My family has thyroid gland cancer but I do not have this pathology in my genes. It was tested in Germany. So, am I safe to take trulicity? Another question is do you take it before or after a meal?
I was in the initial clinical trial for the first GLP-1 med Byetta almost 25 years ago. I then switched to various GLP-1 over the years. Since these meds become less effective over time I'm also using insulin and EMPAGLIFLOZIN. Ive probably been on GLP-1 longer than anyone and fortunately have had no pancreatitis. Since the good doctor recommends Ozempic, I'm curious to try it.
Would love to know your thoughts about Empagliflozin. My mom's doctor gave her that medication however she's not quite sure about the usefulness of it.
@@rihamuddin4320 Of course, it's difficult to quantify but I would definitely say it has been helpful in my. As I said ,as a longtime diabetic I've been on quite a cocktail to over twenty years. Insulin, glp-1 drug, networking. About year ago, my daily glucose was stagnant at 200-230. So ampigliflozin was added since it was a drug that is quite different from the others that I have been taking. It is easy to estimate that it has lowered the daily figure by 60 to 70 additional points. My last A1C was 7.0 which I was quite pleased with. Normally I could have lowered it even more to 6.0 if I was doing my normal cardio exercises but my bad back has severely restricted me. The only possible side effect is the urinary tract infection, but I haven't experienced that. Even if I did, any number of antibiotics could cure it easily. I'm a firm believer in the importance of exercise in lowering glucose levels. Indispensable.
I've been on trulicity and one side effect is pain in the scrotum not in the testicle only in the scrotum skin extremely painful. And doctor doesn't show concern about it
Hi Dear Doc! I use trulicity as 2 years and have not lost one Kg. I slepp 15 hour every night, I lost my power, have problem with neuropathy , skin problem and lost much hair.Diabetes is OK, I not feel hungry and some food cannot see it.
Trulicity isn't known to cause diabetic retinopathy. It can actually help lower blood sugar, reducing the risk of complications. However, if you're concerned about vision changes, it's best to consult your doctor and have regular eye exams.
Doctor, do you recommend trying Trulicity if I had side effects on other GLP-1 agonists? I am type 2 diabetic. Tried Ozempic - lost 20 lb, but started having terrible panic attacks. Switched to Mounjaro - no appetite suppression, have neurological symptoms - numbness and tingling. What are my options?
I’ve been on this for 2 years and it has stopped working for me ! We have me on the highest dose and it still makes me want to eat and eat a lot of sweets

You might try a diet that will clean up your liver and guts. If your guts are not working they begin to effect the liver. Other organs can follow with high blood pressure. Watch some doctors on youtube that give information on healing the organs for better health. It's hard and takes years but it just might help keep you out of the Drs office. 😁🤔
I requested something other than metformin. I've been on it a week. Some heartburn & a lil nausea, but I had to force myself to eat last night. I haven't been watching the blood sugars but am going to start loging them today. I have back problems and have topical lidocaine so I put some of that on, swab with alcohol then inject. I've only done it once but injected in my tummy which I've never done. I felt nothing. But I am concerned about the black box warning with an increased chance of cancer. I know it's in rats but YIKES! Why is ozempic better? Didn't catch that in the video...anyone know?
I was on Metformin too, until no longer needed, no side effects that bothered me, and I see there is an over the counter possibility called "Berberine", might work as well.

Medicare wants me to use Trulicity. My dr prefers Ozempic. Out of curiosity, I called the insurance company to see how much they were and Ozempic was $550, Trulicity was $1050! I was shocked that they were insisting that I use the more expensive, less effective drug. I have to “try” Trulicity before they’ll approve Ozempic. I picked it up but I’m not going to use it, we’re merely playing the insurance game. I still wanted to check out the needle size. Without reading the directions, I thought the smaller end was a pen cap and flat grey end like the plunger on any syringe. I turned the “cap” to the green position and pulled, nothing. So I pushed the green button and heard a loud click and the grey end popped out, but was still attached, making it look even more like a primed plunger! I still couldn’t remove what I thought was the cap. I figured that I better read the directions. Step one: remove the flat grey cap. 🤔 I held it up, looking at it “how could this be a cap?” I pulled it off and suddenly all the medication shot up in my face 💦 😂 I moved it away and it kept coming out until it was done, there was no stopping it until it was finished! It was only seconds but it made a little mess. I thought “Well, there went $260 of meds!” 😂 After the blunder, I looked at the needle and thought it looked rather long compared to the Ozempic pens. But I didn’t realize the Ozempic pen had a viewable needle that needed to be changed all the time. I’m not sure that I like either option? Has anyone tried them both? Side effects?
I'm an oddball when it comes to my diabetes and I've held very horrible dietary habits due to college, but honestly i don't eat as much anymore. I eat twice a day now, which is more than I can say when I used to be in college. One guaranteed thing i noticed with taking insulin, i don't eat as much sweets as I used to pre-diabetes. Here's to hoping Trulicity will help my sugars. I take a high dosage of insulin per night and while my sugars and a1c have progressed, we're not where we're supposed to be (me and my care team)

No wonder a diabetic can't get this medication right now. No drug is completely safe. Why would anyone take this medication for weight loss? It's meant to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics. If you're not diabetic, then taking this drug would be dangerous for a non-diabetic.
That is usually the soreness of the muscle where the injection was given. Learn more about Diabetic Medication too: ua-cam.com/video/XNTt2RLpRjM/v-deo.html
I would suggest changing the site where you are injecting. Also, the injection pain is only a few seconds. If you're diabetic, it is well worth a few seconds of pain to lower your glucose level.

My doc wants to put me on it but I’m afraid because I don’t want a med I’m not sure I can get. 10:07
Ask your doc about the other alternatives. There are quite a few in the same category as Ozempic.
Great Info thank you Doctor. Justo a small pronto you light want to work on reducing the use of your "uh and uhms" ask crutches to carry you in between thoughts. Other than that great insightful video. Very much appreciated now I want Ozempic.
I was on ozempic my side effects never went away nausea couldn’t poop felt terrible belching the little I ate my stomach was bloated
It causes gastroparesis
I don’t like Ozempic, makes me feel like if I have gastritis, and makes me feel nauseated. I love Trulicity better💕
My family has thyroid gland cancer but I do not have this pathology in my genes. It was tested in Germany. So, am I safe to take trulicity? Another question is do you take it before or after a meal?
YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE DR. I AM TAKING NOW.FOR WEIGHT LOST.I THINK THIS IS VERY HELPFUL INJECTION.
All the best
@@waynehasch5978do you mean that trulicity or ozempic may not be useful In the longer term? Did you not loose enough weight
I've been on trulicity and one side effect is pain in the scrotum not in the testicle only in the scrotum skin extremely painful. And doctor doesn't show concern about it
Do u start this anytime of the day?
Hi Dear Doc! I use trulicity as 2 years and have not lost one Kg. I slepp 15 hour every night, I lost my power, have problem with neuropathy , skin problem and lost much hair.Diabetes is OK, I not feel hungry and some food cannot see it.
I heard trulicity can cause diabetic retinopathy. Is that true?
Trulicity isn't known to cause diabetic retinopathy. It can actually help lower blood sugar, reducing the risk of complications. However, if you're concerned about vision changes, it's best to consult your doctor and have regular eye exams.
Doctor, do you recommend trying Trulicity if I had side effects on other GLP-1 agonists? I am type 2 diabetic. Tried Ozempic - lost 20 lb, but started having terrible panic attacks. Switched to Mounjaro - no appetite suppression, have neurological symptoms - numbness and tingling. What are my options?
I will get waves of nausea, diarrhea and/or constipation at times and sometimes nothing with this
I’ve been on this for 2 years and it has stopped working for me ! We have me on the highest dose and it still makes me want to eat and eat a lot of sweets
I've tried Byetta, Rebelses, now Trulicity and all of them make me so sick, terrible heartburn, nausea, vomiting.
Stay away from them. Some people can’t tolerate this class
If only pharmaceuticals could produce a medication without side effects. So much suffering. I'm wondering if I should take something like Phentermine instead? I only want a jump start. I miss the days of OA. The motto was, "Don't eat no matter what. No matter what don't eat." Darn drugs, darn obesity!!
Good point about refrigeration
Thank you

👁👁 What about a Change in Eye Vision is that a Side Effect for using TRULICITY????
Diabetes does effect your eye sight.
What do u recommend for the swelling and rash. It’s driving me crazy. 😭😭😭
My mother took it for the first time and regrets it. She has severe abdominal pain and vomiting.
it can do that for some people. I agree
SugarMDs She’s currently in the ICU. Took her first dose ever on Saturday morning and now she’s in the ICU and I don’t know if she’ll ever come out and can’t be inside to comfort her because of covid.
The video states he believes ozempic was better because of efficacy and had more weight loss which would affect glucose levels
@@nh1702 yes I understood that. He said at the get go he was going over the difference between Trulicity and Ozempic. I have to try Trulicity first though because of insurance. Thanks 🙂

While Trulicity worked good for me, it always gave me bad constipation. Ended up going off it to insurance issues and... the constipation never stopped. It was added to medication I was already taking which was Labetolol

I thought “Well, there went $260 of meds!” 😂
After the blunder, I looked at the needle and thought it looked rather long compared to the Ozempic pens. But I didn’t realize the Ozempic pen had a viewable needle that needed to be changed all the time. I’m not sure that I like either option? Has anyone tried them both? Side effects?
Was Medicare able to finally approve the Ozempic? I’m in the same boat.
