- Harbour Fishing With The New Best Bait!?!
Gday everyone and welcome back. Now im aware its been quite some time since i did a challenge video. So today i thought id do another. I was scrolling through UA-cam the other day searching for some video ideas, when i came across some people using hot potato chips as bait. I only seen 2 videos and the people in the videos seamed to have some good success. So I went to my local harbour. Bought myself a pack of chippies, and put this too the test. Lets just say....it works pretty damn affectively!!
Cheers for viewing and i hope you all enjoyed :)

I was fishing at a dock just chilling with my mates a while back, we went and bought some chips as lunch and one of my friend through one on a hook, that day he caught a 78cm flatty, a day to remember

Nice job bubba👍creek squad👍
Catching FISH with CHIPS. Ah, the sweet irony. Great Vlog Josh.
Thanks Ralphy!!
This is a lot of fun to watch! Great to see you’re having fun!
Cheers cheers
I love this. $600 rod, $500 reel… hot chips for bait. 🤣😂🤣 LEGEND! 🤙👍🤙
I didn’t think of that🤣🤣
Well you never cease to amaze and entertain Josh…..I have watched you land massive flatties, whiting, bream, trevally and various pelagics then here today you are around the docks and boats fishing with “hot chips” and landing small fish yet seem to be enjoying the experience as much as any other you have presented. Those bust offs …..wow, “they’re too big and too quick”…..yet you never gave up……Great video again Josh.
Yeah well it’s something different and I thought I’d give it a go. There is a couple videos on UA-cam of people using hot chips but I really wanted to do one of my own. And yeah the fish loved em. Caught plenty of fish but non with great size. Well they would have been good size if I was able to land some of those big ones that busted man :(
Oh well maybe next time aye
Great experiment, I loved it I was thinking much heavier braid on up-and-down fishing with an equally stout leader. Love your attitude
very entertaining, thanks Josh
Very nice video josh loving the videos and I feel you pain losing all those big fish.
Great vid josh love the challenge vids👍🎣
Hey joshy another banger. Never thought that a chip would catch fish. Keep up the great work cause your going to blow up soon!!!
Thanks buddy :)
Our grandkids use chips at Forster every time we head over there and they always have a great time catching and releasing a great variety of fish its simple back to basic fishing good fun watch the excitement on their faces
You’ll have over 100k sun this year easily bro keep it up you’re a legend. Inspirational to older UA-camrs haha
Great idea josh love your content josh keep it up
Cracking video and love them chips …. Over here in the uk we have a fish called a chub ( freshwater fish ) and they love chips …..
unfortunately so do I so they very rarely end up going on the hook 🤣🤣🤣🤣…..
That was an awesome fishing session with some rod bending action. Shame you lost some of the fish but that’s how it goes. Better to have hooked than not at all !! All the best 👍🏽😀🎣
Amazed by this...
Amazing as always its amazing how good you have got at editing and how quick you get subs keep it up legend yeww
Cheers bro
love your work bro, youve inspired me to start my own fishing channel
Awesome vid Josh I think there is going to be a round for fishing with hot chips great stuff mate.
Your vid’s make my day😀
Epic josh! Even with the bust offs, u found plenty
Thanks for the video Josh, I too love fishing at that warf, was there on Sunday caught a decent taylor and a travally. Using Pilchard though. Keep up the good Work.
Thanks mate!
Please do some more bait fishing videos josh,
And whatever you do don’t stop making videos your definitely going to blow up soon!
Another banger! Mad video
Great stuff , was wondering when the next clip would be . 👍🎣✔
sick vid Josh once again! Been loving the vids lately. Those chips worked a treat. You should try the MMD Soft Prawns they have been slaying the trevs and bream. Yeww
love the videos especially this one
New to the channel. This was a lot of fun to watch!
😀 every warm blooded Aussie worried for your chips/bait soon as ya walked away the first time 😂 onya though another fun vid👍🏻
Thanks mate🤣👌🏼
Great video, inspired me to head to my local marina and fish off the jetty. I was using chicken breast rather than chips but caught a pb bream, structure is the way to go!
Oh mate chicken is a excellent bait for bream. They love it!
Mate's always made fun of me for using left over chips from chickos in wollongong, I've never caught anything on it though! Glad you got some quality footage of chips working !
Loved the video Josh! I’m definitely going to try some chips for bait when I get the chance haha 😂😂
👌🏼🤣
Done it before works so well
This is why your my fav fishing youtuber
❤️
Amazing catch girl, those small ones are good for frying. Might be small, but very tasty. Glad to see you have much luck using potato fries sticks as bait. Enjoy and thanks for sharing, God bless
After I watched this vid I subscribed 👍👍👍
Well done👍🏽
Now i want hot chips. I love his videos keep it up.
Love your vids mate
What a great way to end the day
Damn you must have the the video on X10 speed🤣
caught a 37cm bream on hot chips, no sarcasm at all by FAR best bream bait, love it👌🏽👌🏽
Well done. Spot on.
I did the same thing. Other day was at lunar park.
While we was having lunch. A noticed someone left a bunch of line tangled up.. saw heaps of stonker bream in a corner hanging out. Threw a bit of chip in that i was munching on and saw them smash it.
Mum was so finishing her meal so i had an idea.
I told Katie to go get a few pcs of chips that she didn't want to eat. While i went to retrieve that left over line and untangle a decent length of line And retied the hook that i found.
Blah blah... you know the story.
Caught 2 stonker bream, released on the spot of course. And discarded the rest of the found line in the bin.
Then went back to lunar park ...
Best random lunch break bream season ever. Chips ❤
Fellow Ulladulla fisherman!!!! Love the content
Hey mate, when I'm back down in the Dulla hope to see you out fishing legend wish you all the best champ 👍another fisho
Lol.. love it🤙🤣
Bloke with the Eels fishing jersey. Legend.
That’s me ahahaha
I love the vid I hope you haven’t been to sick and I hope you feel better soon
Was good for a week or so and been pretty unwell the past 5 days. Hoping new medication will help me soon
@@joshdfishing I usually love going fishing but I live in Lismore and the floods have just ruined pretty much anywhere near me
Defiantly would love to see another harbour vid
👌🏼
Good stuff josh 🤙
Great video josh, surly Daiwa sees this and actually makes the slippery chip 😂 would be a breambo killer
Mate the mouth of the dulla harbour there produces some decent fish if you sit where some of the big boats dock right at the mouth. Caught a 48cm Trevally and 52cm flatly among multiple multiple baby bream. The diving to break you off tho is super intense so you gotta be switched on.
Watch out for some of the biggest rays I’ve ever seen tho Holy.
Yooo great vid there some nice bream I love queensland for fishing heaps of good fish
Great video
Hey bud awesome video keep up the killa videos 🤙
Keep posting great vids Joshy
Thanks brother
Mate you’re a legend. I’ve been fishing for bream lately just because of you, been desperately trying to get anything over 30cm… no luck though aha over 60 fish and nothing legal
i got 36 and 32 yesterday (use garden worms)
@@ffelix.w update: i caught a 32cm bream and a 48cm snook on soft plastic! these videos have been a great help.
@@breezygeezy1370 Yes they are and good catch!
Use lures or cast chunks of bait in slightly deeper water like in the bigger rivers
Id recommend going Sydney harbour rushcutters Bay i fish there slot and there's plenty of kings even some nice size ones as well as nearly every fish you can catch in new Saltwater I use a 6.6 2-4kg Ezekiel Stryker and have even brought up some legal kings on
14 lb and have gotten many on metals in the winter if you're around in the summer though suga pens work well for them casting into bustups, etc
Sick video mate.
Looking at your OZ utube vids,it makes me realise how far back in time the UK is compared to OZ.I get the feeling we are all living in little resticted boxes here in the UK.
love the vids mate, can you do another challenge vid with snake lollies as a softplastic??? that would be insane to get a big flatty on.
Totally gonna have a crack at the hot chip challenge!
Give it a go and let me know if you get onto em!!
I'd give it a go but I like my chips so much I'd definitely run out of "bait" before even making a cast 🤣
Great video josh
Cracka session !! 🔥
Reminds me of when we were using frozen shrimp for catch and release bay fishing.
After releasing many fish and using up all the shrimp we joked that eating the shrimp and using lures might have made more sense.
Bro I know there’s fish in a reserve where I love but no matter what I throw in there I can’t catch anything until I watched one of your vids that day I caught 6 my record haha thank you bro keep it up
bro i tell u what - up here at chinderah theres this bakery called cubby, its really expensive and on the tweed river, but all of the people there eat on the bank and chuck their leftovers in. if ur ever up here its a must when fishing with bread, so many monster bream 👍👍
I would eat them all before I had the chance to use one for bait😂😂😂
that'll be one Large chips please!
Hey Josh loving the vids, keep it up mate. And don't lie I know you prob snuck a chip or two.😀👍😉
😳😋
Awesome
yea bream go crazy for hotchips, caught tons of them just unweighted
Hey Josh, it’s great you’re giving bait ago. You can always try using a jig head with fresh bait 👌, I’m sure you’d have a few lying around 😂
That would be interesting haha
I’m willling to try that
Great vid man and imagine those chip slippery dogs by diawa round wharfs and fish and chip shops
Daiwa needs to make that happen!!
Dayum... lucky you josh. We cant fish in the marina/harbour here. They scared of hook ups, n then hook well embedded in fish, it wraps round pylon n you break off, n fish is just stuck. Or lines getting caught up in propellers etc.
The fishes now you cant fish there, n they all showing off.. see em clear as day lol
(Fishes IS a word when talking bout multiple kinds of fish)
Good vid josh.
Awesome video 👌
Good fun video Josh! Next time you'll have to do a chicken salt vs plain salt test! 😀
It's a pity that the best fishing seems to involve structure and light line........
The seagulls enjoyed this session too Josh! Next time you bring the chips, I'll bring the bread rolls..... 👍
Hahah cheers mate🤙🏼 that would make an interesting video. Chicken vs plane salt🤣
Sick video josh, could you do another video there or anywhere with the risky critter again as the first one you did was sick, keep it up 👍
I am not kidding josh last week I caught a 40cm!!! Yellowfin bream on a hot chip with my mates when I was jokin around🤣
Damn I might have to use them as bait more often
@@joshdfishing haha I wouldn’t call them a go to but in some situations they do work 😉😁
Chicken salt,perfect
Very funny and very original😂 great job like ALWAYSE the vids are entertaining and great quality👍 also any tips on big crocs?🐊
Cheer mate. It really is true. The bigger the lure the bigger the fish. Sometimes they will hit small stuff. But for those 80+ cm fish just stay chucking those big lures
@@joshdfishing thanks alot I’ve been trying to catch the big ones with not much success over 60 but I guess I’ve just gotta keep trying with those bigger lures until one grabs it👍
Awesome video
I need to know the name of that hot food shop lol those chippies looked to good for fish hahha oh and great video as always mate
Another idea for a bream challenge is chewing gum, it does work, good to see you fishing again mate 👍 🎣
Very weird bait chose of today but it work great video josh
I really like your fishing content😁
Cheers man
You made me hungry…. Good job keep it up
Hahah cheers
Have a great brim set up I’ve court probably over 100 30+ brim
Wading out from the north east side of Burrill bridge and fishing the bridge pylons with either chips or especially cranka crabs you will clean up
Can't go wrong with hot chips
0:20 haha thats gotta be the cheekiest spot to fish(unless its your boat)
Nice
This is so funny and cool I did this with carp I used bake beans I was getting fish after fish on them
cheeper then pack of prawns ;-} great video
Indeed. But including the hooks and chips together it’s around $16
Well done mate good watching love your work. Yeah if you used plain chips they should sink better I would think.
Cheers Roy
Fish and chips has a new meaning
Nice fishing .shout from philippines
Yeww
I fish a very similar type of spot, pretty much the same result with decent yakkas and smallish bream, the bream in these kinda spots are hard to get.
