I haven’t tried a weighted vest for my clients, mostly because most humans are not symmetrical. Most of us also have postural deviations which I don’t think putting more load on would help. I would say if you already have a certain level of fitness then yeah they are good or for more body weight training.
I did some research after been given some strap weights for ankles or arms. And most articles adviced against running or anything else that's impactful to your joints. But it's ok for things like pull ups, dips, leg raises etc

Yeah unfortunately I hear that overtime running in general starts to wear on you, ofc added weight would make that worse. But I feel like an elliptical or some type of biking for cardio is way healthier for longevity and helps avoid getting bad joints

I’m 14 and I just tried weighted push ups with a random bag and I put a 20 pound dumbbell and only was able to do 4 pushups and that man did them like it was a walk in the park this man is something else
if u have plates use them instead I sometimes put 30 to 40 lbs in my backpack using plates and im planing to buy a weighted vest and im 13 hope that helped
