last 30 years.
@@mbsnyderc Good thing I didn’t say “whole” world.
The guitar captures that Indian Raga sound while the band captures that bluesy groove as Susan sings the soul out of Harlem. What a tune. What a performance.
Tedeschi is a 1991 grad of Berklee College of Music in NY. So beautiful.
Wow!!! I'm 64 and blown away. TY for your music, fantastic!
Susan has the amazing ability to put unstoppable power into her voice without having to rely on volume. The whole band is amazing.

Derek & Doyle Bramhall III also toured with Clapton. Derek & Warren played together in the reincarnated ABB.✌️❤️🎶
Good for all here to see how good Tedeschi Trucks Band is in concert. Even BB King was smitten by Susan Tedeschi.
He was smitten by Derek too. Lol
Derek Trucks is one of the greatest slide guitarists in the world! This is an awesome one brother...Thank you
Phenomenal performance. Derek Trucks is the best guitarist you've never heard of.

Yup, been watching him live since he was 18, with ABB and Derek Trucks band. And now TTB, he's simply awesome. And what a great human being
Two drummers. The entire band are top musicians. Tight.
His solo is like hearing the words from a tragic love story come to life in sound. But that's the meaning of the song, yes?
That was heavenly.
Derek Trucks is so peaceful.💚
I love how Derek just lays without any histrionics or drama - so classy.
I’ve known Derek since he was 13 yrs old and Susan since she was in her very early 20’s. (I owned a Blues Club in Ontario Canada, between Detroit and Buffalo, on the north side of Lake Erie) They are the best live band on the planet, for many years now!

Derek, is the pinnacle, of feel, accuracy, and creativity.
Nobody else comes close within those boundaries.
Great reaction brother!

The best band in the land right now! I’ve seen them many times and this past summer was the best!!!❤
Love your observations. Great song. Great band!
One of the best bands in the business. Love this stuff. Bands like this, Allison Krauss and Union Station etc I could listen to forever.

Best Live Band in America today !
Can't go wrong with the TT Band.
Have seen them about 75 times … they never disappoint..
Your reaction to one of my favorite songs brought smiles and tears of joy. You made my day
Fantastic!
One of the best bass player of them all...
Pre-Covid this was the best band anywhere. The best slide guitarist, best singer, best backup. Just the best.
It still is.
Pre , during, and post covid....
Wow 😮. This was fantastic ! Thanks for this Harri. I didn’t know who this was until this minute. Derrick Trucks, my goodness. Her voice is awesome.
Derek Trucks is the guitarist,Susan Tedeschi is the lady singing.
Susan Tedeshi & Derek Trucks are husband & wife. Also Derek is the son of Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks. Derek was also a member of the Allman Bros Band.
Nephew of Butch
Well that escalated fast at the end. What a tremendous guitar solo. And her singing was like butter, so soulful.
Great to share another listen of this performance with you, Harri. If you’re knocked out by Susan’s singing look out when she solos on guitar!! ❤

Thank you for the info on the writer being the backup singer, as I didn't know that.
Mike and Derek wrote this together according to the credits on the album.
Susan Tedeschi is Massachusetts greatest export since Democracy itself

You are absolutely right the music just takes you away to some place that is warm and safe. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
glad to see someone else appreciating this masterpiece.

It's Mikes song on the acoustic /backup vocals Matheson
I love the layers of instruments and vocals coming in, with all building up, and no-one stepping on the others
A beautiful, swinging, lilting tune, served perfectly by Susan's silky voice and singing, by Derek's multi-textured guitar and their ace band. Aural joy.
I can’t listen to this enough, so very soulful, chokes me up…

They’re husband and wife too!
How cool is that
He wants the band to shine!
Just unreal. Love this version so much.
I'm getting addicted..to your broadcasts Harri; thanks again!
I have been a fan of Susan for a long time, love the band!
You totally get the improv.
Dude. Love ya man.
That was really very beautiful
Derek is amazing!
This performance has what is IMHO one of the greatest slide guitar solos of all time.
Keep on Growing, Fox Theater, Oakland

Thanks Harry!
TTB is the best live band on the road now. Superb live.
Mature world class musicians. 12 band members.
React the cover of Anyday
My favourite of theirs. Saw them in London years ago.
One of the best bands out on the road hands down.
Just saw them in July. They are one of the best acts to see now. I saw Susan solo years back. She warmed up for Buddy Guy. Another great concert.
missed this Gem buy you my dear man i have seen her live 14 time's but not your reaction! you have an ear of a studio TECH!
I will never forget the first time i heard this song it was eight years ago sunday sitting in my house with my back tk the tv Eric Claptons crossroads gig, Susan started singing immediately i turned round ,,i was utterly blown away,,I've now seen them five times in concert,,cant wait for the next time.❤🏴
First of all, great reaction!👏👏
Secondly, I will be seeing these guys for the fourth time in Indy on July 15th. They are amazing every night out and expect nothing less this time!!
Lastly, RIP Kofi!!
You'll love their "Angel from Montgomery/Sugaree". There's so much talent in that band, it's almost criminal!!
Going to see them March 2, with my youngest son who has never even been to a concert! Can't wait!
Susan sounds so much like Bonnie Raitt and that is high praise. Thanks for this great request and fantastic review. 🎄🎁🎄
Thank you for giving genuine praise to Derek and his Wife Susan. She has an incredible blues voice that can go from "gravel" to smooth.

Great reaction!!! You really let it speak for itself. If this doesn't move you...not sure what would😂
Dereck is the best guitar player alive and Susan does have a beautiful voice.
Thanks Hari! I have been waiting on this !
Loved the commentary and watching your reactions; thank you!
I've seen this amazing band multiple times!!!!! my all time favorite.
Crushing it
I’ve seen them before, such a delightful blend of instruments and artists. Makes me happy in many ways.
Hari, insightful analysis regarding the emotional impact of the lady's honey toned voice. I have to dig in to these folks. Mine some more gems!!
The best slide player out there today
