Lol Adrian Younge here is like the cool music teacher we all wish we had when we're younger
Some of his explanations are so hilariously canned. Doesn't take away from the importance of the music he's sharing though
Best believe im taking notes 📝
Straight FACTS!!!!
That is hilarious because he comes from a long line of educators, he has an aunt and some uncles who were music teachers. His great aunt was Sheila Younge Wilson Vp Kamala Harris first grade teacher....it makes sense that he would be like the cool music teacher!!
Can we all just agree that this was prolly one of the most enriching enlightening episodes, purely because of the amount of knowledge this brother has and his evident pleasure in sharing it? ugh
Actually a musically literate man with taste!
Yeah, this is one of the best episodes.
i can listen to adrian younge talk about music all day
damn he almost shed a tear talking about portishead :)
whats the name of song?
@@faizanshafi6182 It's called Cowboys buddy ;)
Reminds me of that time flea actually did tear up talking about when he listened to Ruff Draft on a hiking trip
He picked your guitarist too.
King Crimson and Portishead are 2 of my favourites. Adrian is a top producer and this clip shows why
This guy is so serious with it he has special crate digging gloves on
Nope, I think he wears them most of the time. I’ve shaken his hand in London whilst he wore the very same gloves😃
Amoeba I can't express or explain how much I appreciate this series. I've been watching these for years and have recently been, 're-bingeing' the old and new clips. From DJ Spinna, J Rocc and Karriem Riggins, my idol Peanut Butter Wolf to this amazing passionate gifted brother, Adrian Younge. Thank you for creating a platform for them to share their passion and pass down their music knowledge and influences. Much love. Peace.
I'm 3 videos into this guy and he's become one of my favorite people in the world
Every single album he listed is a must-have. Nicely done, Adrian Younge.
This is why I keep notifications for this show. I knew Adrian Younge was going to have the hippest picks
Please get him back for a part two.
Duuuudddee...I could listen to Adrian Younge talk about music all day long! I nearly cried when he brought out Arthur Verocai! That album is everything! From start to finish it's a masterpiece! Adrian knows wtf he's talkin about!
I know right he seem like he could be a music teacher and I love Rapahel Saadiq "whats in my bag" also he is another one that give great stories about the albums I can just listen to both artists talk about music all day long.
Incredible good taste! Now I wanna listen to your music, Adrian!
u really should :)
WOW! Adrian Younger is a very elegant man and a great musician.
Me too!!!
Listen to 12 reasons to die by Ghostface Killah, Adrian produced it! Great album
The Midnight hour project is really good.
Idk who this guy is but damn I'll have to check him out. I liked every person he recommended. Best episode yet in my opinion.
Check out his album with Ghostface Killah called Twelve Reasons to Die. He produced the entire thing
No shit. This man truly loves music.
My favourite work of his is Bilal's album In Another Life, give it a look
@@henryhill92 definitely
Do yourself a big favour and check out "There is Only Now" by Souls Of Mischief as well. It's an album that actually demands you sit down turn the volume just about moderate and listen to the story unfolds, the whole album is a story.
David Axelrod is mad overlooked outside of the Hip Hop community.
so true dude is a genius he has mad respect from the Hip Hop Community/heads tho.
Yeah. There's some people who've been fans for some time though, like Richard Ashcroft used to play "Holy are you" before The Verve concerts in the 90s
Yes! Everything he ever touched was pure excellence.
I don't know this guy but his taste is great
This episode is a blessing.
I always knew Adrian Younge's taste would ressonate with mine. Raymond Scott and King Crimson were quite a surprise, tho. went to a Arthur Verocai concert a couple years ago and it was amazing, we all should be thankful to Prefuse73 and Ubiquity for giving him proper recognition
ABSOLUTELY, HANDS DOWN THE BEST SO FAR.
The best episode. Always return just to enjoy
Cinematic !
I like the way he dresses very classy.
Portishead as a group will never go out of style and time.
Wow ! 🥇
This video took me 2 days to watch. Paused for a Raymond Scott rabbit hole.
I have massive respect for this man. Very good taste! Half of these recordings in my favourites list.
ONE OF THE BEST
Outstanding selections all around. That Arthur Verocai record is the truth.
Damn he really broke down several artist and that are still referenced and sampled in today’s hip hop. This is a great starting point for anyone who hasn’t delved deep into recent music history.
Definitely one of the best selections of gems in this series... thx for sharing! 😍
Amazing how so many joints I was influenced by he listed. My jaw dropped years ago when I first heard King Crimson that same song. My whole day was trippin till I found and got that song.
Anybody interested in this guy should check out his collaborative album with Ghostface Killah, 12 Reasons to Die. Amazing beats and production
It's wonderful to see his love and passion for music. I didn't know most of the albums or even artists he is talking about in this video, but I will definitely give all of them a listen.
this is BRILLIANT!
Excellent choices💯
Thanks for this beautiful playlist!! um salve do BRASIL terra de Arthur Verocai!! BLESS
I must have watched 100 of these and I think this might be the best one.
This one needs a part 2, 3, 4, 5...
Top shelf episode. Thank you for turning me on to some fantastic albums.❤️
Damn. What a dude. He should have a weekly segment here.
Did not know this cat until I checked this video out, but I'm all in now!
this episode rules on many levels, the best part reminding me of the lightworks sample source after people told me that the dilla sample was not taken from an actual song. vindication!
all choice picks, awesome
Great video of great taste , thank you so much ❤️
Thank you Amoeba..we rock🤘
One of the best episodes
Adrian is one cool brother! Definitely going to check out his music!

The only What's in My Bag that put me onto mindblowing albums
Saw Portishead in '97 too. They were awesome!
one of the best episodes
Great video, going to check out his music now for sure
Raymond Scott is a genius! Also, every note on that Headless Heroes album has been sampled by another great band. And that's ok!
Heading to my local record store to buy a copy of "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised"
Never heard if this dude, but his taste is impeccable; thus, he just gained another fan.
Adrian Younge and I have the same taste in music. These are all some of my favorites.
Vince Guiraldo Trio is a good pick! Chloe Burbank introduced me to that magical world.
Awesome !!!!!
Great one today
Great discoveries here (for me). Eugene McDaniels, Raymond Scott, David Axelrod... Cheers Adrian!
Vince Guaraldi’s music was 🔥.
Great episode!!!!
I just knew that Adrian's edition would be full of gems.
insane picks!
amazing taste
Half of his favourites are my favourites.
No coincidence.
Dude knows his music'..He composed the Black Dynamite albums using all the oldschool equipment guys were using in the 70's. Never heard someone talk about Eugene McDaniels before. I thought I was hot ishh' for having 2 of his albums. Hehe.. I have that David Axelrod vinyl too. Songs of Innocence is a great album as well, and people sampled the ishh out of it. I guess Im being reminded of how dope Portishead is too. Time goes by and u stop playing older stuff sometimes. I need to bring it back!! Great episode. Reminds me of my own record collection. I need to start playing my stuff more. Tks for the reminder dudes..✌
amazing picks!
One hell of an episode.

The revolution is online ✊🏽
I was just listening to the album he did with Souls of Mischief!
.... and I’m still playing the ‘Black Dynamite’ soundtrack!!
The best by far...
Superb selections from a great musican / producer. Went deep with integrity and not phony obscure name-dropping of the rarest white label pressings. Listen to Adrian Younge's suggestions and music.
guy is so cool!
the man.
This guy has really good taste
Good musical taste! Vince Guaraldi Trio, Portishead, David Axelrod, Arthur Verocai would be my pick.
