I always love when you get experimental musicians on here talking about experimental music they like. Ra, John Cage, William Basinski, and Talk Talk. Come on, those are all fucking great! I'm also gonna have to look into that last electronic compilation he showed. Thank you Amoeba for bringing this guy on the show.
The play out music on the Ossie Davis spoken word LP sounds like a Galt MacDermot composition. He wrote the score for the Davis directed COTTON COMES TO HARLEM (1970).
Thank you man. My newest project is open.spotify.com/album/1r3UenAoUbL4gjvP2wWCb8?si=fPwE5tFRRBGkTW4HCzWE1Q I think it’s a fun place to start and work your way back!
ayyyyye philly represent. central 273. gotta say it again, consistently killin it with the album transitions. love how representative they are of the music. can't wait to see where you guys go with them next.
Hadn't heard of this guy will checking out his work for sure after that natty selection. These vids are a great way for artists to promote themselves. And I gotta get a copy of that dog training record...
Never knew that about talk talk !? Cool guy, excellent choices! I want everything he picked, now I need to check out his work which I'm not familiar with! Anyone have recommendations?
Hunter Davis I know him from his more House and soulful "downtempo" music, he was a pretty big figure in the underground DJ scene of the late 90s/mid 2000s, and definitely a music lover, but the stuff I'm familiar with sounds pretty different from the stuff he picked out -- which I think is cool.
Britt is totally underrated among ordinary dancers. Actually he is unknown for the most of them. But it’s a shame for us not to know his music . His “Nova Dream Sequence” is ought to be a techno stamp. And his works with Clara Hill are broken beat representative for the scene . Hugs from Omsk

Fairly sure that comp is available on Spotify, if I'm not mistaken, featuring Richard Pinhas among others. Weird shit.

This is one of the best episodes of 'what's in my bag' I've seen. I laughed I cried I was on the edge of my seat until the shocking finale!
Ace human being right there! Terrific DJ/Producer. Have danced to his sets many times. Great picks as well

Another very strong entry for WIMB. Britt seems like a true head and a sweet guy, to boot.

Very pretentious picks. can we get good musicians like Post Malone or Mason Ramsey on here.
How is a pick pretentious? It's music, dude. You either like it or you don't.
this is my new favorite youtube comment of all time
Most of his picks were from his heros or things he will sample.
